Trial and error. It takes adjusting since we can't manually place spawns. BTW, which map are you looking at?

Architect Entertainment - Content Ideas
ZamuelNow replied to Arcanum's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Not bumping the other thread but connecting the two so devs don't have to look multiple places: -
Dialogue triggers at the wrong times. Are they all just broken forever?
ZamuelNow replied to Zombra's topic in Bug Reports
There were actually a tiny number outdoor maps built correctly in the retail days. Though all of them have the multipart indoor/outdoor split. -
Map project v1 (Atlas Park & President Marchand's Office)
ZamuelNow replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Mission Architect
This is useful information that'll alter future suggestions but it also means "single room" outdoor maps are mostly a no go for adjustments unless they are bugs. -
untilUsing the style of a double feature, the Mission Architect Sunday Special is a monthly event for story based AE missions consisting of two arcs. Generally, the first will be selected ahead of time by the team leader while the second will be a random pick or chosen by one of the other team members. MASS will cycle across shards. It starts approximately 2PM EST in RWZ for co-op teaming.

Mission Architect Sunday Special: Everlasting thread
ZamuelNow replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Everlasting
The Mission Architect Sunday Special will be returning to Everlasting this Sunday at 2PM Eastern in the RWZ. -
What you do is make the Navigation Text (Plural) the same for all of them. You can even do that with optional objectives. I use an example of this in my arc Consideration of Knowledge.

Mission Architect Sunday Special: Story based teaming in AE!
ZamuelNow replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Mission Architect
Sorry about that. Woke up feeling sick and didn't think to post the cancelation in this thread. Next will be Everlasting on July 20 and Indomitable's next will be August 3, I believe. -
Oh, I'm willing to share secrets considering the arc has been around since retail. Yes, it's a recolored Tsoo artist. Mainly a file space saving measure since we used to have less space to build arcs. Didn't realize it caused a title change. The crystals...are renamed Devouring Earth pets (Will of the Earth). I'd suggest other authors do wiki dives since a lot of enemy groups have interesting mobs to repurpose. I'll have to look at the code again next time I'm in game but I forget if it's a triggered glowie or not. I know it's a swerve narratively to show that the stakes have been raised. The love/hate reaction to that map has been a constant that I enjoy. The map sets the tone it needs to. The only map I have issue with is the first map in the first arc due to the usual outdoor map headaches.

Daily GM Hunt One Year Anniversary Event (31 July)

You may want to add this to the event calendar. Granted, most who check Indomitable's forums probably already check here first. -
Mission Architect Sunday Special: Indomitable thread
ZamuelNow replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Indomitable
While this is usually monthly, canceling for today. MASS will resume next month. -
What customs are you using? Changes to powersets or shakeups with official enemies is the most likely thing to cause this.

Community Challenge Contest: Histories!
ZamuelNow replied to TorrentYed's topic in Mission Architect
Good luck to all the entrants! I tried these and each went a different route with the story and setup. -
That reminds me to remind everyone else to check your arcs if you use an enemy group that got adjustments this patch. Not a full playthrough (some of you have a lot of arcs) but at least seeing if they'll start since that will often reveal if something shifted. Another thing that affects AE that isn't AE is the costume editor. There's a lot of Blackwing stuff and proliferation of pieces but there was a collection of new pieces for the powersets that use rifles: Shotgun, Advanced Shotgun, Grenade Launcher, and Advanced Grenade Launcher. These are NPC pieces made available to the player. In particular, the grenade launchers are the Council/5th Column versions allowing you to either make customs who fit in with those groups or simply have a gun that leans more towards heavy arms as opposed to a machine gun or a laser.

Fair enough. I lean more towards story during play but AE has admitted hurdles to its presentation of that story. Otherwise common sense badges not getting credit is one of the headaches to the changes to AE in I15. I mean, maps with lava and such don't do damage anymore due to exploits. We are just now in Issue 28 Page 2 getting a map that can do damage. As much as I like AE, I could rant all day. Still, thanks for the response. Assumed no one would after weeks started to pass. One thing I might have a slightly different view than some is regular leveling in AE should be allowed. People had made lists of arcs by level and more than one person made regular posts showing their progress leveling. It creates a different feel for someone who's tried most/all of the game's content. But that loops back around to how people enjoy experiencing content.

Patch Notes for June 17th, 2025 - Issue 28, Page 2
ZamuelNow replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Yeah, there's a helicopter spot now. The Mercy Isle police precinct is great! Almost makes me wonder if this makes Echo: Mercy a more viable ask. -
Some things will seem obvious but there's some quieter things. First, the notes as posted: While we can obviously see there's reduced spawn density with the new Kallisti Wharf maps, what the announcements don't point out is that the new set has layouts the Legacy set didn't have--Tiny 4 and Medium 2, 3, and 4. The Rikti Space Station has windows and those windows have outer space outside. Neuron and Antimatter should be jealous. Of things that aren't explicitly AE but affect it, the glowies on the Freak-lympics map were fixed to not have a random one in the wall.

Mission Architect Sunday Special: Story based teaming in AE!
ZamuelNow replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Mission Architect
I don't run them weekly because I can't run them weekly. I would be more than glad for someone to take the star on other shards since I tried to make the setup something that could be replicated. Though there may be a chicken vs egg situation on attendance since Indomitable runs monthly. Might make a chat channel in game since there was one back in the retail days. -
Mission Architect Sunday Special: Story based teaming in AE!
ZamuelNow replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Mission Architect
The next time it hits Excelsior will likely be next year (presumably March). But this brings up a worthwhile discussion point: Is there anything that would help in making these more visible or easier to remember? -
Mission Architect Sunday Special: Story based teaming in AE!
ZamuelNow replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Mission Architect
For today's Mission Architect Sunday Special we ran: @Ankylosaur's Robolution (#25870) Bargain sale bots! @PW's Attack of the 50 Foot Villain (#46840) Massive monster mayhem! Small turnout but big fun. Probably the last time MASS will be attempted in Pocket D since it doesn't draw in more than the RWZ and feels more cramped. At least the asterisk on "MASS has run on all shards" can be removed. NEXT TIME... MASS returns to Indomitable on July 6. -
Looking back over these, I found two quirks that might help in figuring out what's going on under the hood. First, Front locations on some are still being weird but all of the Middle locations that were past the Back are fixed. Second, is that Medium 4 was the one map that had a single Front location and this patch changed it to a Middle and made a nearby room Front. The combination of these two factors have got me wondering if the system is counting with 0 as the first number while the reordering is using 1 as the first number. Or something similar. A separate and completely minor thing is that the size of Medium 4 makes it feel like it should be in the Large map set but that's nitpicking.

I'll keep an eye out for the next release client, then. I'm guessing there's not a way to manually adjust the status of a spawn point? That would be something that'd shift perspective on how AE works. I know objectives are internally numbered but that probably shifts based on what arc it is. I've also got curiosities on the "Any" tag but that conversation is probably for later.
