  1. It’s because you are the kind of MM who thinks keeping the henchmen alive is all there is to playing the AT. I get it, that’s ONE way to play it. The other way to play it is that henchmen are “expendable” and you don’t need to keep them alive. Just resummon as needed. There’s more than one way to ‘win’ at this game and there’s more than one ‘right’ way to slot accordingly.
  2. Oh but we get Force of Will power pool as Scrappers! Weaken Resolve = Not the droids you are looking for.... Project Will and Wall of Force = Force Push! Unleash Potential = Channel the Force for a few moments to overcome all odds!
  3. This is absolute sacrilege. You’ve given up your hokey religion for a blaster? THESE ARE NOT THE DROIDS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR! But this is….. I’m kdding….I love Mad King specials!
  4. Thugs have always been my fave MM animation sets. I almost universally take Cross Punch on all my Thugs/anything MM’s because I love to follow the bruiser and take turns beating down his target with him. It’s just giggle-inducing fun for me. Plus you get a better appreciation for the all the Thugs various animations by watching them from inside the spawn. The little hellions all seem to have their roles figured out and just go…well…all thug on everything. Honestly, while MM’s still need a bunch of work, it was the MM class in this game that made me miss it so much at original sunset. I’ve yet to find a single other game that gives me such diversity of pet classes. I don’t know which dev cooked up the AT animations (and I’m sure it had a cast of many) but just know if you read this….COH’s MasterMind AT is literally in a class all by itself in the entire history of gamedom. The only thing I found even somewhat close was playing the game Overlord back in the day, but even that didn’t compare to the tactical nature of MM battles, especially when soloing.
  5. Demons/Storm build here….
  6. I’ve played just about every MM combo you can with /storm. It’s still a hard toss-up between Demons and Thugs as to which plays better. Thugs is likely more offensive overall, and the way I’ve played /Storm MM’s is all about Defense. You can softcap pretty easily with either set. With the recent changes, my Necro/Storm is much improved as well and that’s pretty thematic as well. But I’d suggest no matter which primary you choose, you view /Storm first and foremost as a Damage multiplier. Sleet, Tornado and LS all are bread and butter damage dealers. If you pick up the flame APP you’ll also get a nice confinement power which allows you to really focus on keeping everything in range of your storm summoned powers. And finally, build for +Recharge and that’s very easy to do given you can load up so many FF +Recharge procs into a great many of your powers. /Storm is a lot of fun, even more so if you throw in the necessary KB2KD procs. You can’t really go wrong, but learn to manage your Endurance! The storm mistress demands a price!
  7. I have just about every build you've offered, and have enjoyed them all. On the proc'd out Infrigidate are you talking better ST -damage- or better than Benumbs -REGEN? I don't use Benumb for damage...it's for hard target -Regen.
  8. Can't believe you'd take Whirlwind over Benumb, especially given how Water/Cold is one of the most popular builds for Hard Mode ITF's.
  9. There are servers -other- than Excelsior? Why?
  10. If i want a story, I read a book or watch a movie/series. I play COH to do superhero stuff. I skip as many text boxes as possible and ignore all the 5th grade fanfic fare.
  11. I think WAI as it's been discussed in bug forums occasionally.

Check out @Darkir’s post/build. It plays really well!
  13. It’s a lot of fun to combat teleport backwards 50 feet from a boss, release Call Hawk from range, then Feral Charge back to target, arriving usually just seconds before the Hawk lands it’s attack. And you were right…Call Hawk fully loaded packs a wallop. Those two attacks landing at once not only feels and looks “Savage” but does considerable DPS when landing at same time. A common opener for me is CT into middle of spawn, launch Gleam, Drop Sleet, then Fold Space to hug everyone and go to town, repeatedly CT backwards, release Hawk, then Feral Charge in. That plus my PA and Phantasm, dropping Spectral to keep people huddled, seems to make up for lack of a broader AOE immobilize.
  14. Final build... -I realized I was getting nothing out of 6-slotting Guassians in Spot Prey that couldn't be better served 6-slotting Spectral Wall. And actually, being able to immobilize the boss/AV in my sleet field is pretty sweet. So I swapped that around. -I swapped out some procs for FF +Recharge in both Call Hawk and Feral Charge. Got me to Permadom easily. Everything else remained mostly as it was. Pulled a slot out of Combat Jumping and since I'm already overcapped for S/L it didn't matter. Very happy with this one after some play sessions today. Thanks all! 15. I'm actually wondering if new Mids has a bug in there for +Recharge calculation. In game I'm finding this build to have a lot more +Recharge than what's showing in Mids. 16. ^^. This is what I’m doing and why CT was taken. I saw someone else do it and asked why and once they explained I’ve taken it on all my Savage Melee Doms. @Frosticus solid advice and thank you. Let me fool around a bit with some power changes and slotting.
  17. (Not sure if new MIDS exports correctly, first time trying it with this new version) This Dom is going for almost exclusively melee attacks, thus I built for S/L/M instead of Ranged. And Combat Teleport gets me hopping around inside of melee range frequently, along with Feral Charge. Think "Nightcrawler" circus escapee from the House of Mirrors. Bit more themed than min/max. However, I'm struggling a bit with +Recharge. I'm a bit shy of perma-Dom which to me is really a significant part of the AT. Once I get Ageless that issue goes away but until then, missing it I think. Thoughts? End is manageable and I have hundreds of Amplifiers so I use as substitutes until I get my Incarnates. Stats picture shown is with all three Amplifiers running. This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.4.7 https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 18. Until (unless) Mids is updated, you likely aren't going to see any builds posted for Illusion/anything for Dom's. No way to create/share one easily. My suggestion is go search for Dark/Psi builds for Dom's. Dark and Ill share similar powers from a slotting perspective. You can also hop over to the Controller forums and look at any number of Illusion builds for inspirations. *EDIT* Totally ignore what I just said. Mids Reborn just updated today and you can build an Ill/Psi or any other Ill/* Dominator now with new build. Go here for instructions:
  19. Crysis

    Necro Buff

Was about to say Plainguy....you are now FORCED to take pets with your Petless builds lol. Pretty mean of the devs there....they did this just to spite you! Although gotta admit, between the Spectres and the way Soul Extraction works now, my Necro/Storm is a visually busy set. Kinda fun!
  20. Not a fan of Hurricane once I get past my 30’s. If I solo’d extensively perhaps but by 40’s it generally fast moving teams and DPS trumps most defensive playstyles that would make heavy use of ‘cane. Obviously, beauty in the eye and all that but unless I’m solo’ing I just don’t have much use for it, and when I solo with this build, Melee softcapped DEF renders Hurricane largely unneeded to get in close for the PBAoE. Rain of Fire is just like any other rain. I either use it as an area denial rain and/or a finisher for a spawn. Or in the case of the build I posted, a place for a 4 piece of Superior Scourging Blast for the +END/+Recovery (Storm is always an endurance hog set) and +Recharge bonuses.
  21. Haven't seen an update in a good long while....
  22. I three slot mine and it makes a great immob when it goes off: Caltrops -- FrzBls-Rchg/ImmobProc(A), JvlVll-Dam%(45), ImpSwf-Dam%(45)
  23. I -reeeeeeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyyyy- am missing MIDS right about now. I pulled up my Ice/Savage Dom and my Dark/Dark Dom and my Ill/Storm 'troller and cobbled together a handwritten build for an Ill/Dark and an Ill/Savage. Right now the Ill/Savage 'feels' better to me...especially with taking the Teleport pool for Combat Teleport and Fold Space. Just hopping all over the battlefield while my "Mirror Images" do their thing makes me feel very much like "Nightcrawler" but with some extra tricks. But I really miss playing without having a build plan already in mind. I sense several respecs for this alt until I get it to where I want it. Ill/Dark is good too, but I'm already thinking it will play second fiddle to Ill/Savage.
  24. They are listed in first post of this thread, AA has kept that updated. I also want to thank @America's Angel for showing the masses that it can, in fact, be done. I have my original Spines/Fire brute running AFK right now in one session while dual boxing an active DP/Temporal blaster farmer in a S/L farm in another, Power-farming a new alt on a third account. -Active- farming requires almost zero changes to your farming brutes. Maybe make a second macro for purples instead of just turning everything into reds, or just click the purps as they drop. No issues. AFK farming you'll need to respec and, as AA indicates, either grab the P2W Defense Amplifier (and Survival one while at it as the regen doesnt hurt) or simply ensure you've got all the accolades. No reason to delete that Vet level 300+ farmer...still works just fine in the modified farms. Yes, PL'ing goes slower now. Yes, you'll earn less influence. But if you -truly- desire the "farming playstyle" like so many people have bitched and moaned about with every nerf, then you -CAN STILL FARM.- In fact, if you really enjoy the mound of dead bodies at your feet, I'd argue it's better now than ever before because you pull aggro from just about any of the critters walking near you without even trying. If you really want the best total influence per hour you can get, I'd argue this is still in the top 3 ways to do that outside of marketeering (which to me can get quite tedious and boring, but YMMV). Do I think these changes were necessary? Nope. Do I think the Devs have decided they aren't as favorable towards (in particular) AFK farming as other methods of playing their game? I think all but a moron would infer that based on these targeted changes to farming powers, AE behaviors and AE rewards. You -CAN- still do what you once did but not for the same reward vs. the risk and definitely vs. the investment required to get there. But at any rate, thanks AA. Follow the instructions in post one and farming AE is still very do-able.
