Did some more mob moving today on TTT Reunion, didn't get pics, but I have to say Penny Yin's TF is idea for using Axe Cyclone to move mobs around. Great fun.

Hi all, Fun times on Reunion today. Welcome back to our returning TTers and to our first timers. We had fun running taking on two Palis at the start, running AV missions, a Yin TF, and finishing up with Lusca (I even stuck around for their Hami). Thanks for taking the start today Ronin. We'll be back on Reunion 1/21. Meet in King's Row by the IP Gate, and we'll get going from there. We are looking at starting some new Tanks here next month and will be doing either Blue side DFB, then King's Row for the Flight Pack, then Hollows. OR, we might start Gold side (*shudders). In favor of the Blue side start is that it's easy to add people in as needed. In favor of Gold side ... it's a change of scenery. Let us know what you think (you've got a month to think about this (well... try to post before week 3 so we can plan things out). See you all in game!

A good turnout on Torch tonight. Three teams. Thanks for running Tin/Ape Ronin and thanks to Dark-Shield for taking the missions team tonight. My team took on Manti with success and then the teams merged and ran some PI AVs. Welcome to all the new TTers that showed up, we hope to see more of you in the future. Next week 12/20 we're on Everlasting. Meet in King's Row by IP Gate at 6:00 PM PT/9:00 PM ET and we'll roll out from there. This Sat 12/17, we're on Reunion. Meet in King's Row at 9:30 AM PT. See ya' Then!

Hi all, As you may or may not know I'm a huge Rad fan (both Armor and Melee) since they were first talked about in the days of yore (original game/Player Summit). But, do to other things (Squirrel!) I haven't been running my Rad Melee toons much since the recent changes. I ran my Ice/Rad last night and dang, it seemed to take forever to take the bosses out. Have the changes crippled the set that much, or am I not working the mechanics right? Are there specific pairingss that make the set stronger? All the other sets I've been running lately (with maybe the exception of Electric Melee) just seem faster to me. Let me know your thoughts/tips/tricks with the set. Thanks,

Additional shots from 12/07 Tiki Toss (note the feet -top of frame ;)) BP swan dive with explosion I'd give this one a "10" for height This one just looks cool with the trailing lightning
-
Hard not to do this. Once you start it's hard to stop. Like eating potato chips...
-
I'm using MoTT (full set) and I usually have the +Resist bonus up most of the time (while in combat).
-
Confirmed, that the Avalanche proc is causing more of the scatter than normal. I tried the same tactics on another Axer and the scatter was greatly reduced.
-
I think on the toon shown in the pics I have the full set of Avalanche, which is a bad choice as the KD proc stacks with Axes inherent KD (probably adds to the scatter as well). I'll have to swap it with some thing, but atm I'm using it to up his Fire/Cold Def and I'm too lazy to figure out a better way to add that it back.

Under the "Fun with Axes" topic. Yes, you can move mobs using Axe Cyclone. It takes a little practice, but you can have fun moving them around. If you jump, then at the mob's head height, hit Axe Cyclone, you can "pull" them into the air. They do scatter but it's fun to watch. Once you can do that, you can start positioning them (to some extent). 1) you can jump towards and object and hit Axe Cyclone. I successfully did this and pulled a few mobs into a small dumpster. 2) Lampposts, if you gather them by and lamppost and hit it, it gathers the mob a little better, however the lamppost also provides additional scatter (do to the arc of the light arm(?)). 3) In low ceiling areas, there is little scatter, so if you jump then hit it, it pulls the mobs together nicely. 4) I successfully pulled a mob over a wall, onto a wall, etc... 5) it's very fun, give it try! We ran a BP mission and got to do a "Tiki Toss" as well. Very fun, but no pics at this time. Hopefully my teammate got some 🙂 If you haven't rolled a Axer, do so. They're fun!

Ooops, thanks for the catch on that. Of course it's 12/17, and I'm good with either Gold of DFB start. One though on DFB start, we should hit King's Row for the radios post level 10, pre level 14 to get Jet Pack reward.

Just a reminder, we're back on 13/17. Event starts at 9:30 AM Pacific! See you then!

A great turnout on Excel tonight. Thanks all for joining us! Welcome to all the new TTer's and welcome back all the regulars. Thanks to Ronin for leading Numina's and thanks to Kilo for taking the other missions team. Went to the WL's Realm, fought some AVs, you know, the usual fun! 🙂 12/13, we're back on Torch! Meet in King's Row by IP Gate at 6pm PT\9pm ET and we'll get rolling from there!

Do it, you'll love it!

Well... that didn't go as planned, but we still had fun and learned what we need to do for our next CoP attempt (Excel, Jan 31st). But we did take care of some AVs after and as always a good time teaming with everyone. We're back on Excel 12/6 (yes, that time of year already!) Meet in King's Row by IP Gate at 6pm PT\9pm ET and we'll get rolling from there! See you all in game!

As you already said, there really is no bad pairing, just tactics and play style. I'm partial to Fiery Melee, and with the current changes I'd recommend it even more. On a Tank I'd also highly recommend Axe. Recent changes provide Axe Cyclone with the ability to draw in mobs closer to the Tank. If you want the double teleport, then savage melee would also be an option.

Fun times on Indom tonight. Two teams, one did the weekly (Manti) and the other ran and ITF. Thanks for leading the Manti Col! Missions followed the ITF and we picked on an AV, and CoT. What a Tank sees in an AV mission... 11/29, CoP on Indom! Meeting in King's Row by IP Gate at 6pm PT/9pm ET and we'll get things rolling! See ya' then!

Fun times on Reunion today. We got in a Hess TF (Thanks for leading Ronin (and taking the team/league star)). We also got three Palis to begin with, ran a mission or two, then joined the local Hami raid. All-in-all a great event! Oh yeah, and we met a new Tank! Welcome! Stupid robot... We'll see you again Reunion on 12/17!

Shield Charge, or, Roleplaying Massive Structural Damage
Warboss replied to MistressOhm's topic in Tanker
Similar to what you do. I use it to "jump attack" building to building/platform to platform (or mob to mob when possible). Can be use in combination with a KD or "grounding" (immob) power to bring down annoying hover-snipers (also used against flying/hovering targets to start an attack then dart around a corner, breaking LoS to get them to follow), once grouped up, AoE them down (new Axe changes work well with this and my ever favorite Fires Sword Circle (FTW!). Used to be able to use it to teleport/attack into things like guardhouses, rooms with windows, etc (not sure if this still works, haven't tried it in awhile). Used with Lightning Rod for the "Double Boom" affect. Add in Energy Torrent from Energy Mastery and you can run them down (SC), blast them while they're down (LR), then take a step back and knock them down again (ET) (SC and ET can be used either at the beginning or the end, depending on if you want to go bowling (ET) or just smash through them first). This attack chain can be used in any attack plane. With PSi you can "flip pancakes" using (Mass Levitate) (knock them down, the flip them up). So lots of fun to be had with it. Using it with Axe you used to be able to "juggle" mobs with the KD/KU, haven't tried that with the new changes, you can still probably do it (this is a fun one to watch as well, it's even more fun to do).- 5 replies

Hi all, we're going to start the event at 9:30 AM PT this week. We're trying to lessen our impact on the Tankerage of the server for the Hami raid. See you then!

Had a good turnout tonight on Everlasting. We had three teams, a Hess TF, and two missions. Thanks for leading the Hess PLV and thanks to MsA for leading the other missions team. After we got folks leveled we ran a Yin TF, so a good time tonight. We also got to meet some new TTers. Welcome one and all, and as always we got to see some of our regulars, always great to have them along. This Sat 11/19, we're on Reunion. Meet in King's Row by IP Gate @9:30 AM PT. We're staring earlier than usual to offset our impact on the Hami there. Maybe we can join again at the end of the event! ;) 11/22 we're on Indom, meet in King's Row by IP Gate a 6pm PT/9pm ET...AND we're on Indom again on the 29th for a Ronin lead CoP!

Makes sense. I saw the IOs in question right after the post. Thought I edited it in time.

That's a pretty nice build. I know why Rune of Protection was chosen (great additional Resist, but only every three minutes), I'm not sure it's a power choice I'd make (I'll have to run it on the test server). I ran my Ice/Icer last night and got all his Incarnates unlocked, and I definitely need to improve his Resists. Thanks for posting the build, I'll have to try it out. I think there have been other Ice Armor builds posted that do not use RoProct. it might be worth looking at those as well and deciding which way to go.

Absolutely loving the changes to Battle Axe. A friend and I duo'd Citadel last night and Axe Cyclone allowed me to position, reposition, and drag mobs around and really control the combat. (note: this iteration of the build has Axe Cyclone updated from the when Whirling Axe was available at 20). With the changes, Axe Cyclone now not available until 28, so you'll be w/o it on lower level TFs (but there's still time to get it for Citadel!). I sort of miss it at level 20, but I think the swap was made to allow from greater damage earlier, and Pendulum is an awesome power in it's own right at level 20. This was with a Bio/Axer. I believe my friend was running a Rad/Dark Def (Yeah, my Tank was pretty buffed, and the mobs pretty debuffed. No, I didn't feel sorry for them. They were Council after all....). I just started work on a Rad/Axer which looks very promising. Can't wait to get both these toons totally built out. So anyways, I love the changes to Battle Axe, thanks Devs for making the set better and giving it a unique mechanic that actually works great for ATs the set was created for.
