I see major issues with this. You will have empathy defenders who can basically tank because they clear mind, fortitude, and Adrenaline Boost themselves. Force Fielders who will be at the Defense cap and can't be mezzed.... Etc etc etc
-
I think you meant that for another thread about the Summer Blockbuster and Praetorians.
-
I guesst you download Pine Mids - this will allow you to see what powers to take...and what enhancemets to put in each power. The "best" set(s) depend on what type of bonuses you areg going for etc. https://mega.nz/?fbclid=IwAR0AlGyVbfejioQvgB8E28izGncWrrkMZR712eOxw-mg-tGWGMQu6VlYXg8#!qFEFTCLQ!XkqDAVafa_48bl7xYa0WFkqGNBVDXApSnpm6Keie3e8\

It could be your slotting/power choices. My Sentinel is 50 and solos quite easily without any "eek" moments. Water/Ninjitsu. Regen looks meh on Sentinels.

I just don't see the need for this at all - even as a "quality of life" improvement. What we have is actually WAY better than what was on live where you had to choose each and every veteran item - lemme tell you when you got up to 5-6 years worth of rewards THAT was a pain LOL. The P2W vendor is literally a few yards away from where you spawn and doesn't take but 2 minutes to select everything - especially once you have done it 5-10 times.

Name Release Policy - Feedback and Suggestions
Burnt Toast replied to Stan The Man's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
1. It's basically cutting off 5 seconds compared to logging in... at least they are doing something with the character. 2. Flagging an account does not stop people from making level one characters en masse - so then all they have to do to keep their names is login once a month to any character. 3. No new server. Why should Homecoming have to create and code for a new server and incur the costs and resources for such a vocal minority? 4. It is NOT very likely that the naming policy will change and your assumption that it will is without merit. You asked for feedback on the naming policy - just because you do not like the feedback does not mean your points were lost - it could simply mean no one thought your points were needed. -
Homecoming Server Update (May 20th): What's Next?

I am with you on both of those... While I do use discord and I am in the Homecoming channel on discord... I don't USE it for my information - I use the forums. And to show even more how "out of touch" I am with social media... I loathe twitter, instagram, and snapchat lol.

Homecoming Server Update (May 20th): What's Next?
Burnt Toast replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
The definition of the word "hoard" as I used it has no bearing on number but rather on the storage of things unused. I don't care if you have 2 or 200 names - if you can't be bothered to log them in then you are hoarding them and making it so those names cannot be used by someone else. One of the more vocal people in this thread spoke of their 100+ alts which is why I on occasion have used that number. To me...hoarding...is keeping something that is not being used regardless of the actual number. Your "hours online" proposal makes no sense and won't help those people who are the most vocal in this thread as they simply make a character and never play it again...so they have the name. Your suggestion makes no sense to me because if a character is logging in and accumulating 20-40-60-100 hours... they are logging in and will not be affected by this policy. (I say that in a non-confrontational way because I don't see how a character being played for 40 hours is in danger...because they're not). I actually have an unpopular opinion regarding this... I think a level 50 should not be immune... I think they should get 1-2 years max and then their name is freed up. Same concept - if it is that important to you... log it in. Maybe stop assuming everyone who is remotely opposed to this change is a name hoarder. For MY part, this new policy will basically not effect me. At present I have all of .. 6 characters, most of whom are already past the 20 mark so are safe for a year, and even then most of my characters have names that I could probably let lapse without losing them, anyways. I am someone who plays the game many different ways. I farm, I power level, I slow roll, I roleplay, I badge hunt, I may even get back in to base building... so I see this policy from the perspective of all of these things, which is why I posed the adjustment of making it level OR hours played, it offers the same protections to multiple play styles as opposed to making someone feel they need to change their play style to ensure they don't lose their name. I completely agree there needs to be a name release policy, because great names going unused because of hoarders or inactive players kinda sucks. I just think the name release policy shouldn't almost exclusively favor people who play fast. -
Homecoming Server Update (May 20th): What's Next?
Burnt Toast replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
Then Zolgar has nothing to worry about does he..since he plays his characters and logs them in... In two posts he compares a powerleveled 50 getting their name permanently to someone who isn't level 6.. Maybe instead just say a level 50 character since truly it is not that hard to get to 50 in less than 50 hours without ever PLing. My first 50 had 56 hours when they dinged 50...never saw an AE or any other type of farm. I do all kinds of things when I am logged in... socialize, farm, base edit, TFs, radio missions. I also have quite a few alts - not in the 100+ area but 50ish and I have NO problem logging them in once a month. If you can't be bothered to take the ONE MINUTE it takes to log in your character with a name that is so precious to you - that says a lot. I swear people will complain about anything. You have the game back. You don't have to pay one penny to play. The game isn't about hoarding names it is about actually PLAYING the game whether that be street sweeping, radio missions, PUGs, TFs, roleplaying, powerleveling, etc... the point is you actually PLAY or at a frickin minimum log in to show that you care about that character for one minute a month. You keep talking about characters that have hundreds of hours played - those characters are not in jeopardy of anything since they are being played. What some people are complaining about are their 100+ alts/names they have created that they haven't bothered to log in to for days..weeks..a month... THAT is what this policy is about. It is not about punishing low level Roleplayers because... if you are roleplaying - you are logging in! This policy is very similar to what was on CoH Live and what a lot of MMOs do to cut down on name hoarders or people who sell names. The time people have spent arguing how unfair this is on the boards they could have spent logging into their alts...just saying. Lord knows if I were that concerned... that's what I would do. I'm sorry you don't like the rule - there are a lot of rules I don't like too, but I am able to see them from every perspective in a mature unselfish way. I personally think AE should be at 100% rewards, BUT I understand that it is a huge server resources hog...so it doesn't bother me. I understand there is a influence limit placed on rare salvage - that will cost me hundreds of millions in influence, but I also understand it isn't about me, but the community as a whole. I think the multi-boxing rule is too strict, but again... I understand it is for the betterment of the community as a whole. Maybe...just maybe.. stop trying to see this issue as being about you and/or your friends... and see it as an issue that affects everyone in the community. I mean isn't that what everyone claims is so great about City of Heroes... the community... because frankly what I am seeing here from some people who oppose the name change kind of spits in the face of that reputation. I don't see where Zolgar is assuming that all (or even most) 50s were powerleveled there, only that some are. His point, as I read it, is that RPing a character for 100 hours should provide the same name protection as that enjoyed by a character that was PLed to 50 in 10 hours, even if the 100-hours-of-RP character is still at a very low level. This doesn't presume that all 50s were PLed and, in fact, it would grant permanent name protection to some slow-road 50s prior to their reaching the level cap, since it could take them over 100 hours to get there. I am mildly curious about how you think that Zolgar would get his RP characters up to 100 hours played if he didn't "set aside 1 hour a month to log in [his] characters" (indeed, it would have to be more than one hour a month, unless he was taking over 8 years to hit the 100-hour mark) or if he "never log[ged] into" those characters. -
It's a farmer - there is no need for all those procs. There is no Psi damage in either farm so seems wasteful. Mez resistance... meh... with all the farming they will be doing it won't take long to tier 3 Clarion for perma mez resistance. They are not working on a defensive build so it seems wasteful to get the +def procs - that's a lot of money to get only 6% defense when they are nowhere near the soft cap even with them. This build is way to end heavy - If transference misses you will definitely be hurting for endurance. Throw an end reducer in hot feet as well as your other 5. Put a second end reducer in acrobatics. In tough/weave diverify your sets to include more def/end and res/end (the bonuses from the third one of each of those sets you have is meh) Make transference 6 slots and use Efficacy Adapter instead - better bonuses. You have grossly overslotted fulcrum shift - you have tactics so you do not need that much accuracy and there's no purpose in having it up faster than every 20 seconds which can be done with just one recharge IO - so 1 acc and 1 rech and you will be fine. My 2 inf.
-
It's absolutely possible, but it also requires a lot of recharge bonuses that can be costly.
-
I haven't heard much chatter on this server - I know one of the other servers has done a few Hami raids. Here's hoping stuff like that and Incarnate trials start happening with greater frequency.
-
Just a note: You do not need to do Mender Ramiel's arc to unlock the Incarnate UI - once you hit (and level up to) 50 you start earning Incarnate experience and the UI is available.
-
Except if you decide to get Blackwand and that is account bound and then take an origin which has a bonus with Nemesis staff there is no way to change that. All purchases per toon are permanent and cannot be changed. So if you choose ninja run - you can't just switch that to beast run for an animal themed character you create for example. I think it would be way more of a headache coding wise to implement this than the 2 minutes it takes to simply visit the p2w vendor and make your selections.

Would it be possible to remove/reverse ED?
Burnt Toast replied to Atlas_Carter's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
tarpatch has a 90 second recharge and a duration of 45 seconds. With hasten and two recharge enhancements at level 50 - it is available every 35 seconds... 1 recharge it is up at 42 seconds... so........ No need to twink anything with IOs. -
Homecoming Server Update (May 20th): What's Next?
Burnt Toast replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
Maybe stop assuming that people who are 50 powerleveled their way there - its' insulting (and frankly shows bias) and does nothing for your stance. The naming policy is absolutely fair. If you are not playing or at a minimum logging into a character it should be freed up. Seriously - if you are THAT concerned set aside 1 hoour a month to log in to your characters. Your desire to hoard names that you never log into shouldn't limit people when it comes to naming. Sure they can, if a significant amount of people play that way, that portion of the population deserves recognition. I have just as much right to be attached to the name of a character who is only level 6, but I have spent over 100 hours roleplaying, as you do a 50+ fully IO'd character you played for 10 hours and then decided to shelf for some other project build. Note, I do not say I have MORE right to the name. I said I have just as much right to be attached to the name, and I should not be forced to powerlevel the character to 50 to get the name locked in, any more than you should be forced to spend 100 hours playing a character to get the name locked in. This is why my suggestion was to add a second check. Is the character x level? If yes, pass. If no, has the character spent y hours logged in? If yes, pass. If no, the name is released. It benefits a subset of the community, offering them the same protection without forcing them to change their play style to get said protection. -
Homecoming Server Update (May 20th): What's Next?

Well you may want to do your research. From your posts I see you like to RP and have morality issues with some things.... not sure which of these other servers you think will suit the needs of your group and meet your standards. Just an FYI this IS going to go into effect - it wasn't a suggestion or something they asked for a community vote on... it is a new rule/standard of the Homecoming server. Sorry you are so bent out of shape about a name of a character that you can't be bothered to spend 1 minute a month logging into that you feel you need to leave. Then again if you were actually playing the characters that you are so worried about losing the names on... it really wouldn't be an issue. FYI using hyperbole to "reinforce" your statement is a bit much. This policy will not create any type of exodus that you think it will. Good luck on another server. -
Not gonna happen...nor should it.

What is your first City of Heroes memory.
Burnt Toast replied to Jaguaratron's topic in General Discussion
My very first memory of CoH.... I saw a television advertisement for the game (Yep). I was like HOLY $#@*!!! I immediately paused and rewound the recording and had my husband (ex-husband now) come look. He explained what MMO meant to me and that sounded amazing. This was like 9 or 10pm... so I threw on some clothes and headed to WalMart and purchased it. I was all excited when I got home to play only to realize my computer did not have enough graphics memory to play.... So my husband installed it on his computer. He sat there with me explaining how to movie forward etc. I had never played ANY game before so had no clue what I was doing. Doing Outbreak I was actually afraid I would die and had no clue what would have happened if I did. My first character was an Ice/Ice blaster who I abandoned shortly afterwards... his name was: Frigidareu. (eyeroll). I was stuck with that global forever it seems. But my second character soon became my names sake and what people knew me by: Fixxer. -
Homecoming Server Update (May 20th): What's Next?

I have absolutely no issues with this naming policy. I'm sorry but if you can't be bothered to get to level 6 (which literally takes 15 minutes) and then log in every 90 days thereafter - then really how important can that character and/or name be to you? I have the same names of a few characters on three of the servers... some of them are only level 1 because well... I don't want another Fixxer running around. So I will probably log them in ... get to level 6 and then relog them in every 60 days (just to make sure I don't forget it). Because that's what you do when something is truly that important to you... you take the 15 minutes initially and the 1.5 mins every 90 days to keep the name. People threatening to quit over this... talk about hyperbolic reactions. -
Earth.... that's all I will say (not really). Earth control is my absolute favorite control set. There is only two powers I avoid (The tier 1 immobilize and Salt Crystals). I see you like ice slick.. well Earthquake is just as good and has a nice -10% defense and -tohit on the bad guys. Then of course you have Quicksand which aside from slowing baddies also makes it so they cannot jump away...fly and also has a -25% defense added to them. Then you have a nice aoe hold which I use as my panic button in volcanic gases... another patch aoe that I lay down if the battle goes on too long and stalagmites hasn't recharged yet or as an addition to stalagmites to lock down even more in a group. Your pet is a lil tanker made of stone who in my opinion isn't as dumb as fire imps :) My main character on live...and here... is an Earth/Kin Controller. Once you get fulcrum shift you can cause quite a bit of damage. I chose stone mastery as my epic for the defensive shield, the targeted aoe, and the +max hp powers. If you are not a fan of /kin I would suggest /rad and then you could really debuff and control enemies which would be useful on any team or TF.

I have played with exactly two people out of hundreds that were not vets to my knowledge. I am not saying there are not SOME people who are currently playing for the first time, but I do not believe it is a large amount at all. Maybe it is different on Torchbearer or Exalted, but Indomitable seems to be mainly comprised of veterans. And while Indomitable may be the unofficial official pvp server... there really isn't much pvping going on so I don't think that has much (if any) of an impact. I think more new people see the "business aka redness" of Torchbearer and think "That's the server for me with lots of people" not realizing that the other servers; except Reunion, have a very steady amount of players. The first I can see.... the second is a gross assumption. I've seen a LOT of newbies that never got the chance to play CoH before because it was "before their time" that are hopping onboard the train now. Let's give them a chance as well to learn the way we did, eh?
-
You do realize the vast majority of people playing on Homecoming... were here back in 2004 when the game launched right? You realize there is not some huge new base of players who have never played CoH before...right? Most of the people I know that are rushing to 50 are doing so because they had that toon at 50 on live and simply want to return to the level of gameplay they were at. And story missions.. uhhh ok. It's all pretty repetitive and frankly boring - especially when you have done them multiple times years ago. It's not like re-reading a great book..it's like being told to re-read the build instructions on a piece of IKEA furniture.
