  1. With the NPC attack type changes, does this mean that s/l defense softcap is no longer an effective strategy for soloing all missions at +4x8? I should instead do melee+range?
  2. Ok, I think this is much better! We get sleet and icestorm now! With the changes to arctic air I don't think we need world of confusion unless we are trying to stack confuse with another dominator/controller in higher star games. This has the abiilty to kind of deal with the extreme end drain of arctic air at lower levels as well. Our s/l resistance is severely diminished though, we essentially traded that for sleet and icestorm (worth it in my opinion). We also went damage for our alpha and confuse for interface (just for elite bosses really or the aforementioned 2-4 star TFs). @Frosticusis this how you like Call Hawk?     How early?

    Without hasten or incarnates? I am pretty confident in saying that this cannot be done without heavy and informed usage of FF procs. I can get you recharging PA in 65 seconds without an FF proc. With FF procs? I'll try....but it isn't necessarily going to be reliable, nor will the build make sense. I don't play illusion or energy assault or even dominators in the 'normal' way. You are also probably going to be knocking enemies everywhere so I assume you want this to be for solo use. (OK, no, nevermind I tried for 30 minutes. Even with an attack chain of sniper blast->power burst->power blast->power push its not going to work out, if sniper blast FF doesnt proc everything falls apart and it has about a 30% chance of failing. Just take hasten and add FF procs and call it a win.)
  4. It gets better if you take oppressive gloom and then stack with a stun proc. Oh, you already mentioned this. I should have read further. You can add a stun proc in dark consumption too. Things get better with electrical blast for the stun procs, but it's not worth it.

  8. I should also note that this would also be for when we are alone. I am not sure if the added recharge of sleet and heat loss from agility would be worth it in an 8 man group.
  9. Oh, sorry. To kill an AV quickest use: a proc'd out infrigidate AND benumb (AND we would want to switch out our alpha for musculature, especially with how Agility fucks procs) I'm messing with things now in mids trying to get more recharge while not sacrificing anything else. Water/Cold gives a lot of build permutations due to all the slotting choices and the flexibility that arctic fog gives you for getting to the softcap.

  15. I have no idea. Reading patch notes and catching up. This is the first of my builds I will look at with the changes, mainly because I read there is a new difficulty level and I want to try that on max safely. I think with tweeking this is the best contender for that. After I mess around with this one I will look at my fire/kin....might continue my idea of making it an elec/kin.

  19. I mean if we are considering the destiny slot the melee ATs will still be more survivable because they can choose barrier or rebirth instead of clarion. Fair point about the damage scale though.
  20. Not true at all. The survivability difference between the melee ATs and the ranged ATs is stark. You get mezzed all the time on the ranged ATs and almost never on the melee ones. A single mez causes your toggles to drop on the ranged AT and you take a faceplant. This is one of my biiggest complaints about the RoP nerf. Melee ATs still get run around with mez protection and ultra survivability and the one power that helped squishies deal with it cost a 3 power investment and could only be up 50% of the time with very good recharge. Now its not even worth mentioning. Melee ATs are absolutely more survivable than the ranged ATs. Then on top of all that you get higher damage scale for all the melee ATs except brutes who have inherent +%dmg and a super high %dmg cap. So, most of the time (outside of something like kinetics on corruptors) melee ATs end up doing more dmg and are more survivable. (edit: higher dmg scale except for doms and blasters) /endrant
  21. hmmmmmmm an interesting question: on the one hand shield's biggest weakness is not having any kind of healing and so getting to the defense softcap and as much resist as you can is of supreme importance to the set (or pairing it with a heal primary like dark, but we aren't doing that here) and so I would think this would favor a tanker. However, things stop hitting you when they're dead and savage melee really shines when you give it +damage and proc out savage leap. The tanker would get a much improved shred and I would absolutely take it on a tanker (but no other AT). Hmmmmm...the biggest problem I see for SD is how to live through the hits that will inevitably get through, you can put power transfer procs in physical perfection and health to get some passive regen....but it wont be anywhere close to enough for hard content on a tank or a brute. For casual play I would 100% go with the brute. On a team with a single corr/def/troller? Brute. I'd only consider the tank for casual solo play. Damage is just too important to the overall game and savage melee in particular to warrant picking a tanker for general use. Maybe I'm wrong though, with the higher tanker def/resist numbers and the ATOs, maybe you could take some other powers or proc something else out in a creative way to increase your survivability greatly. You'd certainly have a lot more slots to play with on an SD tanker. In summary, I'd probably go brute, but I'm not 100% sure, its very possible that I'm missing some huge thing on a tanker that could fix SD's heal/regen hole. Shield charge>proc'd out savage leap is still gonna be super fun on anybody though.
  22. I think its five levels, honestly not sure, I used to know when I played more. yeah, I was wrong here, I just tested it out and made sure. I edited that part. No, you only get it when you cast it, but with the +end corruptor ATO and the +end performance shifter IO you get back 20% of your max endurance or 23.44 endurance when you cast it (you have a max endurance of 117.2 endurance as long as you get the accolades). Yeah, that's not your mistake. Thats on me 100%.
  23. I'd go savage/shield for what you are looking for. You get easy softcapped def, ok resistance, and another leap ability in shield charge that you can put a FF proc in it.
  24. ummmm soul drain is integral to this build as its very important to double dip doing more damage with additive +damage% and multiplicative -res%. If you were to make a water/storm hover build it would be best to start with that idea from the start and go from there. I personally don't like hover builds as they take too long to move from mob to mob in my opinion and pbaoes become useless.
  25. 1. Because Lightning storm is crazy expensive endurance wise and with those two end procs it makes it not just free but net positive, which isn't all that important for farming, but its good whenever you do other things. 2. On corruptors you only get freezing rain at 16, which is when I took it. You may switch out when I took hasten for assault if you wish, I think on a team assault is better because you will run out of endurance quicker, better to have your whole team hit harder. Tactics on a lvl 14 team will on average add much more dmg than just about anything else because at lvl 14 people generally dont have the acc necessary for higher lvl mobs. You may switch out tactics for tidal forces if you wish and that would honestly be better for farming. 3. That travel power is providing knockback protection and 1.25 ranged defense, which is necessary to get close to the softcap. 4. The defense IOs apply at all levels as long as they are slotted, they are not like +accuracy IO or +res IO that needs to be toggled on to take effect. The OP specifically asked "I love this toon so much. I'm terrible at builds, wondering if anyone has any Mids builds? I'd like to use her for farming but not exclusively. Thanks!!" so we can assume that this toon will be 50 when built. 5. Yes, but more end drain and I'd rather have a bit less end drain than .5-.7 s/l resistance. 6. Yeah, you will lose some recharge when you exemplar down, but the OP asked for a farming build. My mistake was quoting you and not them (I thought you were the OP at first, sorry) @tjlauri29 7. uhhhh yeah, thats a hold over for the old version of mids when this was made, there used to be a bug in mids with +5s and it looks like I just didnt correct it, which reminds me...they didn't have artillery then. Soooooooooooooo: 8. huh? My melee defense is 45.92% and my ranged defense is 44.67% for the old build, but 44.99% with the above build. Are you not turning on the agility alpha? Even without the agility alpha, the build has enough defense that if a single person on your team has maneuvers you'll be softcapped. With the Alpha its very very worth it. 9. Oh....so you did see the alpha....ok then, the proc chances for lightning storm are still capped, water burst and tornado proc chances were never that high in the first place, but they'll proc with lots of targets which this is designed to be surrounded and thrive in the middle of mobs (you know, for farming). Agility is necessary for getting to the def softcap and gets you more recharge to hasten so you only need 1-2 ff prcos (which is just two lightning storm casts) and then it also gets soul drain very close to perma, but it will be perma with a single FF proc which lightning storm will provide. M/R defense is better for farming than hover builds.
