  1. Fun times on Reunion today. We got in a Hess TF (Thanks for leading Ronin (and taking the team/league star)). We also got three Palis to begin with, ran a mission or two, then joined the local Hami raid. All-in-all a great event! Oh yeah, and we met a new Tank! Welcome! Stupid robot... We'll see you again Reunion on 12/17!
  2. Similar to what you do. I use it to "jump attack" building to building/platform to platform (or mob to mob when possible). Can be use in combination with a KD or "grounding" (immob) power to bring down annoying hover-snipers (also used against flying/hovering targets to start an attack then dart around a corner, breaking LoS to get them to follow), once grouped up, AoE them down (new Axe changes work well with this and my ever favorite Fires Sword Circle (FTW!). Used to be able to use it to teleport/attack into things like guardhouses, rooms with windows, etc (not sure if this still works, haven't tried it in awhile). Used with Lightning Rod for the "Double Boom" affect. Add in Energy Torrent from Energy Mastery and you can run them down (SC), blast them while they're down (LR), then take a step back and knock them down again (ET) (SC and ET can be used either at the beginning or the end, depending on if you want to go bowling (ET) or just smash through them first). This attack chain can be used in any attack plane. With PSi you can "flip pancakes" using (Mass Levitate) (knock them down, the flip them up). So lots of fun to be had with it. Using it with Axe you used to be able to "juggle" mobs with the KD/KU, haven't tried that with the new changes, you can still probably do it (this is a fun one to watch as well, it's even more fun to do).
  3. Hi all, we're going to start the event at 9:30 AM PT this week. We're trying to lessen our impact on the Tankerage of the server for the Hami raid. See you then!
  4. Had a good turnout tonight on Everlasting. We had three teams, a Hess TF, and two missions. Thanks for leading the Hess PLV and thanks to MsA for leading the other missions team. After we got folks leveled we ran a Yin TF, so a good time tonight. We also got to meet some new TTers. Welcome one and all, and as always we got to see some of our regulars, always great to have them along. This Sat 11/19, we're on Reunion. Meet in King's Row by IP Gate @9:30 AM PT. We're staring earlier than usual to offset our impact on the Hami there. Maybe we can join again at the end of the event! ;) 11/22 we're on Indom, meet in King's Row by IP Gate a 6pm PT/9pm ET...AND we're on Indom again on the 29th for a Ronin lead CoP!
  5. Makes sense. I saw the IOs in question right after the post. Thought I edited it in time.
  6. That's a pretty nice build. I know why Rune of Protection was chosen (great additional Resist, but only every three minutes), I'm not sure it's a power choice I'd make (I'll have to run it on the test server). I ran my Ice/Icer last night and got all his Incarnates unlocked, and I definitely need to improve his Resists. Thanks for posting the build, I'll have to try it out. I think there have been other Ice Armor builds posted that do not use RoProct. it might be worth looking at those as well and deciding which way to go.
  7. Absolutely loving the changes to Battle Axe. A friend and I duo'd Citadel last night and Axe Cyclone allowed me to position, reposition, and drag mobs around and really control the combat. (note: this iteration of the build has Axe Cyclone updated from the when Whirling Axe was available at 20). With the changes, Axe Cyclone now not available until 28, so you'll be w/o it on lower level TFs (but there's still time to get it for Citadel!). I sort of miss it at level 20, but I think the swap was made to allow from greater damage earlier, and Pendulum is an awesome power in it's own right at level 20. This was with a Bio/Axer. I believe my friend was running a Rad/Dark Def (Yeah, my Tank was pretty buffed, and the mobs pretty debuffed. No, I didn't feel sorry for them. They were Council after all....). I just started work on a Rad/Axer which looks very promising. Can't wait to get both these toons totally built out. So anyways, I love the changes to Battle Axe, thanks Devs for making the set better and giving it a unique mechanic that actually works great for ATs the set was created for.
  8. Fun times on Torch tonight. We ran a Citadel TF at 8+3 and finished in 48:58. Not bad for a bunch of Tanks. We also had a missions team, thanks for leading that MsA. And finished the night with a few missions. Always good to see regular TTers and to get new players involved as well. 11/15 we're on Everlasting. Meet in King's Row by IP Gate a 6pm PT/9pm ET and we'll get rolling from there! AND... Indom CoP on the 29th! See you in game!
  9. On a Fiery note, I got a chance to run my Fire/Fire/Mu Mastery Tanker last night (haven't run him in awhile). His Incarnates range from T1s to T4s. I had forgotten I was experimenting with with the build to see what I could do PSi-Resist wise. It uses Impervium Armors instead of UGs. Anyways... against 8 +2 Carnies he did well, except for the End Drains. When Consume was used at the start of the fight there were no problems. I could also decrease the affect of the drain by eating a mid size Purple Shield. I think once I get Hybrid Melee to T4 he might be even sturdier. Anyone have an idea/trick to getting Consume's recharge faster (currently running Ageless, Hasten, and a couple of LoTGs). I'll test against other mobs soon. But so far this build looks pretty good.
  10. Numbers wise it's an interesting build, functionality wise, I'm not so sure. What are you looking to get out of it, and are you currently enjoying it, and looking to improve, or are you still leveling and wanting a final build. A couple things stood out to me. You don't have Frost, which is a must for this set (put the MoT ATOs in there), and Ice Patch which is an excellent way to help mitigate damage.
  11. Are you adding procs to your STs, Franensloting or sets (with whatever procs they have in them)?
  12. Points for knowing what and "Adze" iz, but I thought the whole distinction of the tool was the blades relationship to the handle. Anyways, look at how much you can learn on the Tanker threads... With that said, to learn even more fun and interesting facts join us for Tanker Tuesdays on a server near you (schedule in sig) (yes, I know it's a shameless plug, but that's my job).
  13. With the changes to Axe I don't think there is a "bad" pairing. Dark is going to hate End a bit more than the other sets, but other than that, any of the primaries should be fine.
  14. I noticed something like this the other night when playing, but nothing I tried to repeat. Now that you bring it up, I'll have to see if I can reproduce the affect/maneuver. I've always liked FM, but it wasn't until a few months ago I saw the reason why, posted on these forums (less resisted by mobs). With the new changes the set has really come into it's own. I had a Shield/Fire Tanker on live and he was a blast to run even back then (go Fire Mastery for the Epic set and pick up Fireball for more AoE fun ). 😉 I thought I saw something about the changes that made me do a double take on BoF, but sounds it's not like a keeper. If you can pack both Incinerate and Greater Fire Sword into the build you can pick up some high end damage output. I usually take one or other, with GFS being the choice, it does a big whack of damage and is great for starting the damage chain and finishing off the remaining hit points.
  15. Citadel, my fav all Tanker TF. I'll lead that one next week. And, as a bonus, on Torch I have MANY Fiery Melee Tanks, so we'll have at least two to test with. If anyone else wants to join with FM, we can get that one crossed off my list. 😉 Although I think the additional magic with the FM changes comes with Fiery Embrace. I don't recall.. and there were a lot of words in the post that explained it...
  16. Oh yeah, two other teams I want to run in the near future (if possible and interest exists) all Axes, and all Fiery Melee!
  17. We had a good turn out tonight on Excel, three teams overall. We were able to run a Ms Lib TF (thanks for leading PLV), a Sewer Trial (4 Tanks!)- Thanks for leading Lor and to Umann for his advisory roll, and a missions team. We got to see some new face as well as a few more returning vets. Welcome and welcome back one and all. 11/08 we're back on Torch. Meet in King's Row by IP Gate a 6pm PDT/9pm EDT and we'll get rolling from there! Also, this Sunday set your clocks back! AND... Indom CoP (get your toons to 50 and tooled up!) on the 29th! Yes, we'll be on Indom two weeks in a row this month! (Jan 2023 we'll be on Excel the 1st and 5th Tuesday of the month! A great way to start the new year!) See you all in game!
  18. I got a chance to run by Bio/Axer again last night , solo and duoing. I'm still having a blast with it. I'm really liking the utility of Cleave. With the range it has now you can hit those annoying mobs that want to sit on the edge and plink away at you, and it hits pretty hard. I've only done some base Carnie action with him so far, but looking forward to what he can do. At level 44/45, he's ramping up to be a fun toon (moves much faster through mobs than previously). Not sure when I'll get to it, but I'm interested in seeing how BA plays out on a Brute.
  19. Warboss

    Why tanker?

We really need to get you to embrace Radiation... 😝
  20. Ha, true to some extent, but imagine this. At TT's we have up to 8 Tanks on a team, 8 x Aggro Cap = ~136 mobs (a BIG kitty bowl ;)). They can't all fit into the space around the Tanks (pulling to a single point). As the mobs crush in and are defeated Axe Cyclone keeps them pulling them in from the edges. It would be a thing of beauty. We already see that at some TT events, Axe Cyclone would just supply the mechanic to keep the grinder going.
  21. Hey Sail, good to see you around. I'm not sure you'll have to change things. The way the powers work and the levels you get them at (guess you might have to respec to take advantage of that) has changes but slotting and sets are pretty much the same. If you have tried Axe Cyclone, got do it, you'll love the set even more.

    Ice/SS Tanker

Does SS/Rage still have the -Def Crash? If so, is that a big deal (I don't recall from the days of running mine on live)? Six slots in CE seems like a lot to me, although I haven't seen your build. I agree, putting PTs unique in Stamina is probably a better bet than AE. For AE I generally slot for Recharge and Def. I was working on a icer a couple months ago, but got sidetracked by a shiny... I'll have to go back and see what I was testing/messing around with... .... Squirrel!
  23. I got to watch Axe Cyclone from an external standpoint last night at Tanker Tuesday, I have to say it does a great job of gathering mobs. One of the events we enjoy running on TT is all Shield ITFs. After playing Battle Axe and seeing it in action, used by another party member, the only thing I can think is "Dang, I want to run an all Axer TT team....". The herding, positioning, and control of the mobs would be insane!
  24. Good fun tonight on Indom. A light showing, but we got in a Yin TF and a Faathim's TF (thanks for leading that Witty). Afterwards we got in some ToTing and missions. I got my baby Tank there the 23, so a good night. Next week we're back on Excel (November TT's starting up). Meet in King's Row at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT and we'll get rolling from there. Take care all and see you soon!
  25. Dark/Fire for me, but I have an affinity for FM... so I might be biased. With the changes to Battle Axe it now might be a very powerful pairing. End will be an issue until you Theft of Essence in place in the heal, and work on Acc/Rech for it. But Axe Cyclone will help keep things from wandering off after they're hit with OG. Add Mu Mastery for the Epic/Patron powers (Electric Fences, and you'll pretty much have mobs stuck around (for as long as they survive).
