as GP pointed out, it goes against the rules. that is why they normally make them inaceessible for players. but i have found about 40 names that should be blocked out and since i was poking around, i just took them out myself and am publically posting that i did it. so one day they'll probably go through and permanently block them. no skin off my nose, i made the alts with possible combo sets that i may want to revisit in the future, with a different name of course. π besides there seems to be some leeway, with the "creating copies of existing characters", some names could be possibly be used, but they would need to show that they are not a copy/knockoff. but it is all up to GM discretion. if i ran around with "Echo of Statesman" i would get genericked pretty fast i am sure, regardless of what he looked like or his backstory. π

towel cape/shoulders option

i would like to add to this a towel around the waist shorts option for that just out of the shower look... for female models, the large towel around the torso/upper body costume would be pleasing to me too. π -
i made alts 616 and 617, on excelsior, Ouroboros Pool Boy and Ouroboros Lifeguard, respectively, because who know the last time that pool was cleaned or properly supervised??? but what these pool oriented characters really need to make them perfect is an over the shoulders towel. you can do a towel cape look with just a standard cape, but that is not what i am looking for here. i want a towel draped over the shoulders, hanging off of their neck. maybe a shoulders option? should be easy to do! someone please make it happen! we, i, need this especially with the marine affinity out now, we need towels! π

not exactly a typo, but imagine my surprise when i read that i now had access to military epaulets from the tailor, from the task force commander accolade, after visiting null the gull for a quick switch... (i switched from rogue to vigilante, btw, so viewed from vigilante) i am sure it has been reported before, since it has been 5 years... but a cursory search for epaulets did not yield much. π

yeah, i know, but i did not know where to put it or report it. almost all important NPCs are already blocked, these are not, so it is more of an oversight. but for lack of a better place, i put it here, until it is adressed by a GM. i'm just reporting it, while looking for a bug, and basically seeing what happens when i am trying things out. at least i am trying to be transparent about it. π

i am still working on this... actually i have been doing a deep dive into in-game names, (NPCs, objects, powers, etc.) looking for something, and i have been continually finding surprising things, fun things. though no bugs yet. π but i do keep finding AV/hero/GM names that are available that probably should be blocked off. so i made random alts on excelsior, name blocking them, and just putting it out there that they are there in my character list. most commonly encountered NPCs/GMs/AVs are typically, already blocked, these bafflingly are not. π (is bafflingly even a word??? π€ͺ) there are a number, read 20-30, that i have also made, but mostly named after NPCs, etc., that i may actually use. i might also use one or two of the more obscure GM/AV names, though not to impersonate or decieve, but just because they would be fun. π at least until someone stops me...π PS. don't take away Malfunctioning Unit from me please, he's just a Praetorian NPC, but the name is glorious! π

since i am on the subject of making perfectly reasonable suggestions, like i have made in the past for pistol fingers and mullets (weapons and hairdos), i have a new, very very good one. yesterday i was running around in praetoria for the first time in ages, there was a robot called "malfunctioning unit" and it was doing an emote routine that made me salivate. it was acting all kinds of crazy. i want that! i do not care if i do not have robot hands that rotate like that, i dearly want that whole routine! please! i am certain that this would be very easy to implement! just some sort of copy and paste, and voila! a new emote! i promise to abuse this emote non-stop for some extended period of time, i swear! π

i need a swimming fly pose! i need it now! one of my alts is a necro/marine undead scuba diver MM type, named Scuba Dave naturally, and he currently has super jump for reasons that i fail to remember exactly why... but i want to switch in some fly powers. now while i like that fly with toroidal bubble makes lots of bubbles, the normal fly pose just won't do. he needs to swim! like the in water swim, but in the air swim! as well as a not moving hover pose with the floating in water pose, but in the air. can this happen? please? pretty please with powdered sugar and bacon bits on top please! π

as noted in my other thread for barrier reef with toxic defense, barrier reef was showing extra defense in toxic than there should have been. when i was looking at the statistics for toxic defense in the manage enhancement screen it was giving a different percentage from what combat attributes was displaying. as @Luminara astutely deduced from my bug report, was that for toxic defense ED (enhancement diversification) was being ignored in combat attributes, while correctly displaying on enhancement manage screen. case in point, the difference with no SOs slotted in Barrier Reef, and 3 def SOs slotted so, i decided to look at another power that was +def (all) and see if i was getting the same thing. i went back and check the same alt on the test server with maneuvers. with exactly the same results; ie. combat attributes for toxic defense was ignoring ED, while enhancement management was displaying corectly. maneuvers with 2 +def SOs and with 3 +def SOs. so, it looks like combat attributes is not accounting for ED in calculating toxic defense percentages for at least two different +def(all) powers. i am assuming that this is just a display error and not an actual combat statistic error. i have not tested any other +def (all) or +def (toxic) powers to see if they have the same display error, but there is no reason not to believe that this is replicable with all +def (toxic) powers. π

there is something going on in the combat attributes, because i decided to look at the same alt and add in the maneuvers power with 3 +def SOs, since that gives +def (all), and i got the same result for +def (toxic). it does not show in the manage screen, but does in the combat attributes screen. maneuvers with two SOs... and maneuvers with 3 SOs so, combat attributes is simply not factoring in ED for def (toxic)... π- 9 replies

so, i went ahead and recreated Buttery Justice on the test server. i gave him the auto-level to 50 and vaguely recreated the process of leveling up, approximating what i would do in normal leveling. with exception that at levels 23, 25, and 27, i six slotted barrier reef and filled it in at those levels with def SOs, to see what effects they had. I also added the alpha, agilty core paragon for the +def. at level 22, with no SO slotted in there is no difference. nor is there a difference with 1 SO slotted in. at level 23, with three slots, but only 2 SOs added, no difference either. it was only when i added a 3rd SO, that there was a difference. Same with levels 25 and 27, with 5 slots and six slots with SOs. and the same finally with level 50 and an Agility Core incarnate added i did not try maxxing out the most possible defense for barrier reef, with like say 6 slotted with boosted generic IOs, just to see how much i could squeeze out. nor did i test to see if it was a def % threshold that was surpassed that started adding in extra +def for toxic. that would be easy to test i think... just so, something is screwy here and i have not quite figured out what it is. π- 9 replies

ok, since i last posted, i leveled up two my other marine affinity alts... now i swear that my necro/MA MM did not have the different toxic defense when he was lvl 28, but now that he is level 30 and i added two slots to barrier reef and two extra +def SOs, it is now giving me the same thing. this is despite while looking in the enhancement manage page giving the correct stats. My level 28 arsenal/MA controller shows no difference in toxic defence. so far... here she has no SOs slotted yet, but when i put in a lvl 30 there was no change between +def stats.- 9 replies

the brickstown prison break timer reset to 99:59:59 and did not begin its countdown. i know it is a buggy event, but i had not seen this before. π

i was on my marine affinity/water defender, Buttery Justice, and while looking through my combat attributes i noticed a slight difference with the toxic defense, a +0.46% difference. barrier reef is supposed to give a fixed +def to all defences and i, for the life of me, cannot figure out whether this is a display bug or some hidden +def toxic that i am getting from another source. i checked another alt, a necro/MA MM and they did not have this slight difference in combat attributes. i included my powers list just to show that i have no other sources for this +def toxic. i figured i would drop this here, and maybe someone can tell me what it is. π

it's fine, i like it, quite a bit truthfully. i run in a league frequently because they are fun and chaotic. it's choatic, but often that is because there are always new people coming in and it is not like any other event in-game. the seed of hamidon is another zone event with a GM that requires a league and some coordination, and it awards 5 merits, 3 monstrous aethers, a badge, and a temp power. what are the rewards for this? they're not bad in comparison... plus there is +25% exp earned. it makes sense that it resets to zero once the minotaur revives, that prevents people from prepping the zone in relative safety and then jumping him with a small crew and +10 level shift. i am back and forth having a dedicated fog team since they earn less exp from kills. but i cannot think of any time that i have had someone TP to my own my stealth seeker, unles i have called out for fog help. the labyrinth is a dangerous place anyway, i expect to die either by my mistake or someone else's, often. league organization has always been like herding cats. this is has how it has always been in COH, it's a mess, but i do not think that labyrinth of fog makes it any worse. it's the same as always, difficult and messy, it's part of the game. people running motes during a mino league rather than after is bad form, but that is something that a league leader can manage though. either by telling the league or warning the player directly and booting them if necessary. that is event etiquette that needs to be learned though, players just need to be educated, either the easy way or the hard way. if you do not want to run a league, don't. i hate doing it, running leagues is not my cup of tea. unless there is absolutely no one else willing. but if in someone else's league you have to run by their rules or lack there of. maybe that is part of the problem? for what it's worth, it is a good event. i think it is definitely setting up for further, similar, future events, and i look forward to those too. π

same geometry bug, but in the midnighters mansion, in Darrin Wade's villain arc, infiltrate midnight squad mission... i noticed that it was basically the same room as the meeting room in manticore's mansion, so i tried it and found i could escape the room by the hole in the center of the dome into the outer geometry. in fact, it is exactly the same map, since it is completely isolated from the rest of the mansion, in the same way.
