I am on my Thanksgiving four day weekend. Where are my presents? Where? 😡😭🤬👿 -
It was a QoL upgrade. For me. I am on mostly Brutes and Blasters and always take fly. A one pick dip into Concealment gives me stealth and a LOTG or Kismet Mule There are other recent changes I am less happy with (shut up Snarky!). um…. I need to go argue with my inner voices. Be back later
-
Seriously though. I read a study (no way to cite, decades ago, and my memory is going to butcher the details) that the closer a construct (robot android) gets to human the more humans “like” it. Until a certain magic point where humans think it is creepy as hell. This Siege construct is still just a toy like creature suited for making a childs toy One of the reasons I avoid certain designs when constructing my robotic NPCs (one of my themes) is the lack of eyes. And no smooth way to cram them on. Bunker shield and Bot shield can solve a lot of that but do not look right with many helmets due to fit or obvious difference in texture and in effect look slapped on instead of integrated. Whoever designed Siege did a pretty good job but decided to go for a very basic noggin with some panels that may be radar arrays, access plates, or a spot to write random notes while working in the lab

I have tried this a few times but never for long. It is damned squishy for the amount if agro it draws. Great damage but not quite enough to kill everyone coming at it before each one gets a few shots in. It haz mez holes knockback holes armor holes and trying to heal out of every fight gets old.
-
I hate to break it to you but Siege doesn’t have a face. He is just a giant dick.
-
You can buy 3 different types at P2W. Fun during DFB!
-
I have such the issues with this endlessly. I am mostly on a Dark Dark Blaster and it is such a pain. I would say 1/3 of my damage is wasted every Task Force. There are some ways to get this to happen less often but each is so mob type room type specific to list them would be endless and pointless. You basically have to practice with cones like training for a sport. Just keep working like a dog until it “looks easy”
-
Well…. The pink skirt outfit makes her look punk 80s grrrl and the insect wings outfit makes her look like a office worker wearing a Halloween hoochie faerie costume. Both seem damn serious to me. Damn serious.
-
I have a Fire Temp that is insanely powerful. But I suppose all Fire Blasters are insanely powerful. I use Temporal because I like a bit more ranged. Some say a True death dealer is a Blapper. The more I play Blasters the more I see the point. I have heard good things about Fire / Anything Corruptor. The damage would be good and leveraged off a Corruptors debuffs and Scourge I see the point
-
I have rebuilt with the double disorient (2+2) but the powers come in real late. Intil then landing Soul Drain is seat of the pants. Still play testing but working harder to land it, taking more chances. At incarnate level I can report do not jump into the mobs at the start of Underground with mag 4 disorient and plan to land PB anything besides ground. You will definitely land Point Blank Ground though.
-
I play a lot of Dark. Both Melee and Squishies. I think Scrapper is probably the only one I have not done. Although I have never run Stalkers very high I have run (and maybe still have) one Dark Dark that I ran through stories until mid teens. Then realized a Dark Blaster was just 2x Faster. I have many complai….errr issues with the very real slights Dark has to endure. In many cases without I/Os some AT choices on Dark are nearly untenable. The problems Dark has involve everything from long animation times to hard to land narrow arcs to Endurance issues to funky mixed range sets to Soul Drain not working hardly at all for non Melee but thats what you get so suck it. But wait there is more (and less). It always felt like whoever had Dark Blast thrown on their desk just cloned the basic attack set for Blasters and changed one ranged AoE to a cone then went back to day drinking. Meanwhile the person working on the Darkness Manipulation went on a weeklong coke binge with grand ideas and crazy final choices (a PBAoE buildup power? A damage Aura with no thought to damage mitigation?) Having said all that many of the animations and power effects for Dark seem spot on for me. They just are hard to work with mechanically in game

I tend to only go deep once in a while on pools. If I have the power picks available. Rare Concealment: Stealth, and I love the phase shift power for racing through Rularuu or Rikti maps. The second pick to bet there is always garbage Flight, sometimes go deep. The precise maneuver on the last power is great Leadership, yawn, but when i go three it is +Def, +Dam, +Acc never veng Sorcery. Love the mez prot. So painful to get there. Give up hyper fly speed on Fly for a useless TP and a truly yawn attack Force of Will. Yawn opener, Like the cone, I like cones, and the End power can be useful rarely, nice option. Overall I have gone into it…..once
-
Yes, just like some powers were modified radically for Sentinels, some powers were “tweaked” as they were ported across ATs. Sometimes they changed the name a little. Other times not. It makes an apples to apples comparison nearly impossible
-
Thanks. I spent all morning rebuilding my Blaster with the ideas I been running on the Corruptor. Massive range increase, using the two disorient powers to get in to land soul drain, sacrificing 50% ranged def to about 25% to do it. I think this will be quite playable. I did one oddball thing and added the hard hitting Midnight Grasp with 5 Purples in it. More for the Rech and Acc but curious to see if it will be useful. I think even with the long animation I will see many instances while I finishing my PBAoE chain that someone might get a good smack

How do you turn off Scourge in MiDs. After the first half hour looking I gave up. i am a quitter.
-
Lets start with a Basic statement. Blasters have a ranged damage scalar of 1.125. Corruptors .75, Defenders .65. Simple. Open the game, or mids, and look at Dark Blast set. power Dark Blast. Blaster, at 50, undenhanced Dark Blast. Game 62.56, Mids 62.56 Corruptor, at 50, unenhanced Dark Blast, Game 83.42, Mids 83.38 Defender, at 50, unenhanced Dark Blast, Game 36.15, MiDs (46.99) MiDs 36.15 By basic Algebra (true for Blaster and Defender....if you ignore the (46.99) (is this solo?) the base damage of Dark Blast is approx 55.6 Corr should be 41.7. but list as twice that. Scourge calculated in? So the real damage you can count on to open is 1/2 number listed? This falls apart at higher powers due to them changing the damage of the power evidently. Blackstar, Blaster 250.25, yielding a base damage 222.44, Defender 144.5, Corruptor 250.25 same as Blaster and I got zero math to explain that. Fun fact, after CoX the team went into selling used cars.
-
I kept looking at that on MiDs. (I do a little math) So basically that is less than half damage of Blasters. Which does not make sense Damn,. This game is really tough to get anything besides "attack does good damage/" "attack does low damage" How can you program something and not have F-ing numbers to present? Okay, parking Corruptor and rebuilding Blaster. Sigh.
-
I think this may be true with a lot of the ATs that have overlap. Unless MiDs and in game numbers are off my Nightfall and Tenebrous Tentacles cones on the Corruptor do as much or more than any of the 4 cones I have on the Blaster, individually compared. The Nuke is 619 Corr to 791 Blaster. It is a hit in damage across the board. But.... It is not (looks furtively around) like a Sentinel (346).... Also Defender numbers on all attacks for Dark are Waaaaaay below Corr
-
I love an open topic and am curious about your question myself. For me it would not matter. I team with Blasters and Corruptors. One of the reasons I do not run MMs. I just invite a Brute. Instant pet. Nearly as smart too!
-
Its the Vamp thing more than trying for the best power combo The great power of CoH is being able to design nearly any humanoid concept. For this particular one the primary secondary and epic are dark ( or soul ). I was wondering all day long if the Rad with its inefficient DoT Snipe ( but so cool looking!) was actually better on a Corruptor
-
I carry 2-5 break frees at 50. Depending on mission. Great stuff so far. I been on 9 Task/Strike forces with this guy today (since rebuild) including a MoLGTF. The playstyle is a bit wonky compared to the Blaster. Which, a dark/dark Blaster is a bit wonky compared to say a Fire/Temporal. But there are more options with a Corruptor, which feels like more power. Having options to control movement and heal team, rez ally, are important. Usually needed on a crap pug team, but important lol. On the MoLGTF I honestly could have been on a Blaster built with the two AoE mag 2 stuns and played almost the same. I used Tar Patch some and fearsome Stare a LOT. Using Twilight Grasp as a regen debuff on Hard Targets. The Nuke could hit harder, like on the Dark Blaster. I am committed to a Dark/Dark thing, but I drool over my Fire Blasters Nuke. that thing clears rooms and cleans the walls as well. A Dark Blaster does more damage than A Dark Corruptor. But when Scourge kicks in it is sweet. A Dark Blasters (for me) offers only more damage for me and nothing else, well the sustain is nice. I do not use melee attacks. All other powers are the same or similar. With to hit debuffs stronger on Corruptor of course. Then the Corruptor has more tools in the kit. The only thing I lack on the Corruptor is a ST hold. There is one but I need two and there is no way to get two on the Corruptor. (using just Dark/Dark-Dark/Soul) So I left that out. The Blaster can hold Paragon Protectors and Victoria Robots with that trick. The Corruptor will just need to slap Darkest Night and Fear Stare the things. I think playing the Corruptor well is challenging. You have to constantly assess the mission, your teammates, and your next ten seconds of activity. Stun and go in or stun and stay back? To hit debuff this group with fearsome stare? Time for PBAoE chain? Cone Aoe chain? heal / rez duty? Is there a Boss that needs Darkest Night? Is Fluffy still up? Tar Patch here or there? Use Howling Twilight to floor the bosses regen or save it? With Blasting you are just trying to decide whether to burn ST, Cone, or go in for the PBAoE chain. I did not like all the complications of the Corruptor job at first. But the more I do it the more I find "just Blasting" a lazy gaming session. Great sometimes, but not as challenging.
