untilUsing the style of a double feature, the Mission Architect Sunday Special is a monthly event for story based AE missions consisting of two arcs. Generally, the first will be selected ahead of time by the team leader while the second will be a random pick or chosen by one of the other team members. MASS will be across shards but the first Sunday in the month will always be on Indomitable. It starts approximately 2PM EST in the RWZ for co-op teaming.

I believe people are typing their text without any code and then right clicking to add the code after. This adds the code in a way that ignores the character limit but makes things a headache to adjust afterwards. I'd say it's better to be concise with your narrative.

My arc Consideration of Knowledge hits most of the needed badge types. It's also structured as a tutorial so it could help if you were still missing a badge after the alignment missions.

"Feels like it could exist in the game" is a fairly high compliment. As far as the vibe I was going for? I wanted a fun pulp fantasy. But, you know, less blatantly racist than some of those could be. To that end, Portal Corp is the excuse plot that keeps on giving. And to your point on a emotions, there got to be a valid reason the magical kingdom with tons of steampunk resources needs an outsider to solve its problems. Succeeding here means any future problems are just you helping an established ally. The writing being tight is partially because the original version of this was written back around I15 or so and you needed to manage your file's size. All the code for fonts and such was hand typed instead using workarounds to get more than the character limit. The useful part of that is it makes fixing things like small typos easy. Also, not sneaking more text in helps retain the narrative flow. Though the two arcs have benefitted from prior feedback, I have been thinking about a lot of things recently and I might edit some small bits to these.

While my own main server was Victory, the teaming was in a similar style as MASS and cycled servers. There used to be. Homecoming revamped it to the new space. Makes sense considering it's an active warzone and all. Pretty sure most people were thinking it. Though, I've seen fire farmers in other zones. No one likes a traffic jam.

Zero clues feels weird to me but there's something to be said about brevity. Some arcs are entirely too wordy and could stand some trimming. Something that would be nice (and I might go officially suggest) is if we could have clues delete after a few missions. Would help clean things up like the official missions.

Main reason I run AE in RWZ is habit since that's where co-op AE teaming was pre shutdown. The second is that the revamped RWZ AE is a nice place. Its most obvious drawback is dealing with the MSR, especially if impromptu. The obvious problem is that the location can be somewhat hard to find for people who don't know where it is. It might not be a bad idea for me to try to shift to Pocket D on some shards.

Mission Architect Sunday Special: Story based teaming in AE!
ZamuelNow replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Mission Architect
As a night shifter, it's not impossible Reunion could work. But every shard has its own culture. What hours, BTW? -
Does Victory have anything that regularly runs on Sundays between 2-4PM Eastern? I'm asking since I'm running an event through Mission Architect that's cycling through shards and while the time has been perfect for Indomitable and Torchbearer, I lack that knowledge for other shards. I guess to be on the safe side, is there anything at 1PM? Don't want to reschedule away from one event and run into another.

That was an embarrassing copy/paste error. Asking about Reunion.

Mission Architect Sunday Special: Story based teaming in AE!
ZamuelNow replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Mission Architect
Excelsior MASS was canceled. Despite being a large shard, only one person showed up. That person left for the MSR. While I was alerted of an event at 3PM (thus trying to run at an earlier time) if there's also a MSR at 1PM then MASS simply isn't feasible on the shard. I will eventually try again but it'll be a while. Another wrinkle is that the new RWZ AE location, despite how nice it is, can be difficult for some people to find. NEXT TIME... MASS returns to Indomitable on April 6 at the normal 2PM time. -
The shade of blue looks similar to lapis lazuli so it's on brand. Well, other than the weird fact that it isn't a major color I use in the arc, hmm. More plays reminded me to update the water bearers since Water Blast and Marine Affinity exist. EDIT: The water bearers have blue outfits now.

Oh, that's interesting. My first idea was to do something based on the Navajo nation or Cherokee due to their status as sovereign nations but dismissed it due to being loophole abuse in getting around "Captain America". Still worth setting aside for a future idea.
-
So far, Indom has been the shard I've been the most successful at getting non farm AE formed. Been cycling servers so we'll see how things continue.

Giving a reminder that this Sunday is the day! Looking forward to seeing who all from Excelsior shows up for this.

Mission 2 Pickling Herbs & Spices This is a large cargo crate you used to sneak onto the Sky Raider ship. Blast your way out of here! -I think this is the original description for the box? Most wouldn't notice but just noting. pickle tank This is weird high-tech tank-thing is just about human-sized, but what would they be for? -I think this is also the original description but the main thing I noticed is that the name is lowercase. Mission 4 Voodoo Programming Voodoo Programming is naively constructed code that you hope will work, despite a completelack of proof that it will. -'complete' and 'lack' need a space between them. Mission 5 6 Office Furniture Needs Protecting -Grammatically incorrect but in a way I've seen official missions do. Should be something like '# Pieces of Office Furniture To Protect' Now, it's quite possible I'm fundamentally the wrong person to critique a radio style mission. If I get a chance, I'll try to run this with a team and see what they think.

Architect Entertainment - Content Ideas

Currently, Legacy Chain starts at level 5. I'd like to see them lowered to level 1. The low level versions are mostly 'dude with sword' and it would be good for villains to fight the heroic mages than Circle of Thorns all the time. -
I'm an embarrassingly slow leveler but I'm deep in the planning stages for Capitaine Haïti. I guess stating intent ahead of time helps avoid two people choosing the same country.

While I haven't read the comics yet and there's in game plots I've missed, I'm a little weirded out that people thought that Miss Liberty was a teenager. But I think that ties to the comment that not all of the game's writing is good combined with comic book time. I've always felt that Longbow was the game's best faction due to the ability to tell so many different stories with them ranging G.I. Joe pure heroics to vigilantes going too far. The problem is that the devs seemed to only want to go darker. While the Horrors of War is a great storyline, in a lot of ways it feels more like a way to showcase (again) that Nemesis is a racist madman as opposed to showcasing Tendaji's goodness or Dietrich's change of heart. Then the issue where real world perception of things like the military and police affects the view of the game's factions. I think the PPD in particular get hit by this on multiple different layers but I think that may require a separate post.

It seems like someone else noted typos so I won't dwell on that unless you want. Instead, I'll focus on structure. I'll say that the arc has some quiet things that pull it away from it's stated mission of feeling like radio mission. The really quiet thing is the insistance on no clues. While I have more experience with newspapers than radios, they often still have clues. Mind you, the clues are simple and it's only one per mission if they exist, they still exist sometimes. In fairness, people probably ignore them on teams. Chris having the exact same outro four missions in a row feels...unfinished? I know that it's to keep things moving but, eh. On difficulty, I would be careful with the Kallisti Wharf offices since the spawn placement is rather dense. Otherwise, it was fun overall. Conceptually, I liked the fireworks mission the most. Will there be a newspaper variant in the future?
-
That's sooner than I thought it would be added. But I hadn't done a Wikipedia dive in a while and now I've got ideas. I'll try to be ready in time.

While not perfect, I try to test with a variety of ATs. Particularly, including at least one non melee. I've noticed more than one person mention using a Tanker to test and I wonder if that's skewing things. That said, my weakness is heavy reliance on Test mode which obscures problems that are more noticeable on something published.
