  1. Yes, and where there’s smoke - there’s fire. Theres also the old adage that you are never caught the first time. But the point was to show that yes, it can and has happened. The second article was to just show how “sneaky” they can be with reviews - which I sort of alluded to before the link. I do think only a small portion of a movies audience actually decides based on reviews. I personally only read them after I’ve seen a movie, just to see what others think and to see if it aligns with my thought.
  2. It’s just rumors being thrown about. But Superman in cuffs was not the big complaint. As I said in the FF thread - I don’t know if any are real or not, and will wait until the movie comes out to decide.
  3. Movies can be political without being preachy. That’s what I want.
  4. Only posting the first link because some people seem astounded to hear that their could ever be any type of suspicious reviews. https://www.ign.com/articles/rotten-tomatoes-under-fire-after-pr-firms-scheme-to-pay-critics-for-positive-reviews-uncovered Older article, but I think a lot more telling of how reviews work - and is still a disservice to readers https://www.rhsmith.umd.edu/research/why-critics-dont-pan-blockbusters-least-not-right-away
  5. For the record, I don’t believe that’s the political issue they are referring too.
  6. While it would be cool, it would also open the door to a lot more requests and expectations for what could be done to/with the environment.
  7. Snarkipoo The Vampire
  8. They’ve had some none trash - I wouldn’t consider Werewolf by Night and the GOTG Christmas special trash Deadpool/Wolverine also wasn’t trash. So I’d probably put them around 80-85% trash over the past few years.
  9. It’s always enjoyable when someone discovers a Diantane thread for the first time 🤭
  10. Come on Diantane. Surely you haven’t run out of material already.
  11. I put people on ignore and forget why, all the time. I usually unignore everyone every few months. The one who really need to be ignored will usually find a way to earn their spot back on my ignore list. As for the OPs idea - I think it would be a waste of time. Mainly because it’s something that players should easily be able to manage themselves. But who am I to decide what the devs want to waste their time on.
  12. Because….DPS Tool! Wait a minute. How about the Devs ban DPS Tools instead???! 🤔🤔🤔
  13. You are telling people to accept mediocrity based on the notion that things could always be worse. On the other end of the spectrum, I could say that if it doesn’t match their best work, it sucks. Most of the time, I don’t think people involved with the process set out to make a bad movie - and I don’t know if this one is bad - I’m arguing against your notion that people should “shut up and like it, because look at what came before” - I’m not arguing that this is a good/bad movie because I don’t know. I refuse to accept any type of mediocrity. If they want me to continue spending my hard earned money on what they release, they better entertain me.
  14. It absolutely is not. In any way, shape or form. Telling someone they have to accept crap because it used to be so much worse, is an asinine argument to try and make. When it comes time for a raise at your job, would you accept being told “you used to make minimum wage, so be happy with these 2 extra pennies” ?? Would you smile and say, “gee, thanks boss. You’re the greatest!” For the record, I haven’t seen Thunderbolts yet, and have no opinion on whether it will be good or not.
  15. To say “be happy with anything better than the absolute worst” is a sh1t argument.
  16. I think there’s a big difference between being amazed, and thinking a movie is good. After watching a movie, if I think back on it and go “enjoyable, but nothing great - to me, that’s average. That’s a C. If the best compliment I can come up with after watching a movie is “well, it wasn’t bad” - too me, that’s below average. If I suddenly changed “it wasn’t bad” to average, I’ve just lowered my expectations. With the cost to go see a movie going up, why should the quality of a movie be able to go down? Could you imagine what would happen if movie reviews set the price of a movie?
  17. That’s worrisome. Once “it’s wasn’t too bad” becomes the acceptable norm, we are screwed as moviegoers.
  18. No to removing aggro caps. However, I would like to see mob sizes increased
  19. Because that was her defining character trait. She held the team together. Just like yours is to find ways to argue with everyone here on this board, and always get the last word in. If they make a Battlewraith movie that features a main character that does not have those traits - I’ll be equally as upset.
  20. Ahhh, my old man memory has failed me again!!! In that case, they damn sure better not have Heather leading the team when the movie finally gets made!
  21. You may be missing the point of what is meant by “modern audience”. They aren’t referring to this generation of movie goers. They are referring to a subset that is either too small, or just doesn’t care enough to watch these movies. Movies like Snow White. Ghostbusters. Charlie’s Angels. The Marvels. The video game industry is struggling bad over their push to ignore gamers and cater to the “modern audience” As for updating the source material. I am all for that. However, changing characters is not “updating source material”. Its change for the sake of change. It’s making characters unrecognizable to fans of those particular characters. Anyways, it’s all just speculation based off rumors. I’m looking forward to the movie, for now.
  22. Heather (his wife) was the leader from issue #1. Yes James created it, but he was not part of the story (except in flashbacks). He was already dead by time the story started, which was a big part of the story and why she became the hero she became. I do not want that changed - I want the characters, the team and the dynamic I grew up reading about. If it’s really that hard for you to understand, no amount of explaining is going to change your mind. We will just have to agree to disagree.
  23. Simple. She’s not the leader. Reed is. It goes back to what I was saying earlier. If they want a team with a strong woman leading, those teams exist and are/were popular - make those movies instead of changing the dynamic to appeal to an audience that has proven to not exist. I loved Alpha Flight and would be equally against them not having Jennifer Hudson leading the team. She was the leader - that’s what I expect to see. That’s what I want to see. I’m positive that’s what other fans would want to see. That is if they ever get off their asses and get the movie made
  24. Most comic origin stories were ridiculous, as were most stories written for children. I don’t put any thought into it or let it bother me. The basis is the discussion that spawned from the unsubstantiated rumors about the movie. Nothing was to be taken as fact (which I mentioned earlier) - it was just a “what if this is true” scenario.
