  1. It isn't an issue of being defined as a fix. Its a matter of simply inputting different numbers to award more(or less). I think perhaps you are voicing frustration on AE having been turned down in its rewards/incentivization to use the AE system. That was done to address the map server/server stability issues that were occurring with over use. My impression is that the server team has inherently no issue with allowing people to use AE, even if it is just for incessant and constant leveling/power leveling. After all, they've been implementing all manner of things to let people level and play as they wish and with much more freedom and choice. The current restriction is simply to mitigate the issues of stability for the servers. So in the future if there happens to become a better option for them to improve/increase the stability to handle the demand(perhaps the move to the different host, though Im skeptical) then it is possible that they will revert that. They've left the door open to the possibility of it changing back in the future.
  2. THIS, a million times. There are comparatively few outdoor missions in the game, and they made it so that those there are most of them have really good spawn rates AND you get credit no matter how much damage you dealt. If someone swooping in and helping you deal with a hoard of baddies bothers you that much, stay inside where they can't do it. So what you and the other person(s) are advocating then is for people to do this and attempting to invalidate the OP's concerns? I think with the return of the game perhaps there is a compelling argument to be had to perhaps find a better perspective that doesn't promote people being unkind to others and then masking it with excuses/reasons of "Im helping" or "go play indoors". I do agree that with the higher exp rate we all are enjoying via these server iterations and that other changes before and now make such extreme kill stealing for the most part a smaller/non issue in terms of mechanics/leveling but in terms of how it presents itself to various players as someone else stated in a rude or similar (line cutting, perhaps) manner isn't necessarily being necessarily condemned/address except to say "deal with it if you want to be outside" which really sends a rather equally poor message. Another possibility is that the player was trying to test something/do something specific that your help interfered with? It probably wasn't necessarily the case in your example situation, but I have seen folks doing that(as an example seeing how many of a certain level/mob type can be handled by a certain power/combination of powers. Doing such on the streets is typically much easier than in a door mission since its more quickly/readily available. We never know but we invariably make assumptions and a judgement call(at least when intentionally being helpful).
  3. I too will have to protest this change, but I will at least explain my reasoning. There needs to be a 20 hour lockout after doing 5 Tip Missions because that encourages "farmers" to play multiple alts to generate hoards of resources. By throttling the "flow rate" of rewards from Morality Missions in the manner you achieve a greater circulation of characters (alts) through the game than if you throttle the "magnitude" of the rewards from Morality Missions via this reduction. This has long term game health implications insofar as establishing a broader base of characters to play than just having a SINGLE character for grinding out Tips mindlessly (endlessly?) for Merits without stopping. With the game being free and the philosophy thus far seemingly to allow players to freely make choices concerning how they involve themselves in game play, can you better explain why you feel the model you propose(which fits more how it would be per a game charging a subscription model and desiring people to be involved in as much of a time sink as possible) than allowing things as they are now?
  4. I only hope as well, being outside of North America, that the move to Canada doesn't cause any gating/throttling issues. Current server location was relatively smooth, outside of concurrency issues that everyone experienced of course.
  5. But that sounds less like being helpful and more about being passive aggressive when someone disagrees with the way you want to do something, whether you're potentially right or not. I think the evidence is compelling that if one wants to be a good leader, that they work with the group to best determine what works best for them. Sure if all give it a go and it flounders, then a good team adjusts from there and moves on. Will there be negative neds n nelly's sure but its better to mitigate their cynicism than to passive aggressively feed into it. That's when you really start to be more of a "hero" because you're not only helping to contribute to making the team better but the game experience for everyone in involved too. Never try to impose "help" on others. Its not help then. Its a hindrance.
  6. It is better to look at it like this: 1. How do the mobs of the mission challenge your power sets(or not)? 2. How does the mission type challenge your power sets? 3. How does your level in the game progression challenge? 4. How does your choice of powers within the 1st 2nd and other power sets change your mission? 5. How does your game play style(aggressive, conservative, middle of the road, etc) change things? 6. How does your slot and enhancement choices factor? 7. How then does 1-6 affect it in different combinations there of? In other words no one can accurately give you a definitive answer because it depends on a recipe of 1-7. What you can do at level 10 with your set on hellions can vastly be different from what you are doing at level 47, with a larger swath of choices of powers(and which choices made there in) against say crey or carnies or something else. Most of the time, the way you learn your answer is through experiential learning via trial and error because (especially as new to this return to the game as most are) the chance statistically that someone will take the same power sets and power pool etc choices, slot them same and make choices to fight the same missions and same mobs?
  7. Are you familiar with the term Monty Haul? http://arcana.wikidot.com/monty-haul Essentially you create an expectation creep and it erodes the game. We already have login rewards to a lesser degree with daily jobs and as the game currently stands, it has so much more given freely and with more bonus than it ever had when it was under different management and for their purposes of monetization. There is no need to further incentivize or make others feel obligated to disingenuously log in to play.
  8. Gonna play devil's advocate to a certain extent in this response. Perhaps Im not reading what you wrote clearly but why some one suggesting to increase the difficulty level is such a negative thing? Is it because they suggest it and it isn't what you, as the seeming team leader, wanted to do per your beliefs on the matter? If making it higher would be of benefice to everyone, do you think that still would be unreasonable? Are you ensuring that your help is being subordinate to the needs of the members of the team?
  9. "Everlasting shot up to 2nd place fairly quickly after being designated as the RP server" While that correlation could be causation, I'm not wholly sure that there is enough data to clearly declare that to be the case. 1. It had 100% exp bonus. 2. It was not designated as the "unofficial pvp server"(which technically when the authority of an announcement declares designations of x and y servers as rp and pvp that tends to blur the lines of making "unofficial" seem less so). So while Im not of course denying it having statistically increased in the number of players, Im simply treating with skepticism that the cause was due to being designated "the RP server" since Points 1 and 2 when taken in conjunction with each other alone could be the cause as well. I appreciate the work and efforts being done for these servers and the restoration of the game so publicly as it is now but it would perhaps be of merit to try to consider how such statistical information is presented in the future. There just isn't any clear way to make a determination and any hindsight polls or anecdotally presented information by others wouldn't reflect that either.
  10. No no, Perez Park street sweeping teams with storm controllers herding the masses to one spot for everyone to let loose on. Those were the days.
