Focused Feedback: Reward Merits
ivanhedgehog replied to Booper's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
My question would be why are the devs trying to force coh to a hardcore game mindset. Pretty soon after this change, you couldnt get on an ITF with a level 35. Why try to be another wow? Is that the game we all wished would come back? before you can solve a problem you must define it. I see a change, what is the purpose for the change. does the change solve the stated purpose? -
Focused Feedback: Reward Merits

tfs are end game content. as are hami and ms raids. as are a lot of things. so much for that concept -
someone has something you want. you get building maintenance to let you in so you can get it. you then can say "I didnt break in so its not theft". if its someone that moved out in the night 2 years ago, fine. If its someone that is at work and not home, not so fine. That being said, the year that the devs set for most 6-49 toons is fine. I dont care about lvl 1-5. Its not borrowing if you never intend to return it. I have just watched people go on for years that because they used a name in ultima online that it is universally theirs and they should be able to evict anyone that uses it.
-
the first time this runs will free up the names of the current old inactive accounts. after that it will basically be just an annoyance for people with a bunch of alts. Do we have to have a permanent great name theft system or could we run it once a year? is this system adding overhead on the game servers? if not, no big deal.
-
It is still about taking something that belongs to someone else. people keep using name squatting. Name squatting is taking that which someone else owns and using it against their will. On live, I had someone that wanted a name I had. I had to eventually get the gms involved because after I ignored them they would use other people to contact me. The changes the devs made to the time frame of this have helped ease my mind about this change. While I am against the concept, this change will be fine.
-
I have always been an advocate of the first person that gets the name keeps it. This insistence on stealing other people's names bad. The common idea that these are just "name campers" and not someone that doesnt happen to play exactly when you do is wrong. People will be back in the forums whining that they cant get the name they think they deserve soon after this goes into effect.
-
If we buy him beer and BBQ he will almost certainly revert it. If not, it cant hurt to have good will in the future!
-
use the giant mutant teenaged ninja pirate fire ant. that will get him.
-
I was under the impression that there were people involved in a private beta before they announced this, but I dont know if that is true. A lot of games do that. some do it ok, some really mess it up like swtor. in a big development studio they would have a bunch of people to do it, so I see the need.

What do you guys think is the best mission in the game? My favorite is Frostfire in the hollows.
-
thats the mission that I save my weekly auto complete for. I hate that one with a passion.
-
Science!!!!!!(says in booming voice)
-
they have less risk. that isnt fair!
-
tanks/scrappers/brutes all have defensive powers, making all content easier for them. should their rewards be nerfed?
-
that is pretty lame. it wouldnt break the bank to buff that a bit.
-
Honestly? It doesnt really even register. I am more interested in the "universal base". If I have a friend and they need 1/2 a level for us to start a manticore TF, I can easily get them that anywhere. That is most of the pl'ing I do. I find TF's the best content in the game. Moonfire was what hooked me and frostfire is a mini tf before the TF.
-
you fail to complete the statement. now katie hannon is rarely completed. This proves that butchering rewards has bad consequences. The live devs had a bad habit. if there were 3 ways to solve a problem they chose all 3 ways and never looked back at the wreckage. the only tool they used was a sledgehammer. lets not follow in their footsteps.
-
should someone that uses stealth to ghost radio missions to kill the 3 minions at the end and click a glowie get the same rewards as the player that kills 300 minion/lts/bosses/ebs? there needs to be parity between kills/objectives. you cant just have parity between the rewards.

I dont know about other servers, but on mine those farmers are the people organizing things. funding costume contests, hami raids,MS raids and Itrials. losing them would hurt the server severely.
-
fixed that for you
-
so you are just upset that farmers put in more effort and are rewarded for it. I would love to see the afk timer be put into AE.
-
you are starting with opinions you treat as facts. that is a dishonest approach to any discussion. every kill should reward the same amount in relation to level/tier equally. they should not be lower just because they are in any particular place in the game. AE is as much part of the game as the hollows is.
-
what other source for xp is there in an AE mission? please let us know. if you are talking about inf, AE has the same drop rate as any other content. If you know otherwise, please show us proof.
