  1. In all seriousness (it happens), that looks kinda like the exhaust from the steam powered backpack.
  2. I slot those freebies from P2W as i get slots open and I will put drops in if needed, but buying enhancements? Nah. One caveat, though, so I guess I'm not 100% that way. In Praetoria, I will slot lvl15 IOs at 12 because Enriche apparently gives everyone Super Reflexes and perfect accuracy. A Praetorian is a once or twice a year project, though as opposed to the ludicrous number of blue and red side characters.
  3. I may get some side eyes for saying this, but I don't buy jack squat til level 22. From then til 50, I buy recipes (if I don't have them), craft and slot lvl 25 IOs (adding set IOs as I can). If I'm feeling the pinch before 22, I slot drops if needed, but usually I can do fine till 22 unslotted. I sell everything (unless I'm slotting it or its needed to craft regular IOs) and don't need to dip into cash from my higher level characters. As other have said, one Prismatic and you're pretty set, not to mention orange and yellow salvage. The merits flip cements financial independence. YMMV, but this works for me.
  4. Giant Magic Dude is such a great name. Snag it! Fast!
  5. I'm swimming in Performance Shifters...<.<....>.>.....how much for the pancreas?
  6. So, with the big influx of new folks, the group of old guard and all points in between we have a wide spectrum of players. Each of us has a reason we’re here. I think it’d be kinda cool to see what all brings and keeps us in the City. Devs and GMS are encouraged to reply as well. For me, this game is comfort food for the soul. It was my first real foray into MMOs. I played with people I knew and got to know the others in our SG (go Hrafn Warband!) and climbed out of my shell a lot. I’m a huge story buff and this game’s chock full of stories. Before COH, I really only played single player RPGs and would digest lore like there was no tomorrow. Getting to know this game’s world and it’s ever adapting story was and is still a treat. Then there’s the superhero slant. Huuuuuge comic book nerd that I am, this game was like a dream come true. I remember before getting into beta just hanging on the boards, shooting the breeze, swapping character concepts and Hero Machine pics. Sky-Hawke started in Hero Machine and grew from there. Such a great memory. When the game sunset, it sucked. A lot. When I found out about Homecoming, I was so excited I was telling everyone! So now, I’m here for all that I mentioned, the nostalgia, the warm fuzzy feeling of a comfortable blanket and to be a part of this community as the game marches on. In short, this is one of my happy places.
  7. Eh, don't sweat it. We will go round and round on one topic with each other and then be laughing in the next. We get heated because we love the game, but usually keep it just shy of hair pulling.
  8. Dunno. I do remember COH cracking down on things afterwards, and rightfully so. Do we want take the risk of thinking every copyright infringement we see is an employee of " Company X"? Not a shot at you (apologies if it sounds like it), I just know for almost 5 years a lot of us have had the "servers and forums are down...oh crap, is this it?" feeling enough times to be cautious. We're overprotective, but with reason.
  9. Option to do things like turn Fitness off? Cool, more options usually don't hurt anything. Make them off from the get go and force the majority of players to have to go claim them so a handful of people can be happy? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....<deep breath>....oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
  10. It's in progress! Here's to more stability! (Gotta have it somewhere in life, amiright?)
  11. You'd think that. Then you read about Disney dropping the hammer on some family because they found out they used an unsanctioned Spider-Man balloon at a kids birthday party. Yes, it makes sense in a common sense way, but copyright lawyers don't live in the land of common sense. They all have Mr Krabbs in their head going "money, money, money" at all times. So, no, playing COH and running around as XSpiderManX with a dead ringer costume will not make someone at Disney/Marvel be glad for the free advertising. It'll just make them release the hounds...on us. If any of us sound like a broken record, it's because we remember the past when Marvel came after COH on live and would rather not poke the bear.
  12. This. If someone's fee fees get stung because they can't play a carbon copy of Wolverine or Batman, I'll still sleep well at night. We walk a razors edge here, have for years and a "rules for thee but not for me" attitude won't fly.
  13. However, one of them will be a radiation defender and that one can #@$% right off.
  14. Welcome aboard! Now as a newbie, your first task is to go to the last page in the general forums, pick a topic and post in it. Trust me on this one. It'll be hilar...aweso........good for the community.
  15. I actually know what I'm doing now. 😅 I played Everquest for a hot minute before I realized it wasn't the usual rpg I played. COH was my first real shot at playing a MMO. I got better as time went on, but I was also playing on dial up (gasp!) so, lag and disconnects kept me from playing different ATs to their potential a lot of times. Near sunset, we got dsl and I played more, but was totally clueless on the invention system and was just figuring out the Incarnate stuff. Since then, I've played lots of other MMOs, figured out how to play different roles in a team or solo and hopefully am a better player for it.
  16. Literally in their first post is a call to have base items locked behind prestige badges. That's what got most hackles up. That's the slippery slope to "haves", 'have nots" and the friction that causes. Homecoming has gotten along swimmingly without Prestige for almost 5 years. Why rock the boat now?
  17. You know we have a vampire in this community right? 😅
  18. Agreed. I've been running a tank solo through redside, doing as much as possible and there's been times I've actually sat back in my chair and stared at the screen with wide eyes over the totally awful thing the game let me do. Sure, the lower level stuff makes you feel like a flunky, but after awhile you hit those "oh, they're not really gonna let me...oh #@$^ that guy's dead!" moments.
