  1. Back in the day (a loooong time ago...) I really enjoyed my Fire Tanks. Very fun, all aspects of them, and I leveled up all the combos. I really enjoyed my Invuln/Stone, he was incredibly difficult to kill. I had Fault slotted for recharge and between bouncing goons and Invincibility there just wasn't much that could touch him. Here, I really enjoy Radiation Armor/anything! After so many worked so hard to get the set going, it's nice to have it here and extremely fun to play. Rad/Fire is my combo choice, and probably over all my favorite Tanker combo to date. Note: I did run Electric/Fire for a long time on live and I enjoyed that combo as well.
  2. Right, with Hami properly defeated we're back to posting the normal TT events here. Next week we're back, or staying on Excel (starting October's rotation). Also, there has been a request for a TTT on Reunion for a Saturday, so let's start looking at that as well.
  3. Arrrgggghh, I hate it when that happens, especially at raids! I remember on live I was leading one on Justice and lost connection. When I was able to log back in the Hive was full! The first raid I ever lead in absence! Lol. Anyways, thanks for joining us and I'm glad you got to be a part of it.
  4. I thought we got to 38 Tanks (that was the magic number in my mind), but to be honest it got kinda' hectic when we left for the Abyss (both in game and RL), so I didn't get a good head count. BUT, we had enough to get it done and as you said w/o a full league! It seems to me we were about 10-12 shy of a full league based off what I remember of the team sizes. Again, I can't thank everyone enough for joining this historic event! Team leads were: MsAligned - Leading our Taunt team, an excellent job done! Ronin Around - Leading our Yellow Kill Team 1 Witty - Leading our Yellow Kill Team 2 Myth. - Leading our Blue Kill Team V.V. - Leading our Green Team and thanks to all on my team that basically formed Green Kill 2 and provided support for the Blue Kill Team. *Let me know if I got any of the leads wrong and I'll correct them. Also I'd like to thank all who discussed and help plan this event. Considering all that happened last night, I thought it went really smoothly.
  5. Mark your calendar, today we made history. An all Tanker League, took down Hami!! Wait one sec... AN ALL TANKER LEAGUE TOOK DOWN HAMI!! I get to cross one off my CoX bucket list, and off the collective Tanker Tuesday one. My/our thanks to our Hami Tank, all our team leads, people who made suggestions, input and brought their experience, and most of all to all the players who support our event. It was a once in a life time experience and we were able to do it because of you! We're back on Excelsior next week 10/01. Meet in King's Row @ 6pm PDT/9pm EDT.
  6. 6pm PDT/9pm EDT. Also, the Org power you want is Taser Dart. I think I stated it was Tranq Dart. It's not, you want Taser.
  7. Hi all, Hope to see you all on Excel this Tuesday for the upcoming Tanks vs Hami event!! Roughly "The Plan": Depending on turn out and builds, I'm planning on running a 3 round no-retreat raid. That is, we'll stay in the goo and clear the waves of mitos as the spawn. No pets until the last wave (unless we're struggling for damage, in which case I'll call for them). Everyone will likely need around 8 EoEs (again, this number is hugely flexible depending on the numbers and builds we get). Round 1 enter the goo, clear initial spawn. Round 2 stay in the goo buff, eat EoE, clear 2nd spawn. Round 3 stay in the goo buff, eat EoE, clear 3rd spawn. Buffs prior to 4 wave mitos spawning, continue attacking Hami, spawn pets and push through. Of course, everyone knows that nothing goes according to plan, so listen to you team leads and be ready to switch tactics as we go. If all goes South, we'll regroup, buff up and go at it again. Switching to a "Regrouping" raid if need be. Again, depending on number of Tanks and builds, here's the general team/league set up: 1 Hami Taunter (may be more (that would cycle in/out) and/or have back ups, depending) 1 Yellow Taunt team 1-2 Yellow Kill team/s - 2nd Yellow Kill team may assist Blue team depending, otherwise will start assisting Green team once their mitos are down. 1 Main Green Kill team (everyone will likely need to assist with Greens) - We will focus attacks on the Green V.V. is targeting. *If possible and we have enough Tanks with holds, we'll make a 2nd Green team. I'd laugh pretty hard if we could pull this off, but still it would be something! :) 1 Blue Kill team - Will switch to Greens when done ** For now, everyone plan on attacking greens once their main targets are defeated. Let me know if you want to lead a team or be our Hami Taunter. So far team leads will be: MsA leading Yellow Taunt team V.V. leading the main Green team So we need leaders for: Blue/Yellow Kill team 2nd Yellow team and hopefully 2nd Green team Post here, PM me, or let me know at the beginning of the event. See ya' Tuesday!
  8. Okay, good input, thanks for bringing this up. I know we had one Tanker there trying to get the event going on Tuesdays (I think they posted earlier in this thread). Lets see if we can get in touch with them and get something coordinated. We'll talk after we finish up Hami this week.
  9. Sounds good Cinder. We'll definitely be able to put your Tank to use.
  10. Good deal, thanks for taking care of that MsA. Much appreciated. As for the Reunion Tanker Day, let's talk. We're overdue there.
  11. The one you like playing best. ;) Now for the raid leader response: Depends on what your builds are like. We'll need hold, ranged and taunt in addition to our normal Tanky stuff. If you have one or more holds, we could use you on the Green team. If you have one or more Ranged attacks, we could put you on Blue patrol then assist with Greens. If Taunt is your thing, we can use you as either Yellow Mito Tuanter, or the main Hami Tank (I think either build would work).
  12. Hi all, We had a good turnout on Indom. Three teams, a respec team, and two missions teams. Thanks to all who lead. 9/29 we're back on Excelsior for Tanks vs HAMI!!! We'll start at the normal time and place then head to the Hive en masse! If we force a 2nd zone to open we'll take that one, so as not the throw off the normal raids. So, be ready to switch should/if/when that be the case. So, get your 50s ready and we'll see you there!!
  13. Sounds good, looking forward to seeing you there!
  14. Hi all, Looks like we had a good one on Everlasting, sorry I was late joining tonight, had to do some work right before the event started. Thanks to all who lead teams and got the event rolling! We're back on Indomitable next week 9/22. Meet in KR by IP gate at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, and we'll get rolling from there. **Remember, Sept 29th it's Tanks vs Hami on Excel! Get your Tanker ready!**
  15. Actually, while I have a minute, a few things more to have for the raid: 1) A method of Flight, by power set, or by temp power (jet packs are probably the best). 2) Ranged attacks, by power set is best, and at least the Nemesis Staff and Black Wand (from P2W vendor), other ranged temp power are fine, but I think they cycle a bit slower. 3) Holds, see post above. 4) Taunt, if you want to be on a/the Taunt team, you'll need this power. (only one Tank will be taunting Hami, but we'll have others on the Yellow Mitos).
  16. Thanks for posting that VV, I'm a little slow this week. And, just to expand a little on what VV is saying, there are several options for additional holds to be had that don't involve respecing or rolling a new toon (for those sets that don't have them natively in the power set). 1) Change out your Origin power to Tranq Dart at the P2W vendor. You have to remove the current one, then add the Tranq Dart. 2) Gold Rings from the Ski Chalet. 3) Place a hold proc in a set that allows them. Examples: Blistering Cold, for Melee ST sets, Devastation for Ranged ST sets, etc... 4) Any other temp powers I'm forgetting... If your already have a set that has holds built into it, then picking up and additional set from the Epics would be a big help. Also adding the +2 mag procs will help. If your sets don't have a hold, and you were thinking about trying another Epic set, then by all means, please try one with a hold (Arctic, Earth, Pyre,...) Although I'd be thrilled if our hold team can lock down mitos on their own, this aspect of the raid is going to be our greatest challenge and likely a total group effort, so ANY hold you can provide will be a benefit and increase the chances of success!
  17. Hi all, As part of the Tanker Tuesday (TT) theme and mantra (to run all content using only all Tanker teams), we’re going to attempt to fulfill one of our collective bucket list items and run an all Tanker Hami on September 29th, on Excel at the usual TT time 6:00 PM Pacific/9:00 PM Eastern. We’d like to invite all Tank enthusiasts to join our attempt with this historical undertaking. Our goal is to get a full league of Tanks, but with 35+ Tankers joining the event, I think we have a good chance of success. But, we’re Tanks, so, the more the merrier! And, the closer we can get to full league the faster the raid will go. I’ll post more info in the next few days, as I get time. But in the meantime, please see the more recent pages of Tanker Tuesday posts under the Tanker forums for additional information about the event. Considered yourself invited and we hope you are able to join us!
  18. Funny you should ask that. I was just debating this myself. Probably not a bad idea. I'll get one going later tonight. Thanks for checking in and suggesting it.

    Rad or Invuln

Rad/Fire/Mu gives 6 to 8 AoEs depending on the build, sets, and what you count as an AoEs. Rad Armor Radiation Therapy (slotted for damage or proc'd out (note: I haven't gotten around to testing the proc'd out version)) Ground Zero (I slot with a KD proc) Fiery Melee Combustion Fire Sword Circle Mu Mastery Electric Fences Ball Lighting or Static Discharge (AoE vs Cone, personal preference here) (if you have room and can put both in you have another AoE) Incarnate Judgement Players choice (I like Ion)

    Berzerkers

    Tornadozerkers?
  21. Another fun TTT on Torch! Three teams, Katie Hannon, Numina, and an AV (with two mighty Tankers!). Thanks to all who lead teams, Kilo, Sail and Ronin. Next week (9/15) we're heading back Lor's server, Everlasting, for our next TTT! Meet in KR by IP gate at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, and we'll get rolling from there. Also, Remember the 29th is an all Tanker Hami on Excel! Bring your best level 50 Tank and show Hami that he's not all that! Take care and see you soon!
  22. Hey VV, No, Hami will be on the 29th this month, on Excel. We're on Torchbearer tonight. See sig ;)
  23. We had a good turnout tonight on Excel, and managed to get 2 Market Crash teams going, a Moonfire, and a Ouro flashback team. Remember at the end of the month we have an all Tanker Hami here on Excel! As always, thanks to all who lead missions and held the star! Next week starts the Tanker Tuesday Tour (TTT) off, on Torch 9/8. Meet in King's Row @ 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, by IP Gate and we'll get rolling from there. See ya' then!

    New Tank

Hi there, first up welcome to the wonderful world of Tanking in CoX! Next, as others have mentioned at the lower levels, you really won't be much of a Tank. The big shift comes at level 22 when you can start adding Single Origin Enhancements, or SOs (or depending on your think start slotting level 25 IOs. I personally tend to wait until level 30 or 35 depending on the power). The next biggest boost will be around level 32 when you've pretty much got all your Primary Powers in place and a number of attacks. Around level 40 is when the real magic happens as you've been able to slot up most of your main powers, add some IO sets, and maybe started your Epic Powers. So, on Tanks, it's a bit more of a ride until you get to the good stuff, but once there, you're on your way. Incarnate powers only add the fun that is Tanking in CoX. Also some 2ndry powers make leveling a little faster and more bearable, but again, this is a matter of personal taste, so ymmv. I'm not sure what to say about your missions. I think I've always been able to run Tanks at the basic level, admittedly they are a bit slower than other ATs, but they do start showing their survivability as soon as level 12 (when you can place DOs (Dual Enhancements)). A large team will definitely help while leveling up and waiting for your powers to mature, but by level 22 you should be able to solo fairly well. Also, try increasing the number of mobs, instead of level of them. Try to make it to a Tanker Tuesday! There's tons of Tank enthusiasts there and we're happy to help out. We run all game content as all Tanker teams and it's a good place to see how the different powers work together as well as different play styles.
  25. Or, just build a Stone Melee Tank and recharge the heck out of Fault. Scranker, you're evil. Make sure to bring that build to a TT so we can see it in action. ;)
