  1. "Release candidate" is just a phrase for a beta version of software that's almost ready to be considered a stable release (hence the 'candidate' part). Here's a link explaining the term.
  2. The Pizza is essentially Pineapple without any of the cheat slash commands enabled; basically exactly what the release will look like when on the live shards.
  3. As follows: The '2' just denotes that it's the next version of it, due to the changes in this patch from the previous Release Candidate.
  4. Virtueverse is one that I'm aware of.
  5. Yes - the latest patch in beta includes a new version of the safe mode client. You can read more about it in the above link.
  6. Does the beta version of either the 32 or 64-bit client work for you? There's a few bug fixes on them that should help the game to run.
  7. Please don't multi-post like that, @castlebuilde. However, the only shard that gets occasionally wiped is the beta shard - that is to say, Pineapple at the moment. All the other, non-beta ones (Excelsior, Everlasting, Indomitable, Reunion, Torchbearer) are not wiped. The legacy client (safe mode) is a completely different thing from that; all that dictates is how you access each of those shards - we're trying to move everybody onto the new 32/64-bit clients, so that game development can continue at a faster pace. However, it doesn't matter which client you use; your data will not be wiped: there is no "safe mode shard", only legacy and non-legacy clients.
  8. That's strange - the non-legacy clients don't use DirectInput, to my knowledge. But I'll defer to one of the devs on this. In the meantime, detailing out the problem you're facing would be a great help!
  9. Hello there! You can find the steps to access the Beta shard here:
  10. Not a problem. We're doing our best to iron out these issues - if you've the time, we recommend detailing the problems you're facing, so we can help you get the game running on the new client.
  11. Just a heads up, you can still use Safe Mode, but you'll need a different manifest to use it, and it will be discontinued soon: We'll be busy trying to get everybody onto the new clients before they're discontinued however, so please, report any problems that you encounter. Thank you!
  12. I'm able to run the game on Linux just fine with the new client myself (the third party launchers are still out there - here are two of them). I've also written up a Lutris script, though it's still yet to be published (Lutris link is here), which you could give a whirl of. I'd recommend submitting a bug report on the forums about your issue - we want everybody to be able to play the game.
