  1. Hi Mantid, First off, Congratz! Glad to hear it's a Tank! Next, I'd recommend getting the Tanker sets to start with. As you mentioned your funds are a bit low for a full build, you might was to look at running a lot of the Task Forces (TFs) and Trials to pick up the Task Force Commander, Atlas Medallion and Portal Jockey Badges to help with Endurance and HPs as well as merits in the process. You can use the merits to purchase your Enhancements from the Merit Vendor. Also certain arcs, giant monsters, Hamidon Raids, Mother Ship raids, and Incarnate Trials will reward you with merits, or a means to convert what you earn (in the case of Mother Ship Raids) into merits. I will mention that if Endurance is an issue, you may want to spend some merits on getting Numina's Unique (Endurance and Regen), Miracle's Unique (Regen) and Panacea's Unique (Endurance and Regen). That out of the way, the good news is that Bio is a pretty tough set. Tough and Weave will help if you solo (well, will help in general), and Stone Melee is pretty hard hitting at the upper level (Single Target attacks). Also, while you're playing your toon, they will be unlocking the various Incarnate Powers. Since you'll be a work in progress as you get drops, and earn merits, I'd look at picking up either Cardiac or Musculature for your Alpha (I'm sure others will post with their choices). I like Ion from Judgement for almost all my Tanks, although most of them are good, I'd just stay away from Vorpal on a Tank. I like Degenerative from Interface, Barrier from Destiny (while working out your build), Almost anything from Lore, although I think Banished Pantheon, Carnies, and Cimerorans work well (usually go with Banished Pantheon (I'm sure others will make additional suggestions)), and finally for Hybrid you might look at Assault, Melee or Support. Your choice of Epics is good, do that. Taunt is good. Look at the benefits of more than one slot, but in general, Perfect Zinger's chance for PSi damage is all you need. You can slot with Four Mocking Beratements for some additional Def, but you'll likely not need it (four slotting does grant some additional benefits as well). Teleport is good, take that, and take the T5 (Fold Space) power as it allows you to pull in mobs from a distance (teleport them to you). Join us at Tanker Tuesday to get more advice (shameless plug). And have fun Tanking!
  2. Fun times on Reunion today, even if it was a bit rough with our baby Tanks at times. Even so, we were few, but MIGHTY! We'll see you all again on 5/20 9:30 AM.
  3. Cool, thanks for posting those times, although I though Healing Flames had a faster Recharge on Live, did that change here? (might just be me and my "memory") And I agree with not skipping Power Sink, you can really drop your opponents' attacks... but it usually takes two applications (actually about two and a half, depending on slotting) to get all their End floored (Bosses are a bit longer (?) irrc). And during that time you're soaking damage. Now... This is likely not as big an issue if you're on a Team, but solo and teams w/o Buff/Debuffers it's an issue. I think it would be interesting to see how Elect holds up against the reworked Invunl, and use Invuln as a template to make Electric more survivable. See if leveraging the set's Heal (Energize), increase the Regen % and duration, and maybe add a hit point buff would level or at least increase the durability.
  4. It might be just me, but I think Electric Armor might be improved a lot if the recharge time of Energize got paired down. With the set having a power that "increases" base recharge times by 5% (Lightning Reflexes), seems funny that it doesn't really make a dent in the heal's long Recharge. No DDR makes building for Def a challenge and will only go so far (granted getting over 50% helps, but it will eventually fail). Even with capped Resists, the set will still fail under a heavy load (and your a Tank, you should be under a heavy load) and the heal's recharge just isn't fast enough to help. The "god mode" is more like Russian Russian roulette in that you need to eliminate your opponents before your crash, and it's a punishing crash, a REAL punishing crash. Adding some Toxic Resist would be good too, zero is/was a terrible place to start at. Not sure what the logic was on that... I have seen some good Electric builds, but I think overall DA starts in a better place, some Def in the set, OG pretty much takes minions out of the fight. A damage Aura, probably the fastest self heal in the game (can be slotted for damage, takes Theft of Essence proc for refilling your End (you do need high Acc, and good Recharge), and overall good workable Resists. It is an End hungry set, so Theft of Essence proc is mandatory until you can get your IO sets (even then it useful to keep). On live I had an Electric Tank that I lead Hamis with and he worked well, but I really had to tool him out. I think I'd change that build and I do have an Elect/Elect here that I was messing with that is mostly Resists (under 10% Def). He works, but Barrier is needed for really heavy lifting. Granted I need to look at the build as I was playing with a specific concept. I met that, but I think sacrificed too much in the process. My Elect/Fire on live ran at just under or just over (I don't recall) 50% Melee Def (it did make a difference).
  5. Just a reminder, because I forgot... 4/15 we're running our Euro Saturday session of TT on Reunion. Meet in King's Row at 9:30 AM PDT!
  6. A fun run on Torch tonight. Two teams, one mission and one Synapse. Thanks for leading the Synapse TF PLV. We got to hit an AV, take on Babbage, and levels galore. ****4/15 we're running our Euro Saturday session of TT on Reunion. Meet in King's Row at 9:30 AM PDT! **** 4/18 we're back on Everlasting! Meet in King's Row by IP gate at 6 pm PDT/9 pm EDT. See you then!
  7. Hi all, I just noticed that we have a 5th Tuesday coming up in May! The good news is, it's a 5th Tuesday! The bad news is, I might not be able to attend on that day. BUT, I would still like to suggest an all Tanker MSR on one of the servers. I don't recall where we left off/who's turn it is, but we should plan on an MSR there. I'll look through the thread and see if I can find where we were last. See you all on Torch tonight!
  8. Good times on Excel, we ran four teams with the intent on spawning four Kronos Titans. Sadly there was a level minimum we didn't foresee. So we had Three titan teams and one missions team. Thanks for taking the Titan teams MrsA, Umann, and Zem. We ended up with two Titans, which went down surprisingly fast to a bunch (four teams worth) of Tanks. I little refinement and we might try this again. 4/11 we're back on Torch! Meet in King's Row by IP gate at 6 pm PDT/9 pm EDT. See you then!
  9. Sounds good. Although coordinating anything with Tank is like herding cats, so let's put it out there and see what happens.
  10. Fun times on Indom tonight. We had two teams, one ran Synapse (thanks for leading Pep), and PLV (thanks for leading) run missions in PI. Pali showed up to start the event and due to the Synapse TF we got to take on Babbage as well! Sadly being freed up from the star meant I was buys goofing off and not taking pics. Here's a couple I did manage to take. 4/04 we start April TTTs on Excel. Meet in King's Row by IP gate at 6 pm PDT/9 pm EDT. See you then!
  11. Hey Nygtmaire, it was good meeting you. Glad you could join us.
  12. Hey Zem, no worries, we all have stuff to deal with. Hope you got some rest. I though your TWer actually had pretty good recharge, seemed to be hitting faster than my Rad/Rad. I've never gotten into Katana, but I know people swear by it. I think the next combo for me is going to be Rad/Elect. Other than Katana, I think it's the only combo I haven't rolled (oh yeah and Broadsword).
  13. Good fun on Everlasting tonight. Ran two teams, then three. Thanks for taking the respec PLV, and thanks MsA for taking the 2nd missions team. Didn't get pics, but did get to meet a few new Tankers. Welcome to the event! 3/28 we visit Indom. Meet in King's Row by IP gate at 6 pm PDT/9 pm EDT. See you then!
  14. A bit of a slow start on Reunion today due to the various Daylight Savings Times changes, but we got things going and much leveling was had by all. We're looking at running Yin next month, 4/15. We should be in sync with times again, so 9:30 AM PDT. Agoogala brought us some Palis at the "2nd" start time. Oh yeah, we just about completed the first Striga arc. See ya' all then!
  15. See, that's why I have you all around to help me sort stuff out. I'm good for 8:30 AM, although no caffeine for Warboss, there aren't enough of you hold me down if that stuff gets in my system. I'll see you all then! Thanks for helping sort it out!
  16. Great shots and commentary Zem, thanks for posting both. I was running my "baby" 50 Rad/Axe Tankers, and I gotta' say I love that comb. I'm REALLY enjoying the changes to Battle Axe. If you haven't rolled or played your axe Tanker recently, you need to. There's just too much fun to be had with the set now (yes, you can even still "axe juggle" foes).
  17. Kwap, I totally forgot about that (thought I was doing well to remember this Sat as it was). If we keep it at "as-was" we'd need to start at 8:30 AM PDT. Is that doable for everyone? Seems pretty early for the folks that live to the East of PDT. Let me know what seems doable and we can make an adjustment until the Euro players make the shift. That's a good idea. I'm a little concerned about the number of people that would actually check the time.
  18. Good times on Torch tonight. Only two teams, but I don't think we did PSAs (if we did, sorry I didn't see them). We ran and ITF team (thanks for leading PLV), and thanks to MsA for running the missions team. We had a few new players to TT tonight, so welcome to the event! Taking/Tanking the bridge Taking the dance floor with Romi Tanks holding Romi, he looked like he needed a hug. Towers! 03/21 we're back on Everlasting. Meet in King's Row by IP gate at 6 pm PDT/9 pm EDT. See you then!
  19. Great turnout on Excel tonight. We hand enough for four teams! Thanks for running Numina PLV, Eos for running Katie Hannon, and Shanawdithit for running Shauna Braun. Missions team had "fun" (a lot of running around and talkies) the Crimson arc, then a Zombie invasion. Welcome to all the players/faces we saw tonight and of course good to see all our usuals at the event! Oh, we had Pali visit us at the start (he didn't last long). Thanks Agoogala for wrangling him for us. 03/14 we're on Torch. Meet in King's Row by IP gate at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET. See you then!
  20. I love the shot with the buzz saw flying through the air. Think that's a set we can get the Devs to work on?

    Newbie Help

I think the following would be good choices to start with Rad/Fire, or Rad/Axe. Rad Armor, in general, provides a couple of heals in the armor set, and is pretty easy to build for survivability once you get the Fighting Power Pool. With the Theft of Essence unique in Radiation Therapy you're pretty much guaranteed to fill your Endurance bar as long as mobs are around you (yes, this works for Dark Armor too, but it's less reliable). The changes to Battle Axe, make it hard not to like the set, especially with Axe Cyclone's ability to draws mobs to you in combat. Fiery Melee has good damage out put and, hey, it's FIRE! There are other sets you can go with as well, nothing really pairs badly with Rad. Rad can be color tinted to "Dark" if need be. **caveat, it's well known that I'm a Rad Armor, Fiery Melee and Battle Axe fan. Even so, I think they would be appropriate sets for someone starting out. Especially once you figure you all the magic and tricks that can be done with Axe Cyclone. Rad/Dark would be a strong contender as well (based off the options you've been looking at). ** Insert shameless plug** Also, stop by a Tanker Tuesday, see sig below, you'll be able to see many different play styles and builds in action. Plus many of the posters from the Tanker threads participate in the event, so you can ask questions in person.
  22. Good fun on Indom tonight. Two Moonfire TFs and one Market Crash. Thanks for leading the other Moonfire MsA and thanks to PLV for taking the lead on Market Crash. Teaming followed and many levels were had. We also had a couple of new TTers, so welcome and ejoy! Hope we see at our other events. Looks like my camera only got one pic tonight. 3/07 we're back on Excel. Join us in King's Row at 6pm PT/9pm ET and we'll see you then!
  23. Fun times on Everlasting tonight. We ran a Manti team and a missions team. Thanks for leading the missions team MsA and/or Zem (not sure who ended up with the star). Then ran missions for the rest of the event. Pali also met us to start the event. 2/28 were back on Indom. See ya' then!
  24. Fun times on Reunion today. Not only did we get to see some friends we've made there over the course of events, but got to hang out with them at a Hami (after the TTT event). Good run today. We continued with our "lowbie run". Ran Frostfire, and Posi 1 & 2. Much leveling was had. I think my toon started the event at level 10 and finish off about 9 to 10 levels later. Then we swapped to 50s and helped the Hami raid. We'll be back this way March 18th. Hope to see you then. Next month we're looking to run Syn/Yin.
  25. Hi all, A bit late with my post this week (been a busy week). Thanks to the vet TTer's for getting the event up and running. I know MsA took a team as did Ronin, so thanks to both. Thanks also need to go anyone/everyone else that helped out! I was able to finally get on and joined the missions team, and manage to get a couple levels on my Rad/Axer (yes, it's a great combo, so roll one if you haven't). I discovered that Axe Cycloning mobs is a bit difficult when you're -4+ to hit. Lol, still fun though. Next TT will be on Everlasting 2/21 at the usual time, and (as Ronin mentioned, we're back on Reunion this Sat 2/18 at 9:30 AM. Hope to see you all soon!
