  1. For today's Mission Architect Sunday Special, we attempted to run: @Take One's Evolve Or Die! (#34209) Alas, real life called and several players had to leave on an already small team. Seemed good from what little we got to experience. This kinda reveals some of the issue with longer arcs. However, we did get to team up with a Praetorian player so we shifted from RWZ to Pocket D. Better luck next time. Speaking of: NEXT TIME... MASS returns to Indomitable on October 5th.
  2. 1. After seeing ads about the game and thinking it was cool but never making the jump, it was the retail box for the Mission Architect edition that finally pushed me to join. Was talking to a professor and picked his server to join--Victory. That professor almost never logged in but I enjoyed the game enough for it to not matter. So, I14 is when I joined. I joined Homecoming after the NCsoft announcement. 2. While imperfect, I genuinely enjoy the flow of the gameplay itself. It may be that my views are skewed both because I wasn't here in the beginning and that I'm not a min maxer who plays 24/7 but I'm usually not jaded towards the game.
  3. https://www.forumarchive.cityofheroes.dev/topic/194302?page_no=1 While the Wayback Machine would have better formatting, the above link is to the archive of the forum thread that inspired the Mission Architect Sunday Special. I haven't read through the entire thread yet but I'm seeing things like the fact that it didn't start out cross server. Also, there's a few familiar faces and faces that now use new names.
  4. MASS returns to Reunion on September 21 at 2PM EST (6PM UTC) in the Rikti War Zone.
  5. I'd like to adjust this since "Street Level" feels too vague. Instead, I'd like to suggest three different keywords for similar "smaller than global" reasons: Rescue, Heist, Escape

Using the style of a double feature, the Mission Architect Sunday Special is an event for story based AE missions consisting of two arcs. Generally, the first will be selected ahead of time by the team leader while the second will be a random pick or chosen by one of the other team members. MASS will cycle across shards. It starts approximately 2PM EST in RWZ for co-op teaming.
  7. Out of morbid curiosity, which shard were you on?
  8. Most annoying thing for me is people idling outside the mission with either Spines or some loud screen shaking power on Auto. But on the more interesting conversation that's developed, there are things on both sides that could adjust farming and stories. On things that would require dev work, we really need some sort of negative search. The ability to simply opt out of arcs that have terms like "farm" would make searching for stories far easier. On the player side, a lot of the focus should be on simply running more arcs in teams. It's not gonna shift every player over to AE stories but it'll help show people that there are things that aren't farms. I've noticed that there's been an influx of both brand new authors and new people talking about making missions. And on Discord, I've managed to have civil conversations with farmers. In fact, one stated (in the midst of defending creating new farms) that they felt it kinda sucked that it was so hard for stories to be found. That's a sentiment from a farmer you would have never heard back in the retail days.
  9. The problem is that we don't have direct control over the placement of objectives in AE maps, just the ability to choose a vague "front", "middle", or "back". However, I did let the author know so maybe they'll choose a similar but different map.
  10. V_Arachnoid_Cave_45_Layout_12 Position: [513.4 8.3 -685.3] The glowie is behind the wall due to the geometry of that kind of cave in AE. Discovered as a player instead of an author so I don't have more info.
  11. I'd suggest you transfer one to Torchbearer for the October 19th Mission Architect Sunday Special. Torchbearer tends to be the one with the most AE authors in attendance.
  12. For today's Mission Architect Sunday Special, we ran: @Leese's Through Rose-Tinted Glasses (#22) "Heroic" misidentified villainy! The small team worked a masterful scheme and we had a good time. Unfortunately, we ran into the dreaded glowie in the wall. This would have never happened to Manticore. Thankfully, @GM Crumpet was on the scene to help us. NEXT TIME... MASS returns to Reunion on September 21st.
  13. @Blackbird4329 I forgot to ask, what shard are you primarily on? Or do you play across multiple?
  14. Ah. I guessing this was posted in General and then got banished to the Shadow Realm here? Well then, welcome! First and foremost, what is your in-game global? I don't see a signature advertising your arc and that would be a good way to join in the sharing. I'd like to invite you to the next Mission Architect Sunday Special which is this Sunday on the Indomitable shard. It could help give you an idea of structure and help you in deciding to make your event more similar or more different.
  15. Tentatively put me on with Ebony Gyro - Elec/Elec Blaster.
  16. The next Mission Architect Sunday Special is this Sunday, September 7th, at 2PM in the RWZ.
  17. It can be a lot of fun to design themes for enemy groups and adjustments like this are a great start. Differences can go subtle or wide. I do wish the color picker had a more defined grid, though.
  18. I don't really see this section of the forums as dead. Especially if it's not being compared to General or Suggestions. It feels organized and there's no trolling. We're far more likely to actually answer someone's question.
  19. Glad you enjoyed it. It can be great for an author to see their arc through other's eyes. Though...I noticed a typo. And I know exactly how I wound up making it, ugh. As far as the third mission, the cave has invisible ghost patrols so they might have found you while you were in the middle of fighting the ambush.
  20. For today's Mission Architect Sunday Special we ran: @Maris's Der Nachzehrer Kommt (#55600) Fighting facist schemes! Small turnout but big fun. Unfortunately, no screenshots. Managed to push through the final missions. Wish I could work out a better time consistency since people enjoy these when they show up for them. NEXT TIME... MASS returns to Indomitable on September 7.
  21. I tend to make arcs a full story, like a book or movie, with the individual missions as chapters of that story. If I do a sequel, it's a mostly self contained story that stands on it's own, even if it follows an existing arc.
  22. The Mission Architect Sunday Special returns to Victory on Sunday, August 17th at 2-4 EST in the RWZ.
  23. AE debuted in I14 before power customization in I16. While it's disappointing that it wasn't added to AE later, the timeline makes sense.
