  1. Yeah. Arcanatime is not thrown out as an insult. It is THE GOLD STANDARD of accuracy. Which I have specifically said I WILL NOT be micro delving into DPS rotations. I did say look at Energy Blast. Evidently you did. Then clearly posted numbers showing the first volley of Sentinels out damage Blasters. Then you seemed upset that I quoted you said that. Since you are delving into DPS it would be helpful, if in context, you add in the whole AT including multiple aim and build up. You do not have to. You do not have to drive between the lines on freeways. Do what you want. But I will be pointing out the things you leave off. "Look at Energy Blast" does not mean "Cherry pick an un boosted attack chain without including DPS rotations etc and then drawing a conclusion" But again, do what you want. Lick frozen light poles for all I care. Run a Sentinel and claim it is whatever you want. Just do not expect me to be going along with your reality. No matter how many cartoons you post.

  4. THat is the real context. I will also take you at your word straight up that your Sentinel out damages your Blaster. i know you are a very good player. So I now have a new data point. For solo play with a good player a Sentinel clears faster than a Blaster. (I am assuming +0/x1, although at higher values it might even favor the Sentinel more) Things left out of the thread I "took out of context" is the larger context. The extra build up on a Blaster. The secondary sets leaning into damage more than survival. I do not play Defenders. The 'data points' I have about Defenders out damaging Sentinels come from people I trust. Much like I took your statement at face value. Some folks have earned cred. I am sure this has to do with all of a Defenders suite of abilities. Lately I have started playing a Corruptor. I switch back and forth between my Dark/Dark/Soul Blaster and Dark^3 Corruptor regularly now. The Blaster, if he can stay on the edge will clean the meat off the bones of spawns. But once things get nasty the Corruptor (in my opinion) is way better at helping a team clean through. Therefore I say the Corruptor helps the teams damage more than the Blaster in those situations. To me a Sentinel brings little to a team or league. Out of context or not that ST attack chain says very little. It does not include a DPS breakdown or available build ups shown in the rotation. A Scrapper does more work by far in my opinion. A Defender changes the playing field. So I will agree a Sentinel out damages a Blaster in solo play, due to all of the "context" of missions. But if I was going to solo Redside again there is a 90% chance I will be on yet another Brute. Not even gonna say it. We all know how silly a comparison would be here. A Brute also brings serious agro control to a team, even my patented no taunt builds. Which helps a team....do more damage. Because then the Blaster is much less worried about Mez and faceplanting
  5. I get that part Bill. And circus atmosphere aside, Rabbit Season/Duck season is only funny for so long. What the H is he saying? It seems he is massively disagreeing with me when I state Sentinels do crap damage. I posit (and i am not bringing out Arcanatime DPS spreadsheets) that Sentinels are out damaged by Defenders. He seems to massively disagree with this, posts some numbers (without including a DPS rotation or analyzation, just "numbers") that state clearly that a Sentinels first ST volley does more than a Blasters. I quote that, respond with amazement, and get slammed for "taking it out of context" What the F context? Someone massively disagrees with my characterization of Sentinelsd being low damage and posts an example of the ST outpacing Blasters. What the F did I miss?

  11. To me this is the only logical progression. Much like their nukes are faster recharge but less target caps. Missing a Snipe is significant. I am not going to micro discuss each power set but the DPS chain on Energy Blast does not need an in depth analysis. Go to mids, open two sets. pull up an unslotted energy Sentinel and an unslotted energy Blaster. Look at the ST damage. I will not do this for anyone. But we cannot get to discussion on what might fix Sentinels. Half the thread is people making a concerted effort to explain that there is nothing wrong with them. Somew even insisting the damage is comparable to Blasters. *shakes head. But, i see people cut off Semis all day long in heavy traffic. Nothing amazes me anymore.

  14. It is a high Recharge build. All those extra powers are 1) generally meh 2) requiring of enhancers i dont want to scrape off the build to try to shore up a mediocre attack. The thing is basically a 4 attack rotation with random stuff thrown in once in a while. No need to overcomplicate that part of it at least. To the topic at hand, I bring out my final argument. "Rabbit Season!"

  16. Okay. So no. If you increase the damage scalar on Sentinels to Blaster levels they still do crapola damagesky. Take an Energy Blast, compare it on Sentinels and Blasters. Even with the Damage Scalar the same a Sentinel will do FAR less damage. Because they do not have attacks that are as good. The ST DPS chain is crap and the restricted number of targets pretty much leaves the AT in the kiddie pool. Because it is a carry in a league going for badges. Get the picture?

  18. Finding ANYTHING to do when RAGE crashes. Yes. THat works great until you are trying to badge, I don't know, ANY incarnate Trial. So you can make a decent (if manic depressive) SS build using pool powers and P2W that will 'get you through' regular content. It will not be a tight strong build, but okay. If your concept allows for fits of sugar crash depression. As soon as the League leader says "Burn the final 2%" and you are on RAGE crash you feel like .....pretty not Super.

Hurl sucks and is only to take out surgeons and flyers. The animation is stupid long.   23. I appreciate the thought. I honestly do. On my Blasters here is the dynamic. AoE AoE AoE repeat until mobs are gone. Boss/AV ST for a minute. continue for X minutes until blob melts. pumping AoE with ST attacks is not necessarily helping. Although anything at this point is an add. Disclaimer: I run ZERO "gimmick" combo powersets. To me they are about as useful as having a tail in RL. Most of that flavor is completelyuseless against true hard targets. The closest I came was running a Invul/Kinetic Tank. My "Tank Mage" Danged thing actually worked moderately well at short/medium range. But, in the end, gimmicky and not as useful as other Tanks at the job. to me. The mechanic was hard to milk for anything meaningful. And since riding the mechanic became the job instead of getting the objective accomplished it is just in the way.
  24. This thread. Maddening. The fact that the Dev Team had a mostly complete fix to this (heavily edited adjectives here) problem and killed the idea due to nerd rage is your clue. Any hope we had for a fix to an iconic Super Hero powerset died that day. Get out a coffin, dig a deep hole, drop it in. Cover. Walk away.
  25. Also it is a decent set. I have a 50 SS/Invul i ran for months on Homecoming. It is not shattered. I do not play it. I have no plans to play it My alt account i use to AE PL my alts is a SS/Fire. I seriously hate that i did that. I should have made it Rad/Fire. The delay every two minutes in farming is stupid. Sets up cascading issues of when to hit buffs and use inspirations. Like driving with a device in the passenger seat you have to fill with fluid every two minutes. Like hey, trying to drive here. Oh wait let me pour crap in this tube here
