Hi all, Looks like we had a good one on Everlasting, sorry I was late joining tonight, had to do some work right before the event started. Thanks to all who lead teams and got the event rolling! We're back on Indomitable next week 9/22. Meet in KR by IP gate at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, and we'll get rolling from there. **Remember, Sept 29th it's Tanks vs Hami on Excel! Get your Tanker ready!**

Actually, while I have a minute, a few things more to have for the raid: 1) A method of Flight, by power set, or by temp power (jet packs are probably the best). 2) Ranged attacks, by power set is best, and at least the Nemesis Staff and Black Wand (from P2W vendor), other ranged temp power are fine, but I think they cycle a bit slower. 3) Holds, see post above. 4) Taunt, if you want to be on a/the Taunt team, you'll need this power. (only one Tank will be taunting Hami, but we'll have others on the Yellow Mitos).

Thanks for posting that VV, I'm a little slow this week. And, just to expand a little on what VV is saying, there are several options for additional holds to be had that don't involve respecing or rolling a new toon (for those sets that don't have them natively in the power set). 1) Change out your Origin power to Tranq Dart at the P2W vendor. You have to remove the current one, then add the Tranq Dart. 2) Gold Rings from the Ski Chalet. 3) Place a hold proc in a set that allows them. Examples: Blistering Cold, for Melee ST sets, Devastation for Ranged ST sets, etc... 4) Any other temp powers I'm forgetting... If your already have a set that has holds built into it, then picking up and additional set from the Epics would be a big help. Also adding the +2 mag procs will help. If your sets don't have a hold, and you were thinking about trying another Epic set, then by all means, please try one with a hold (Arctic, Earth, Pyre,...) Although I'd be thrilled if our hold team can lock down mitos on their own, this aspect of the raid is going to be our greatest challenge and likely a total group effort, so ANY hold you can provide will be a benefit and increase the chances of success!

Hi all, As part of the Tanker Tuesday (TT) theme and mantra (to run all content using only all Tanker teams), we’re going to attempt to fulfill one of our collective bucket list items and run an all Tanker Hami on September 29th, on Excel at the usual TT time 6:00 PM Pacific/9:00 PM Eastern. We’d like to invite all Tank enthusiasts to join our attempt with this historical undertaking. Our goal is to get a full league of Tanks, but with 35+ Tankers joining the event, I think we have a good chance of success. But, we’re Tanks, so, the more the merrier! And, the closer we can get to full league the faster the raid will go. I’ll post more info in the next few days, as I get time. But in the meantime, please see the more recent pages of Tanker Tuesday posts under the Tanker forums for additional information about the event. Considered yourself invited and we hope you are able to join us!

Funny you should ask that. I was just debating this myself. Probably not a bad idea. I'll get one going later tonight. Thanks for checking in and suggesting it.

Rad/Fire/Mu gives 6 to 8 AoEs depending on the build, sets, and what you count as an AoEs. Rad Armor Radiation Therapy (slotted for damage or proc'd out (note: I haven't gotten around to testing the proc'd out version)) Ground Zero (I slot with a KD proc) Fiery Melee Combustion Fire Sword Circle Mu Mastery Electric Fences Ball Lighting or Static Discharge (AoE vs Cone, personal preference here) (if you have room and can put both in you have another AoE) Incarnate Judgement Players choice (I like Ion)

Another fun TTT on Torch! Three teams, Katie Hannon, Numina, and an AV (with two mighty Tankers!). Thanks to all who lead teams, Kilo, Sail and Ronin. Next week (9/15) we're heading back Lor's server, Everlasting, for our next TTT! Meet in KR by IP gate at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, and we'll get rolling from there. Also, Remember the 29th is an all Tanker Hami on Excel! Bring your best level 50 Tank and show Hami that he's not all that! Take care and see you soon!

Hey VV, No, Hami will be on the 29th this month, on Excel. We're on Torchbearer tonight. See sig ;)

We had a good turnout tonight on Excel, and managed to get 2 Market Crash teams going, a Moonfire, and a Ouro flashback team. Remember at the end of the month we have an all Tanker Hami here on Excel! As always, thanks to all who lead missions and held the star! Next week starts the Tanker Tuesday Tour (TTT) off, on Torch 9/8. Meet in King's Row @ 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, by IP Gate and we'll get rolling from there. See ya' then!

Hi there, first up welcome to the wonderful world of Tanking in CoX! Next, as others have mentioned at the lower levels, you really won't be much of a Tank. The big shift comes at level 22 when you can start adding Single Origin Enhancements, or SOs (or depending on your think start slotting level 25 IOs. I personally tend to wait until level 30 or 35 depending on the power). The next biggest boost will be around level 32 when you've pretty much got all your Primary Powers in place and a number of attacks. Around level 40 is when the real magic happens as you've been able to slot up most of your main powers, add some IO sets, and maybe started your Epic Powers. So, on Tanks, it's a bit more of a ride until you get to the good stuff, but once there, you're on your way. Incarnate powers only add the fun that is Tanking in CoX. Also some 2ndry powers make leveling a little faster and more bearable, but again, this is a matter of personal taste, so ymmv. I'm not sure what to say about your missions. I think I've always been able to run Tanks at the basic level, admittedly they are a bit slower than other ATs, but they do start showing their survivability as soon as level 12 (when you can place DOs (Dual Enhancements)). A large team will definitely help while leveling up and waiting for your powers to mature, but by level 22 you should be able to solo fairly well. Also, try increasing the number of mobs, instead of level of them. Try to make it to a Tanker Tuesday! There's tons of Tank enthusiasts there and we're happy to help out. We run all game content as all Tanker teams and it's a good place to see how the different powers work together as well as different play styles.

Or, just build a Stone Melee Tank and recharge the heck out of Fault. Scranker, you're evil. Make sure to bring that build to a TT so we can see it in action. ;)
-
I was a bit late getting there, but looked like we had two teams running. Thanks to Agoogala for leading missions and to whoever lead the TF team. We're back on Excelsior next week 9/1. Meet in King's Row @ 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, by IP Gate! Don't forget, on the 29th all Tanker Hami here, on Excel!
-
Hi all, we're on Indom tonight, but I may be a bit late. Veteran TTers please feel free to get things up and running and I'll join in when I can. Hope to see you there!

Agreed, I just haven't decided on which Tank to test it with. But, it being the weekend, I should be able to find a willing subject. Didn't the radius on WM get increased with the recent Tanker love? I haven't tried WM here yet, but looks like I need to. ;)

Arctic and Pyre Mastery are both good choices for what we're attempting. Sorcery would be good if you need to add a ranged attack and a "Fly" power w/o using multiple power pool sets/choices. Generally speaking if everyone has a ranged attack from epic, Black Wand, and Nemesis Staff, we, as group, should have enough handle the Blue Mitos. I'd have to look more closely at the Experimental Set. I haven't really used it and am not familiar enough with them. If they too give you a ranged attack and a buff, it might be worth it. Basically we need to make sure Tanks can fly (jet packs or power), to get the upper Mitos. Have a ranged attack (see discussion above), for taking out the Blue Mitos. Have at least one hold from Epics if possible, if not any/all holds from temp powers, ski chalet and P2W vendor, to take out the Yellows (historically this has been our stall point). Incarnate powers and pets will be a big help as well. Beyond those, I think everything else is gravy.

I usually open up with RT for the debuff, then GZ for the KD, and then flow through my AoE attack chain, by the time I'm done, it's time for RT again, rinse repeat. I target bosses and above with STs as needed and fire of GZ when it's up again. It's amazing how fast you can burn down mobs when opening with RT, then applying it again when it's back up.
-
I haven't tried procing out RT, I'll have to give that a try. I have tried various slotting on Beta Decay and didn't really notice much happening procs wise. For me it isn't worth more than one, maybe two slots (if I'm feeling daring on the build). I like GZ as I've said because I use/slot it for KD. It works great and provides some healing for the team and is basically up at least once per mob, depending on level and difficulty settings. I'm still seeing one slot available at level 11 on the new build.

Good turnout tonight on Everlasting. Three teams, 2 missions one Lady Grey TF. Thanks for leading PapaSlade and Hera. We're back on Indomitable next week 8/25. Meet in KR by IP gate at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, and we'll get rolling from there. **Remember, Sept 29th it's Tanks vs Hami on Excel! Get your Tanker ready!**

Just my 2 infs worth: Radiation Therapy, I'd six slot with Preventative Medicine. If you want a proc in there, take only one. If understand procs (which is hard on my brain), I think on that power only one will fire at a time. Or, build it with all Oblitz. Beta Decay, only really needs one slot. On other builds if you have slots available feel free to give it more, but usually slotting beyond the one is overkill. Whirling Mace, I'd keep it, I like the power. I know some player do, some don't, I do. Ground Zero, I slot with Oblitz and the KD proc from Avalanche. It's up enough that I can use to keep mobs off their feet. Jawbreaker, do you need the proc in there? This will be a style of play call. If you noticing it adding significant damage, keep it. Otherwise the slot might be helpful elsewhere. Clobber, again, check the proc. If you changed that over to six Hecatomb you'd add 6% Psi resist (Tox won't really matter at this point). Other than those changes, I'd say it looks good. How does it play and how do you feel about it? ** Forgot to mention, did you know you still have 3 slots waiting to be used? The version of your Mids build that downloads shows 3 slots around level 44/45 that haven't been used.

We had three teams on Torch last night. Two ran Citadel, and one ran missions. Thanks to Hera, Sailboat and Agoogala for leading our teams! 8/18 we're back on Everlasting. Meet in KR by IP gate at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, and we'll get rolling from there. Reminder: Tank vs Hami on Excel on 9/29. Make sure you're tall enough for the ride and dress appropriately!

Another great run on Excelsior, Three teams to start, Sewer Trial - lead by Ultraaman, Ms. Liberty TF - lead by Kilo, and a missions team, which eventually split into two teams, thanks for leading on Scranker, then the it got a bit confusing as the TF/Trials teams finished, more teamage was in order. In short, thanks to all who lead and held the star. Much fun and leveling was had by all! Also, Sept 29th is Tanks vs Hami on Excel, so get your 50s ready for a once in a life time first! And... TTT on Torch 8/11. Meet in King's Row @ 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, by IP Gate and we'll get rolling from there. See you all in game!

Hi 11Troy11, 1. Nope, no minimum level. The only requirement is that you're a Tanker. 2. All Tanker power sets are welcome, any combo you want to run. 3. I believe you can make 5 transfer per month (?). Please don't quote me on this. Feel free to transfer to any events you want. Or, if you wish, you can roll a Tank on each server we're on. There is a TankHQ (our super group) on every server. Just let us know you need an invite to the group and one of us will send an invite. 4. Welcome to the event, hope to see you tomorrow!

We had two full team on Indom and smashed our way through the Yin TF. Tank teams 2, Clamor 0. Thanks to Witty and Kilo for leading teams! We're back on Excelsior (the home of TT) next week 8/4 for the start of August's TT's! Meet in King's Row @ 6pm PDT/9pm EDT, by IP Gate and we'll get rolling from there.

Shield/Fire the ultimate in flash/bang! Not sure I have the build, I'll have to look around.
