  2. Double xp on two newe servers until Wednesday.. level 10 easily done in 30-45 mins in sewers. I highly recommend Ninjitsu.
  3. Sentinels to me are a combo of blaster/scrappers (blappers). With their inherent power they do good damage imo. As far as resistance/defense goes... I don't mess with resistance on a lot of toons...usually defense. All of my Sentinels have capped defense without having to resort to weird powers or diminished abilities (acc/dam/end/rech). What do they bring? Survivability and damage. I can stay in the background and blast away and let the Defenders and Controllers worry about my squishier cousin the blaster. I looked at fire/fire Sentinels but meh not my cup of tea... I have: Fire/Super Reflexes Energy/Energy Sonic/Ninjitsu Ice/Ice As for the damage they are JUST below Blasters and like I said with the inherent they have you can put out some very good damage. I would definitely encourage you to try one... but would push you to try a defense secondary.

  5. The level I take powers changes from Mids to actual live. I would take it asap and delay something else generally. I did this build super quick to figure out slotting etc.

  8. I get the frustration - I really do. I also completely understand it from the Homecoming team perspective. I know they are working their butts off to resolve issues and spending way more than they originally thought they would need to spend on the game both in time and money. Unfortunately...it is the nature of the beast. Torchbearer is barely a week old...Excelsior 3 days old...and the other two barely 12 hours online. No one...not even me... expected there would be 8,000+ players trying to play the game. I figured if we could get 4000-5000 we would be expecting too many players. While it is a great thing that so many people want to play - it has also caused issues which no one saw coming. Homecoming is barely a week old and they have made a lot of progress. Give it 2-3 more weeks and things will have calmed down and been resolved. I know that does nothing now for people who want to play now, but in the long run I think things will be much better for the community overall. I am not a "Homecoming fan boi" but I am a realist and I am humbled and appreciative of the tasks they have taken on to bring the game back to life.
  9. I think you should also take into consideration that they are not being paid to do any of this and instead are paying out of their pockets to bring the game back to players. While I get the frustration (I have experienced it as well) - please remember that this is something they do aside from their 40+ hour work weeks - which they are having to do to pay their bills AND the bills for these servers. Expecting things to be as quick and communicative as a professional team working 40+ hours ON the actual game per week is a bit much. Just know that these people love this game...this community..and are doing their absolute best they can under the circumstances. They are paying thousands per month just so they can bring the game back to us all... for free.
  10. I do not have much experience with Nature Affinity. To me it is a combo of Empathy/Radiation with their debuffs/buffs/heals. Time on the other hand I have a lot of experience and love for the set. I find the heal/debuffs/buffs to all be impressive. If you wanted more damage I would say Time/Fire...if you are looking for a mixture of damage and debuff you could do Time/Dark, Time/Sonic, or Time/Radiation.

    Back in pre-sunset CoH I had a level 50+++ Dark/Dark Defender. There were many different ways a Dark/Dark could be played; even more so if you were a Dark/Dark/Dark. I was never a fan of the D3, but I did love my D2. I have not remade this character yet as I am not sure which server I will be putting them on. This character is good solo or on teams. It is soft capped to ranged defense and decent melee/aoe defense as well. One of the benefits of a dark/dark is the amount of -tohit and -res the powers contribute to your survivability and damage.     I had a level 50+++ Storm/Ice Defender on pre-sunset CoH and thought I would recreate them. Defenders and Corruptors have always been appealing to me - more so Corruptors due to their increased damage.   13. Quite a bit of posts have been started on the subject. Some want Excelsior to be the "Virtue" of the new servers. Your best bet is to look for a SG that is into RP as that will allow you to easily hang out with like-minded players. I do not know of any because I am not into RP.
  14. Empathy Defenders are quite sought after; especially without all the fancy IOs out there yet. The buffs they bring can help any AT railroad through missions at high difficulties.
  15. You're right - I am not gullible enough to believe in such a thing. There is no "policing" the game by users outside of GMs. Whoever you are in talks with is not an official representative of Homecoming or any of their servers.
  16. Anyways - not gonna happen. GMs have already been chosen. I hope you realize that whoever you are talking to is pulling your leg. No one official is going to auto 50 you and give you the ability to IO your character. There are no players who go around policing the streets of Paragon for mischief.   22. I think once the servers are more stable they will look at introducing events. I miss rikti invasions but can only imagine the laaaaaaaag one would cause right now. Give it a lil bit of time though and I am sure we will start to see such things.
  23. Thankfully I have yet to see any rp on Excelsior. Just not my thing. I tried Virtue for a month or so, but found the rp to be grating on my nerves. I prefer to actually play the game by advancing, min/maxing my character, and not stand around role playing. Again..not my thing, but hey if that's what you like - it's your $15...err uhhm... it is your time. As for an official rp server - please don't. Because then you are saying that my friends and I shouldn't be there because all we want to do is missions and advance our characters without all the rp. Giving players less options isn't the move to do. No one is stopping you from rping now - telling others how they must play on a server seems a bit cliquish. How about people just rp wherever they want...and others can choose not to rp wherever they want..on whatever servers they all want.

There are times you want to help the team and not have to be responsible fo rothers health/fortitude/etc... so I came up with my Archery/Trick Arrow Corruptor. This character is not built with soft cap defense, but it's not needed when you consider everything it can do to the baddies; especially their -tohit, -damage, and the -defense it does to them. This is definitely a character which is best played at range - which is not something I was used to even with my "non-melee" characters (controllers and other corruptors). I have not remade this character yet as I have been busy with around 8 other ones, but it is definitely on my list of characters to get back to 50!   25. This character became my main pre-sunset - from the moment Time became an option. Fire/Time Corruptors can be loads fun and do quite a bit of damage without worrying about survival. My Fire/Time had the Recharge Alpha and the -Mez Incarnate Power so even stuns/holds were not an issue. Perma Hasten Perma Build Up + Farsight Soft capped defense to everything...even Psi.
