  1. OMG, I am ready for this!!! The time has come for the Ice/Time Controller, Ice Gold, to make his debut!
  2. I want to be there and should be. I have been working on a Ice/Time anyways and want to give it a go. @Dahle is me.
  3. I am also on Everlasting, and I am all for making another alt. 🙂
  4. I might give Ice another run just because this sounds fun. So much confusion.
  5. Friend and I just made a duo Plant/Time Troller and Plant/Thorns Dom to run Praetorian content. We are having a blast and I can completely understand the interest in grouping Plant sets together.
  6. I just want to put out there that I have also noticed this when grouping with other controllers. I play Fire/Dark, Elec/Storm and Elec/Poison. On my Fire troller I open with Bonfire now because of how absolutely broken it can be, the mobs are still able to migrate to the tank if the tank stays in the Bonfire the mitigation from the Knockup is great and I only cast my Immob when they have grouped more, preferring to target with other things first. On my Elec/Storm I actually open most pulls with Static Aura and then bunch the mob for the group with Hurricane, thus not needing the tank to group the mobs, I drop Fences early on this scenario. My Elec/Poison is the more interesting one, I open with Weaken and Envenom after the tank initially pulls and then drop a Static Aura, if the tank hasn't sufficiently group the mob at that point they will usually wake from the sleep and move over to them before I get to cages again because I'll drop another Weaken and Envenom because of the CD being low on them. But really it doesn't match to much if I do any of this, the other controllers are trying to set up containment as early as possible so that they can get their damage in. We, as controllers, are not a DPS AT, we are there to control, mitigate and buff/debuff. And Dominators, who don't even need containment are even worse, they don't need to open with an immob at all, just choose the taregt the tank is already on and open with Single-Target. It is why I prefer being the only Controller on a team, I few sad that I don't have someone to stack mag with, but at least we play more along my style, because the old way is faster then the new way, even if the new way lets us all be blasters.
  7. Yes, this is the one i posted above. I don't have access to my computer atm cause I'm on vacation though. So any changes I've made since that post aren't applied, like I changed the slotted enhancements in Soul Absorb.
  8. I find that my Fire troller doesn't even need to Flashfire to create any lockdown. I open with Bonfire and the mobs that don't immediately bounce instead try moving out of the area of effect instead of attacking. One fire cages for containment and everything is a bag of popcorn, the attack are coming scattered enough that i can soak it myself and stand in the middle of the enemies with hot feet. Things literally melt on my Fire/Dark and the enemies do little to nothing. It may not be able to lockdown AVs and may have trouble with some things that resist KB, but everyone has an enemy type that is an annoyance.
  9. I have Suddne Acceleration KB to KD in almost every KB power on my Dark/Storm, paired with a Force Feedback. But this build is just for the giggles, so it has lots of odd combos like that and Chance for Res Debuffs all over the place. Energy Font in Living Shadows... Haunt with Overwhelming Force KD Proc... You know, stupid choices, that are not at all optimal.
  10. I am soft capped on all Def at 50, so hitting their Acc doesn't help me defensively at that level. It was a sacrifice I was more then happy to make. I only ever use it to pull mobs in situations that I don't just want to Bonfire them. When I exemplar down I have end problems, so I was avoiding using it, so it ended up at the end of the build, it needs no extra slots and it is there only for lvl 50 solo pulls.
  11. I absolutely love my Fire/Dark. It is a monster of a Solo-er and I usually feel like I am contributing the most on it. With Fade and the soft-cap on def for it I am ablt to initiate with Fire Cages + Bonfire and then throw out Flashfire. The just stand in the middle as Hot Feet melts everything. And with it's Melee orientation i also get use out of the PBAoE Disorient from Dark. My Electric/Kin is also a lot of fun, I'm only in the 40s and the pairing just feels right, though I have so many buttons at this point that I am lost sometimes. I might be a bit slower these days. Plant/Rad has been fund, but I just cannot get into Plant's animations... It is a solid set though. Dark/Storm/Lev is my most recent Toller. And I made it as a trolly idea i had. I want to throw out a ton of pets, cast Gale a bunch (KB to KD IO FTW) and in general watch the chaos. I don't know how viable this is going to be though. (Just for a count, Haunt is 2, Umbra for 1, Tornado for 1, Lightning Storm for 1, Water Spout for 1 and Coralax for 1. So 7 "Pets", 1 is out all the time, most of the rest are Perma in my build, just have to be cast for either the encounter or to every 20sec to minute. And I haven't confirmed but I think I can have 2 Tornados out at once.) So CHAOS!
  12. Apparently the font is a mag 2 stun pbaoe that also does like, 10 damage to whatever mob its sitting on top of. in that case I'll move it to wormhole and give it one more shot. (yay enhancement unslotters!) I would not put the Energy Font proc in Wormhole as it will cause Wormhole to create aggro. If you avoid damage procs and Energy font Wormhole has the ability to reposition enemies without causing aggro on you.
  13. This makes more sense and makes me want to break out storm so I can just load Gale with procs and spam it for giggles. Except you can't put Energy Font in it.
  14. I am Ye Olde Skool when it comes to build planning. Attunement of enhancements didn't exist in Issues 1-23. This meant that the best compromise balance point for Set IOs was, in most cases, at either Level 27 (for Exemplar Level 24 content due to Flashback level brackets) or at Level 31 (for Exemplar Level 28 for the Moonfire Task Force). With attunement it's less of an imperative, but I still write up my builds "the old way" for people who aren't rich enough to be able to afford attunements for every Set IO they've got yet. Yeah, I am adapting now to the attuned enhancements and everything. I think I need will leave my current as is, all level 50+5s because I hate exemplaring him. But my Plant/Rad is super fun at all levels so i'll need to take the IO stuff into deeper consideration.
  15. Check out https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Exemplar_Effects_on_Enhancements#Set_bonuses and https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Enhancement_Set_Bonuses#Set_Bonuses_and_Exemplaring for behavior specific to the set bonuses. My highest is only level 30, so I'm not too familiar with how sets work yet, but I gather you're correct about the individual enhancement bonus scaling to any exemplar level. Apparently the set bonuses will not work 4 below the level of the IO, so if the set bonus is important you, you need to use low level set IOs. But then end up with lower individual enhancement bonuses. Interesting. Isn't that an argument for people who plan to exemplar a lot to utilize attuned enhancements on anything by PvP and Purples?
  16. I also don't understand the reasoning for using the lower level IOs, you lose effectiveness at higher levels that either Attuned of max leveled IOs offer. I was under the impression when the game was shutdown that no matter what level the enhancement, when you exemplar, the effectiveness was diminished on a smooth curve. I had to search for it but this explained it for me: https://cityofheroes.fandom.com/wiki/Exemplar_Effects_on_Enhancements. And level 32 was the real breakpoint when exemplaring because that is where, no matter what, your enhancements didn't change.
  17. Yeah, I dropped it completely and moved the slot elsewhere.
  18. I've been trying to figure out procs in general. So far I see the best proc rate in Pets. So the best place I am seeing for it for me is going to be Carrion Creepers for my Plant/Rad. Not sure at this moment, and not sure you'll have the slots for it but to me PA might be the best place.
  19. It is a Mag 1.4 Knockup. I did not even realize that. WOW! Mind blown. I'll need to test without the Sudden Acc IO to see if I can save a slot in my build.
  20. Annihilation, I put it in Bonfire... Bonfire is my Proc machine, Force Feedback Proc, Annihilation Proc, Sudden Acc KD to KB and 1 other Annihilation Damage Rech I think. It is AWESOME.
  21. No matter what, I am of the opinion that you must now slot a Sudden Acceleration Knockback to Knockdown IO in Bonfire.
  22. I'd call it personal preference. But I can see the bonus Regen being really nice, and it may even help Imp live a bit longer, but prior to getting incarnates I was looking for 2 things, endurance regen and +Recharge. 6 Slot Eff Adp got me more of both.
  23. Here is mine. Haste doesn't look Perma, but a few FF procs and it makes it there. Just know, this is my for fun build. And I LOVE IT. 24. Sure. You're certainly free to skip the pet and 6 slot tar pit ... well if you're playing a Dark/Dark defender or corrupter. Controllers get Heart of Darkness instead. That quibble aside I used to run a themed supergroup primarily composed of Dark/Dark defenders and you know it's quite something to see an army of 8 fluffies storming into battle with 8 defenders firing moonbeams off behind them. My experience is that the pet cycles through his powers. You're correct in saying this one or that one will only be used a % of the time but the power will be used. You've got a mini agent off to the side cycling through its abilities and if you just don't value that then that's fine. Someday you might get held and the thing that keeps you alive is the pet casting fear or its heal - or its -tohit powers. In my current build I'm looking at not really investing as many slots in Twilight Grasp as I'd like. It's a worthy power but I just expect to be doing other things. As a defender I might put that power on auto and if an autofire stops one of my blasts no big deal. As a controller I'm more busy locking down this and that mob or confusing a debuff casting lieutenant, I'm not as open to having a heal interrupt me even if things have gone dicey. Maybe I will jam some level 50 heal IOs into fluffy so when he uses Twilight Grasp it'll make up for me not being able to throw out as many as I'd like. Maybe I'll get a Lysosome for his accuracy and to buff his -tohit. I am really a lot less worried about spending slots for Fluffy. I'm very good at Frankenslotting and wringing out every last bit of enhancement in the minimum slots. With extra power choices freed up by inherent stamina and the changes to travel powers it's easy to buy more slot-hungry powers but it also means your build is generally less tight and you can also choose powers that don't need a lot of slots. It's just your personal preference. As long as you are having fun it's all good. This right here: As long as you are having fun it's all good. Take and give advise, don't drop one on someone who wants help or someone who is just making something fun to play around with (looking at the wormhole builds out there, and my own knockdown build).
  25. Oh hey man. Mostly because things don't move much in my build, or in general do much but dance. And because I capped Def and I put ToHit Debuff in Dark Servant (5% Rech from Cloud Senses (-: is nice), things are only hitting me 5% of the time, when they do things.
