Fun times on Indom tonight. Two Yin TF teams (thanks MsA for taking the 2nd one), and missions to follow. Kilo only killed me twice tonight, so another "win" in my book. We start February back on Excel 2/4. Meet in King's Row by IP Gate at 6:00 PM PT/9:00 PM ET and we'll get rolling from there!

I don't know... I like Fiery Melee... but if it's not a RP build then general content (exemping, running weeklies, etc...)?
-
Speaking of "fair warning"... RL just called and I need to run an errand on the way home. I don't think it will impact my attendance on Indom, but just in case.... TT vets, please get things up and rolling and I'll join when I can. See ya' soon!
-
The exact reason I rolled one. I laugh every time I use it (followed by the mandatory "HiYah!")

What's the goal of your rebuild (RPing isn't really a build goal (imo), because pretty much any build could be explained away), general teaming, Running TFs (Exemping), End Content, Solo, other challenges, etc...? I think that will help a lot with the advise given. Gobbledegook's build is a good one, but some of the power selections come late in the build if you're looking at running lower TFs or teaming with friends/SGmates that are running lower content. And, I'd agree overall with what others have said, I also find Energy Mastery to be a good Epic choice for Rad Tanks. I do however run Mu Mastery on a number of them as well. I have build for 45%+ Melee Defense on several of my Rad Tanks. and still been able to maintain high resists. I have a build for Rad/Fire/Mu that I'll be trying out, when I get time, that shifts the Def to S/L to see how I like that/how it compares. But cycling between Meltdown and Barrier should cover most of the bases.

I agree with this 110%. KB over 12 really helps when fighting multiple mobs with KB. There has always been a discussion on "how much is enough". For me the minimal you'd ever want on Fire and Dark Tanks is 8KB protection (10 is the minimum I've ever run), but as PLV has stated 12-14 is better (12 is my standard minimum). I'm at work atm, so not able to access Mids, but one thing I would look at is the bonuses you get from ToN in Dark Regen. Check them against what you can do with Fury of The Gladiator (3pts KB protection), and other AoE sets. Dark Regen doesn't really need Healing buffs as it's already insanely strong. What it does need is Accuracy/Recharge (and arguably End Rdx, depending on slotting and the overall build). Avalanche's KD proc works in there as well and adds additional damage mitigation as the mobs struggle to get back on their feet.

Yeah, I'd say it's fair warning. We were running a bit light with the builds. New Tanks and baby 50's, but was still fun to push them and see how far they could go.
-
Well put, thanks for the summary.
-
Dang, I'm going to have to check my Icer on Torch... I'm not sure what 2ndry I took, but I need to look at it again.

Good turnout on Everlasting tonight. We ran two TF teams and a missions team. Thanks for the taking the lead on the ITF MsA, and thank you Lor for leading the Manti. Kilo only manged to kill me once, so I'll call the night a "win". I'd also like to welcome all the new Tankers that showed for the event, it was good to have you along. We're back on Indom 1/25. Meet in King's Row by IP Gate at 6:00 PM PT/9:00 PM ET and we'll get rolling from there!

I thought I had one laying around, but don't see it. With the build I was working on I was shooting for Recharge and S/L Def of 45%. I know that's not a full build as requested, but seems like what I was after. The Recharge helps both Lighting Rod (immensely fun power), Radiation Therapy (Proc it out) and Meltdown (Take for the Damage/Resist buff).
-
Should be a fun combo. Enjoy your Tankage!
-
That table takes a bit of digesting, but answers so many questions...
-
For Tanks, is that 95 for Melee and .8 for Range?
-
Tanks, very easy to build to survive insane amounts of damage, benefiting from both the highest range of Hit Points and "Defenses" (I'm including both Resistance and Defense). With the latest buff, Tanks can now defeat Lts and minions with little problem. However, they still have issues taking down bosses and above quickly. Procs can help with this, depending on the power, as can Incarnates and Pool choices, but as Peregrine Falcon has said. Brutes do more damage than Tanks, can be built to be very tough (2nd to Tank in HPs, and can but built to Tanker soft caps "Defenses"), Scrappers have a good change to crit, which pumps up their "kill faster" ability, but their Resists are on 75% of what Tanks are, they have fewer Hit Points than Brutes, but, they can soft cap Defense (I've found playing Def based Scrappers easier than Resist based ones (probably because I'm used to playing Tanks)). Stalkers, I've never really cared for, and don't have the numbers on, but I believe they can Single Target out damage Scrappers and Brutes, but lack or have limited AoEs. I believe their over all "Defenses" to be similar to Scrappers (number wise).

Of the choices given, I'd go Rad/Rad (take the T1 and T2, skip Proton Sweep (T3)). Irradiated Ground is a gem especially when paired with Rad Armor. If not that, and you want to try a "Classic" then go Inv/Dark (they are near impossible to kill). You could consider Inv/Rad too...
-
We were few (two to start, Ronin and I), but mighty. Three Paladins went down to our might before continuing our AV quest. Bananiac joined us and we went on taking on foes of Paragon City! One... Two... Three... This one liked Ronin more than me... Then the AVs Doesn't look like my Infernal or Battle Maiden or Diabolique pics took, but we got them too! (can you spot the Rad and Fire Tanks in the Pic?) We'll be back on Feb 19th! See ya' then!
-
Sounds good, hope we get to run with you again. See ya' soon.

That's a pretty interesting build, I'll have to look at it when I get home. I also like the idea of using Hibernate to mitigate the first wave (I'd probably must Tremor and Fault), so a different view/tactic is always welcome.
-
I was under the impression that in Hibernate you still held aggro. I think this was a change from long ago, based on exactly what you said. A "hibernating" Tank is useless, although I think you could still be hit back then (and take damage, the regen was just higher). I generally don't use the power, so I don't have a current experience to pull from.
-
I'm by no means a build guru, but what if you placed three Aegis (Recharge/*) in Hoarfrost and two Impervium Armors (Recharge/*, and/or Psi). That would give you almost capped Fire/Ice Def (44.x%) (seems like on one of my builds I got this higher). Granted the heal will be at the base amount, but you would be getting hit "less".

Hi all, this Saturday, 10:00 AM PT we'll be back on Reunion. See you in King's Row by the IP Gate then!
-
Roll it as Rad/StoneMelee 😁 Just kiddin'... I'm at work and can't look at the build atm, but I'll check it out later. Glad to hear you're enjoying the combo, and that for some reason you listened to me... The KD from Fault and Tremor can "keep the fish flopping" and really bleed off/mitigate a lot of damage. I had an invul/StoneMelee on live, pre IOs, that was very fun/indestructible due to Fault and Tremor, so not surprised you're enjoying it.

Fun time on Torch tonight. I was a bit delayed due to RL, so thanks to everyone who got things going. Thanks to Kilo for setting up the Synapse TF and leading it, and to Ronin (I'm not sure who lead the missions team, so feel free to correct me if I posted that incorrectly). Two Fire Tanks, so much burny fun was had. **TTT on Reunion this Saturday 1/15. Meet in King's Row by IP Gate at 10:00 AM PT. We're back on Everlasting 1/18. Meet in King's Row by IP Gate at 6:00 PM PT/9:00 PM ET and we'll get rolling from there! See ya' in game!

Hi all, I've got some RL stuff in play, not sure I'll be able to make it on until later. Vet TTer's please get the event rolling and I'll join when/if I can. Take care all. If I don't see you tonight, I'll see you next week on Everlasting!
