  1. So back on live I edited bases... a lot. One of the things I liked to do was use a 2x2 piece of flooring (tech flooring?). It was white with grid lines on it. I would elevate it and then start laying desks on it etc for my second floor. I could have sworn it was located in ROOM DETAIL, but I cannot find it in there. I have looked other places, but still cannot find it. Any ideas where it went? It is translucent from the bottom..super thin..and you can overlap them to cover a larger area of the room. Anything that can sit on top of something...can be placed on it.
  2. In other words the OP is impatient and wants to change it so that they can save some influence. All a system like the one proposed would do is inflate prices. I know if I post something for 3,333,333 that someone is going to be impatient and give me either 3,500,000 or 4,000,000. Now if you can see the actual sell price... I am going to list it at 4 million. All salvage prices will increase to JUST below their seeded amounts - whereas now most rare salvage is sitting between 800-900k. It is an absolute NO from me. Your impatience and desire to save some influence because you "Need it now!" is not a valid reason to change a system that works just fine the way it is.
  3. Really hoping you can get the adaptations in Bio Armor to work correctly. Would love to actually see the numbers on a few builds I have been working on. :) Appreciate all you have done!
  4. God mode powers like Tier 9 in melee sets make absolute sense to me as does their "crash." You are saying to nerf one ability which makes a set on par with other melee sets yet asking for a God Mode with no crash? Do I think they could be tweaked somewhat to say a 70% end drain with no recovery for like 10 seconds..sure... but they literally are God mode so they must be expensive and have long recharges imo. The complaint here is that the Rage drop kills you. I find crashing T9s infinitely worse than Rage. Pop 2 purples as Rage is about to crash and all you have to worry about now is the -damage which you can use prestige attacks to bypass. Crashing T9s on the other hand are literally the worst idea the original devs had that managed to stay in the game. >.>
  5. HUGE difference between Rage and Tier 9 abilities... HUGE. Rage doesn't give you defense...instead it now takes it from you.
  6. By your logic - I have never seen anyone in game complain about the changes to MSR or DFB either so that must not be something that is irritating people either. Anecdotal evidence aside - it is obviously an issue for some people who have posted here and on discord. Just because you do not see it doesn't mean 1372 (made up number) people are not happy with a change made to something in the game. I know probably 8-9 people in-game angry over the change - and one who has left for another server without this "fix." It's one thing to add things to the game to increase players experiences, but another to take things away that existed for years because of a perceived imbalance that frankly does nothing but actually make SS on par with other sets. If you looked at the actual numbers you would see that even with perma rage - SS is NOT the top performing set damage wise; especially when you take into account the type of damage it does. A proper team is "literally anything with Maneuvers, any other kind of team +Def buffs, any kind of ToHit debuffs, any kind of pretty much anything." If you aren't at 65%+ Defense as a Tank or Brute on a team, especially as the only Tank or Brute on that team, I question your teammates' build decisions. Seriously, I don't remember the last time I was on a team at level 50 where my Invul tank wasn't at 90%+ Defense, let alone 65%. And that's including pugs. I've yet to meet an SS tank or Brute in game that's complained about the Defense crash at all. Not a single one. Never seen one die because of it, either.
  7. It is being awarded properly. It still gives more xp than what Live did with xp boosts (which are free). That's probably a good thing; we can't have people play the content that they want and actually get rewarded properly now can we?
  8. A few of my friends were going to quit because they couldn't find teams to do anything BUT DFB. They wanted to actually play the game and not farm DFB. I never said these friends weren't silly in their logic. I do think his friends are silly because DFB is still there and apparently they love to farm it ...which they still can. My friends could have gotten xp as well...albeit at a much reduced rate because it would have only been teams of 3-4 fighting actual enemies that required you to use some strategy to gain xp. Like I ALSO said... I personally don't care. But I mean if he is going to throw out anecdotal "evidence" then some am I. There are two sides to this issue. One side was hurt because a lot of people avoided actual content until their 20's-30s because "lolz DFB." Those people can still mindlessly spam a few powers to their heart's content, but it may take a few more runs of it to achieve the same results. And now my friends who actually enjoyed doing missions, using their powers as they leveled up, etc... have said they have less issues finding teams... everyone wins. Me... couldn't care less. I just get annoyed with the hyperbole and tantrums over something so trivial in a video game. I will continue to avoid DFB and continue PLing my (and my friends) alts to 50 so we can do incarnate stuff, IO our toons, get accolades, and challenge ourselves with duo/trio runs of TFs etc. So no... nothing hypocritical at all in my statement. I think most people arguing on the internet over a hero video game are silly...especially when it's free and boosted beyond the original in so many ways. you realize nothing else was changed right? so those other options are still just as inefficient, just now DfB is inefficient as well. It's a common tactic, nerf things down to be as bad as everything else instead of buffing things to be as good as other options. I had a couple of friends that I played with, who have actually quit the game because of this (not this change to dfb, the fact that nothing else really gives any kind of reward equal to the time being put in). To quote one of them "Idk, while DFB was the reason for me quitting it should also be said that while it was nerfed if nothing else was buffed to fill the void of leveling properly then that will be a very annoying thing for me. If DFB can barely move you past 15, and DIB stops being effective at 30, something needs to pick the pace up. And if all there is left is questing for hours per level I won’t feel the wish to play." Let me get this straight. His friends were silly for quitting due to their play style being restricted, but your friends wanting to quit because they chose to do DFB even though they didn’t have to aren’t? Hypocritical much?
  9. A "proper" team? Really? Have you played CoH? There is no trinity needed to play. So you are saying a SS Brute/Tank should play with a Cold/Time Defender/Corruptor or Emp Defender at all times to compensate for the -20% defense crash? Talk about niche! Do you have a 50 SS character? Should SS tanks have to play backup tank only? That 10 seconds is a long time when going head to head with an AV/GM/EB. That 10 seconds in any level 50 content with a team sized mission of x4 or more can be quite problematic. Just because you don't think it isn't a problem doesn't mean it isn't one experienced by many players doing various types of content. FYI it was not a "bug" on live - the devs never "fixed" it to what it is now because they knew that doing so would have caused a poop storm of epic proportions. You honestly think it couldn't have been "fixed" by the actual devs easily? They knew how to fix it... they chose not to because it wasn't seen as a game breaking issue whereas "fixing" it would have pissed off a lot of people (kind of like now where people are abandoning their SS characters left and right because this "fix" was slipped in). I have one friend whose main was a SS Brute on live for years...he came back just to replay that character that he loved for so long only to find out it was "fixed" - he has since left Homecoming because his character was nerf-slapped. He went to one of the I-24 servers which sucks because I refuse to go to them because they do not have Sentinels. Just sucks because we waited for 6.5 years to play together...
  10. Citadel can easily be done in 90-100 minutes. It's rewards are already consistent with the 20 merits per hour factor.
  11. The announcement thread - where you also posted this is the OFFICIAL feedback to that announcement. There was no need for this suggestion as you have already posted it in another (official) thread. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the changes to DFB - it is now more in-line with its intended purpose as a very low level trial to introduce people to the LFG concept, teaming, etc. It was never meant to be ran until level 32 and frankly it should have it's xp cut even sooner - then maybe people will run the DiB trial and actually start to use some of their powers and learn more about game mechanics.
  12. I had friends who were thinking of quitting because they hated doing DFB over and over and instead wanted to do things like Hollows, but finding people to do those things was rough because "lolz I can get to 22 in an hour from DFB." They have decided to stay and said that finding teams for 10-17 is already way easier. Your friends sound silly - especially with the xp boosters being free. They would have never survived on LIVE where double xp was a rarity limited to a few weekends a year. Maybe as a friend you should have explained to them the various ways to get to 50. As for "leveling properly" uhhh if perma double xp wasn't enough to get them to stay - I doubt they would have stayed no matter what was done. you realize nothing else was changed right? so those other options are still just as inefficient, just now DfB is inefficient as well. And if all there is left is questing for hours per level I won’t feel the wish to play."
  13. I work more than I did when CoH was LIVE...but don't have an issue with this. I have more responsibilities and less time to play the game. You have done the content "many times over" and yet you still want to do the DFB many times over..... There is absolutely no indication that any missions will be nerfed. Suggesting such a thing is nothing but a slippery slope argument made off of a couple changes to bring rewards in line with other content. There is already WAY more Oomf than LIVE - which was also free at the end of it's time. You can always have double xp... you have every costume piece available..new power sets.. etc etc. There is only so much that can be done to "incentivize" people to play and stay. This "nerf" does not affect your ability to play the way you were...it simply means it may take you 1 or 2 more runs of DFB to get to where you want to get.
  14. Most people use Pine Mids - an offline hero builder which allows you to see exact numbers, slot enhancements, etc. https://mega.nz/?fbclid=IwAR0AlGyVbfejioQvgB8E28izGncWrrkMZR712eOxw-mg-tGWGMQu6VlYXg8#!qFEFTCLQ!XkqDAVafa_48bl7xYa0WFkqGNBVDXApSnpm6Keie3e8\
  15. You don't know me at all LOL. I have 9 level 50's already and roughly 1 billion liquid inf after completely IOing them. Never use AE. I don't have a brute farmer or a fire/kin. I do PL myself (and a few friends). Takes me a day (8 hours) to get to 50 with xp boosts. I am not new to CoX - played from launch until the last second it was Live without any break in between on my 2 paid accounts. I just think the arguments FOR maintaining the DFB are completely hyperbolic. DFB does not teach you anything after the first few runs. People who run it to 32-50 do not know how to team or play any better than had they stopped at 10. They don't know anything about their powers better. They don't have a FEEL for the character since they are limited to powers up until level 10. What they have discovered is farming...and playing against enemies which frankly have very little chance of doing much damage - which is in no way indicative of the actual game I actually don't care about the DFB changes... I just think if you are going to make an argument against them changing it... they should be actual arguments and not hyperbolic, childish threats, or flat out untruths. I do think people are blowing this WAY out of proportion. I do think people are acting like petulant brats over something so minor. The purpose of DFB was never to get to 32 - it was to get you to DiB level which no one runs because it takes a modicum of actually knowing your character to do. The "nerfs" in this last patch still have the rewards of both DFB and MSR being WAY above anything that was on live...but people will find anything to complain about and act like ungrateful 6 year olds. Actually, I said exactly what I meant. I’m highly disappointed. Mad would mean I’m a bit emotional over a game mechanic. Which I’m not. I don’t like playing with anyone who attempts to force me to play “their way or the highway.” Which is basically what you just outlined here and in a few other posts in this thread. I have the highway model well within my grasp (as does everyone). And I get you don’t want an “I win” button, nor do you prefer to level quickly. That’s fine, I’ve no intention nor desire to prevent you from playing however you wish. I once leveled a blaster wayyyyyy back in like issue 5 days from 1-50 totally solo and via missions (not street sweeping) just to prove to myself I could when everyone was complaining that blasters were far too squishy to survive. It was darn annoying at times, and almost all of this was pre-IO, but I did it. Because I wanted to play my way....not teamed with controllers and defenders as most blasters were told to do. Your tone indicates a level of superior condemnation that I want to play that way, but its interesting to me how little I care how YOU prefer to play. In fact, I hope that your preferred play style remains fully available to you. But regardless of your beliefs, I remain very disappointed in this change. Not the change itself, but in the precedent that it represents. Once again, years after being mothballed, the game is available to play. And once again, there’s a chorus of players who really insist that the game only be played however they believe it must be played. Forced teaming, forced soloing, I shouldn’t have to go into a PVP zone to earn a PVP badge/drops/whatever, Regen is too strong nerf them, Burn needs to be changed, put a timer on the wolf mission, etc etc etc. I’d really hoped this mentality was left in mothballs. Judging by your post....it appears its alive and well. For what reasons I can’t fathom. Other than a deep seated need to impose one players’ will on that of the entire population in the name of balance of powers, time, effort or just egos. Interesting lesson in psychology.
  16. Might I suggest Pine Mids... that will tell you all you need to know about how powers will perform. Honestly, it wasn’t about learning more. It was a good way to get up to low to mid 30s to test out a new powerset combination. Many, perhaps even most, of us are veterans from live. The low levels are boring and a lot of people do t want to slog through then just to see if their powerset combination is worth investing more time into. Getting to mid 20s quickly and having a bit more of the build gives a better (though still incomplete) picture. The reasons for nerfing it was silly. People running through DFB to however many levels they wanted wasn’t hurting others. The mass majority of complaints I see from anti DFB posts were: - People should do the content instead just like me. Nothing is stopping people from doing the content if they so wish. - People doing DFB makes it harder for me to team. Again, no it doesn’t. Never had a problem filling a non-DFB team quickly. - It’s annoying seeing DFB advertised in LFG. LFG channel is for looking for group. So why shouldn’t people use it to fill a group for DFB. If you don’t want to join just ignore it. I don’t have a problem ingoring the myriad of LFG posts that I don’t feel like participating in at the moment be they for DFB or otherwise. - People shouldn’t level up so fast. Again, why? Why does this hurt someone who wants to do it slowly? It doesn’t. Nothing prevents people from leveling as slowly or as quickly as they want. None of these reasons are compelling in my opinion. Most of them are about restricting how another player enjoys playing the game, even though it has no bearing on how they themselves are able to play. It does not enhance other content. It just restricts a popular content. I always like more options. Not less. And this does not open up more options. The alternatives were always there. People just chose not to do them. This also will do nothing about getting people to play more story arcs or other similar content in lower levels. The same people who wanted to get passed the low levels quickly will still do DFB or AE, or find a power leveler. The same people who want to do Kings row story arcs will still do those. And they will still complain about people leveling too fast. So I’m the end, I highly doubt it will change any behavior (although the venue may change somewhat). People will still complain about people playing the game a different way than they want them to. All this does it make DFB less rewarding for people who enjoy leveling up new alts quickly. None of the root behaviors are changed and thus it is a meaningless nerf. Even so, the devs are the boss and I’m playing their game. So I will take it in stride. I have no intentions of leaving and very much appreciate all that they have done. I’m bound to not like some decisions made, but honestly that doesn’t matter. All that matters is that I still get to play, for which I am very grateful.
  17. The hyperbole is strong with this one. The DFB nerf is foolish at best and highly counterproductive at worst. *snip't* It also sets a Dangerous precendent for other, long-running massively efficient XP/Inf farm TF's & trials like ITF. Especially since as far as i can find, this was a full-on stealth nerf to the Trial SPECIFICALLY to stop the "DFB to 20, -REDACTED- to 35. ITF 35-50" Loop a lot of us have been doing to power up alts. of note, is that instead of changing merit drop rates, they tripled the amount needed for a conversion, this sets up the potential to stealth-nerf the droprates over time. And now this with DFB. DFB was great because you could get to 22 (Low-level TF's SUCK and are absolutely horrible slogfests, and random radios are equally slow if you're just trying to level up) and it kept people from begging for PL's and crap from level 1. P. soon you're gonna see all the good 25-45 content get nerfed to crap too, it's got nothing to do with "Player choice" or "time/effort to reward ratio" either, that whole line is BS. 1-20 List it with me: DFB, Posi 1&2(Long as fel, useless) Synapse, DIB, Yin....Or random radio/paper/whatever missions AND OH YEAH, lets NOT FORGET VILLAINSIDE. which has EVEN WORSE OPTIONS IN THE 1-22 RANGE Make the drop-off point for DFB 20 instead of 10 (Because skipping the 10-20 content as well is less BS, especially redside) and just stop trying to nerf speedlevelling. This is City of heroes, you'll break the freaking game completely long before you beat powerlevelling. Also: It never was. AE PL's are still faster, PIPL's are still faster, but it was the combination of XP and TF Mechanics that made it great for leveling toons AND catching up friends or bringing friends into the game who've seen your upper-level gameplay and want to join in without being useless Having them stand at the door in AE/PI Farms doesn't teach them anything, rolling a new toon and doing DFB with them a few times on even footing not only gave them the same super fast levels, but also taught them significantly more about actually PLAYING THE FREAKING GAME. Lessening the rewards also hurts a solo player, i have a very specific loop i do on my alts, because i can literally hit 50 in a day without being farmed by anyone, all the DFB Nerf does is slow me down a bit. I'm trying to get numerous alts to 50 so i can help my friends that i keep running into by filling any role they need at the time With the old merit rate, the comical influence and XP that some TF's give, and my loop, it took no time to get a decent L50 build going. Still doesn't, it's just 66% more obnoxious and slow.
  18. The people raging over DFB make me LOL. Running it 15 times doesn't teach you anything more than running it 2-3 times. People will not "learn their powers" because they can only use so many of those powers LOL. The "reasons" behind not nerfing it are just silly and remind me of a kid throwing a temper tantrum. The amount of xp and rewards on Homecoming are FAR above what Live ever was - especially with the FREE boosts available. I also get a kick out of the people threatening to leave and/or run their own servers hahahaha.
  19. So you're mad they took the "I win" aspect out of the game. You're upset because they made it still WAY more rewarding than Live ever was. You don't like playing with people who have strategies for playing together and want to do what you want to do when you want to do it regardless of how it affects others... got it. Well have fun on your private server. I have no desire to play in your sandbox seems like it's just an "I win" server which would get old real fast.
  20. A workaround is not a solution but - your problem isn't a problem to everyone either. I have no issue whatsoever with the total enhancements in posi's. Identifying "weakness" in one set does not take into account the bonuses from other powers/sets. Your view is myopic in its' focus of the bonuses/enhancement values of just one set and doesn't take into account the bonuses etc from other sets. Place a decimation set in a single target attack - now you have more recharge and +end..in another single target place a Thunderstrike set and increase your accuracy. Sets are like powers - you have to make choices - whether that choice be the enhancement values or the bonuses - not every set should be optimal or give optimal bonuses. A: There are no End/Rech IOs in the Targeted AoE sets B: That still would still be rather weak Recharge C: A workaround is not a solution
  21. The hyperbole is strong with you. The rewards do not match the time/effort - they will be taken to a normalized level.
  22. If you hover over the area with the level up button in the top right of the screen (where it says your level) ...give it a few seconds and it will show your true level.
  23. I prefer Ninjitsu for a few reasons - easy to softcap positional defense instead of trying to soft cap type, the built in stealth power, the heal, and the end recovery power. My Water/Nin is 50 and rarely has any issues even fighting +4 on teams. My toon only has about half of their sets and plays with ease.
  24. May want to ask in the Defender section of the forums.
  25. "Very likely" and "may" are completely different. I may win the lottery one day, but that doesn't mean it is very likely.. it just means I have a .00001% chance. The devs are not going to say "This is the policy and it will always be this way..." because then one day when something new arises and they need to make a change - everyone will dig up their quote and say "You said it would always be this way...." I'm not saying it's a definite possibility. I am just reminding the community that it could change. I'm sorry you might have thought my points weren't needed. I know it's a very sensitive subject but I wouldn't dare belittle someone's opinion even if it's different. Not that you are doing that. I just wanted to make sure the topic discussed was relevant to the points I made. I could see why someone might've considered my post a little snarky. I'll do better in the future. So, thanks for your response!
