As others have said, Ice Armor can be very annoying. Sure you "don't get hit" (actually... you do, a lot. Especially while leveling), and when you do it hurts. Iirc, the Heal is fairly slow to recharge, so Hibernate is your friend until you can get IOs in place and arguably Incarnate Powers. That said, it can be a viable Tank, but it is probably the longest to mature and get dialed in. On large teams this likely won't be and issue, but as the team size shrinks, so do available buffs. Chilling Embrace is an amazing aggro grabber. It's worth rolling/playing at least one Ice Tank, just for that. Secondaries I've enjoyed on the set are Dark Melee, Fiery Melee (yeah, I know...), Radiation Melee and Spines (this one is really fun). The reworked/current version of Ice Melee would be a great pairing as well. Frost FTW!! Increased DDR would make the set more fun to play, or maybe even some increased/additional resists, but I don't think that's doing to happen.

Just saw this thread, but I'd like to add that Dark and Rad Armor can be colored for the "Storm" effect (I've done it several times), add either the Lighting or Smoke auras and it will look pretty stormy. Pair either of them with Fire or Electrical Melee and you'll be pretty well off. You might even look at Kinetic, and Ice Melee. Energy Mastery may be one of the best Epic power sets for either Dark or Rad Armor, but you can go with Mu, Dark, Pyre or Ice for "more storm". Ice will give you an "Ice Storm" AoE.

That is sad news indeed. Hera was responsible for sprucing up our TankHQ bases, and was very active on the boards with build and power advise. I also only knew them through teaming (mostly Tanker Tuesdays), but they were always ready to help and in many ways embodied Tanker Tuesdays values. Their loss will be felt by the Tanking community. Go in peace Hera, your impact was great and you'll presence will be missed. *Hold Torch*

Good fun on Torch tonight. Attendance was a bit light but we managed to get a six Tank Kahn going and completed (what a pain) - thanks for leading that PLV, and a missions team lead by MsA (thanks taking that on). This Saturday, the 18th we're back on Reunion at 10:00 AM PT. And the 21st we're back on Everlasting at the usual time. See you all then!

Good looking build, I'll have to see if I can modify it for my Shield Tanks. I also like the use of Perfect Zingers in your first attack. To the OP, the best part of Shield/Elect is getting the two teleport attacks. Nothing like knocking them down then zapping them, or... was that zapping them, then knocking them down... Have SD/Elect is a fun pairing.

I've use BP, Carnies, Seers and in the original game used WarWorks. Out of all of them for Tanks, I'd say the order I've listed them is the order I'd rank them. I didn't really think the WarWorks were all that great, so I don't use them here. I haven't tried the others, but I've found these to be pretty useful. Also I've seen Cimerorans, and Knives used at TT's and they seem to be pretty useful as well.

15 Tanks, hundreds of Rikti and a dropship. The Rikti lost. Great job all! And to finish the evening Ronin lead a Master Of Market Crash which we finished in 36 mins, badges included! To the OP, it's a great question. I do a fair bit of soloing as well as teaming and leading events. I find Taunt to very helpful solo, as I can keep a stream of mobs running to me (ie keep feeding my AoEs), I can pull back runners (unless they've initiated the "run away more" feature/option/mechanic, use it to corner (or other obstacle) pull, or if I'm feeling mean and have a KB power I can KB them, taunt them, rinse/repeat until I'm satisfied they've learned their lesson, or have run out of HPs (don't judge)....

A bit of a light turnout on Indom, but we manged to get two Yin TFs running and I think we got Snow Bee in range for the next Manti... So maybe a Citadel next time we're on Indom? 11/30 5th Tuesday of this month = MSR on Torch. Meet in King's. Happy start of the holidays everyone!

It is, try it. Also you can pair it with Torrent from Energy Master and "knock the bowling pins down", run them over, FS them, then knock them down again (rinse repeat or fire off whatever has recharged. It's all fun from there). Almost as fun as "Axe Juggling" mobs with Knock Up.
