  2. and so.... I ran this Fire Tank for a couple days. It is a very solid toon. Lot of fun. I got it T3d and T4 Alpha. All but one accolade, need LRSF. But it is not dark. So I poked around at the Dark Tank I levelled long ago. T3d and did not accolade. No badges. So I must have put it up and disliked it. I ran it "as is" it still had a full build. Its okay. Runs a little hot. To me this means it burns endurance. I run all toggles in Dark, plus fighting tough (no weave) and Focused Accuracy. Soooo.... I just spent a little over an hour tinkering in mids. Squeezed out a tiny bit more energy resistance. In fact all my res went up a sliver except toxic, which took a 12% hit (down from 87.5 to 75.5, pre Incarnate) But... I squeezed on a Miracle global and got stamina as three slots (the Perf shift duo + an End I/O) instead of one. I also 3 slotted Focused Accuracy. This peeled off the Rect Ret and slapped Adjusted Targeting in there. That got 3% neg/Enrg res and shaved the toggle cost considerably. What a hog. .78/s down to .43/s So.... I am back on a Dark Dark lol. Still just 4 pts of KB prot. I was Tanking the heros in a MoDD and they were not too much trouble. Except one kept bouncing me up and down like a basketball. It was not dignified but that was all they could do to me. Dark Dark Tanks solid. Except for the stealth. You have to be extra cautious about team movements. They can grab your agro if you do not stay way out in front. Here is the build. 3. Sooooo... I am just having fun with theme on this. Should be a PvE lead Tank / Pve Burner (no hardcore farming).....until shit gets turned up to high lol. Then like a sub that goes too low....it will just keep going down. slightly smaller. Built for high resists (including 14 pts KB Prot!) and a metric crapton of AoE evilness. 4. Mort Kal gets forgotten a lot. We need more content like this. Short, story driven. Tangible Rewards. Fun. SF Oper Renault is neat as well. Although the feeling "this is a travel power test" is all over it. Still, great tour of the isles and taking advantage of the terrain by Devs. The eyeball fight? Both good and kind of goofy...giant eye in a wall? Classic MMORPG stuff.
  5. Update on the madness. I started mid-day Thursday afternoon. By three pm I had PL'd to 23 or so, then ran (in this order) a DFB for badge, Posi 1 and 2, Tarikoss, and a Synapse. Then a Silver Mantis, a Yin, a Moonfire, a Renault, a Hess, a Citadel, a Mort Kal, a Katie, and a Manticore. Now at level 42. In between each level grouping I respec. Then just bolt on a few pieces if I grab a level. This allowed me to switch out sets as they came into level range and squeeze enhancement slots to powers active during that level range. No longer an issue at 42. Running the Task Forces in order allows me to evolve my thinking of how the build plays as it is running. I can revise and experiment as I go. The thing is already playing way more like a farmer than a regular Tank. Does not feel squishy running the normal content at +0. I know that might change on certain content with Psi or +4 vs certain enemies. Invulnerability it is not. But if the team splits for objectives he can clean a large spawn/room relatively quick. Today I will do a Numina, Ice Mistral, and Sutter. No preference on order. They all top out at 40. I may PL or grab a PI team the last bit to 50. a Dr Q will not be today lol. At 50 I always slam my toon into a farm to open the Alpha. Then email merits to T3 it at least. I looked at the level and decided to PL a bit. Plan was to get to 46. This gives me Fireball (went Pyre mastery for theme and melt armor...) and enough slots to enhance it without respec. This will be available in all 3 of these runs and is nice. I actually got just to 47. That should set me real close to 50 once I run these three TFs.
  6. not my playstyle. you enjoy that you assassin maniac!
  7. I love Dark Melee, and have run it for years. Of course I enjoy the theme. It goes way beyond that. Dark Melee is a swiss army knife of attack sets. With to hit debuffs, heals, and end recovery. It is not "the best" in that it is not the most damaging or most area covered. But it has solid ST damage and is arguably the best set for supporting the minute to minute combat integrity of a melee toon.
  8. Thanks for the replies. I went Tank, Rogue. Did a bit of PLing to 23 or so. Ran a DFB for badge, Posi 1 and 2. Then I did a Tarikoss, 29 min, and a Synapse 1:07. I like to play through all the TFs in level order. Current actual level 32. Yin is next, then Silver Mantis and Moonfire.
  9. obviously they never been on a team that bumped the level and were crawling through a couple of missions...only to get to the open world map filled with CoT and hidden objectives. Oh yeah, stupid can make anything go wrong.
  10. I have been on my Corr 99.5% time since Dec 27.... But sometimes you want a new alt lol I know I want to use Fire Armor and Dark Melee. The decision is what AT. Brutes supposedly do more damage, yet the AoEs on this thing are a lot of the attack chains. Also the Soul Drain and Fiery Embrace will have more effect on a Tank than a Brute where Fury drives the numbers. The Tank armor out of the box is 50% better or so, and this thing will be a little squishy for a Tank. Though I always build heavies to perform as best as possible to hellish environments. Thoughts before this whole thread gets shoved into another sub forum where few people look? Vote now!
  11. i would guess the only possible change is if we get some type of bio feedback "player one" mmorpgs that require more than a phone can do and offer more immersion. then the gaming world will spin again.
  12. The underlying theme to me that Supers are not popular or enduring as the reason for no big houses running a MMORPG Super game seems iffy to me. Yet there is not one... sooooo But let's also examine the fact that almost all mmorpgs shrivel and die after a year. WoW reinvents itself every couple years and everyone loves hates it but are soooo invested they just keep playing. No one else is that dug in.
  13. I only ran stone armor on live once, on a Brute. I was newb. Really enjoyed the look. Had a rock demon. Then at 32 my costume…. Something bad happened… I never ran it again I have two issues with Stone. The aforementioned costume problem. The power pick problematic perception. If you build for granite it is my understanding you do not need all the powers from the set. So the set to me sounds like it does not work synergistically. I wouldn’t know. Sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie. I will never know. I will not eat the MFer. As I understand it Stone is very similar to Invul in toughness. Slightly better in some fights, slightly worse in others. But you cannot move. Of course there is TP. Which did not make thematic sense to me so I never explored I am unsure of how changes have affected it
  14. So had a couple interesting pugs today. No, i did not quit any… There was an ad for a 54 kill most ITF. I LFGd in and …. Missed it. So with local encouragement i formed one. Then had to help one of the team get midnight badge and port in. The TF went sooth then i joined a speed aeon. Were ready to load in when the team leader was like “Do you guys know this?” …record player needle drug across a 78…. Tires falling off the car at 80….buffalo stampede…. Luckily it was not the lead who was new. Just had a newer player. Things went fine. But i swear i am developing a pink panther eye twitch
  15. This is why I am enjoying my Corruptor this year. Honestly it would be hard to go back to melee now. I can sit at deaths door and ignore my health. Because 90% time i will not drop, complete what i am doing, and heal in two attacks to full. If i drop i have a rez with stun. I can heal anyone. I click on them and get near then hit team heal. If they are dying and way split i tp them to me. Heal and/or rez them. I debuff everything at the start of a fight. I ST problems (surgeons and end drainers and such) I AoE in the cheap section of Blaster (which is a nice neighborhood) i do all of these things better around teammates because I alleviate many of their concerns and help maximize their efforts. Basically i am an overpowered MM and the team are my minions…. So much more powerful than eating the Alpha and smashing stuff as a Brute. Oh…I have also figured out how to eat the Alpha in 95%+ of content… combo of stuns and debuffs. Then i go through PBAoE ghetto Blaster attack chain
  16. I am doing it a lot now, and I see that. But when I started doing it I was a carry for the first? #runs (a lot) I also target through the tank if we have one. Just ran one and it was ....okay. And i have run this thing 40-60 times? Well at least 30 and less than 100.... Granted, I am not good at stuff until I am comfortable. too OCD. But this F-er has not been fun for me. At all. So...yeah for new content. Built for a game this never was.... Oh, and Brutes? Really suck in there. The small difference in armor between a Tank and a Brute is huge in this type of content. The ability for a Tank to hard cap 100 on resists plays a big role. Big Edit: what do i mean hardcap 100 resist. yes, Brutes and Tanks cap at 90% res. But Resists is it's own Res Debuff Defense. So 100 gives an unreduceable Resistance value, always 90%. Brutes achieve this WAY less often than Tanks. And the Goldbrickers do resistance debuff. So, on top of everything else I do not like about Aeon it took a cheap shot at Brutes nutsack on the way out. Because this Dev staff wants a Tank and a bunch of Corr. Not a Brute, other squishies, meh, okay, not optimal. But a Brute? Let's just buff the Tank some more... More AoE this time? Or maybe increase the ST damage mechanic this time around?
  17. Another couple weeks and you'll be tanking 4 star ITFs on that monster. You rolled a serious one.
  18. Glad you had fun. Was a good run. Stayed together and the kill zone sizzled. Even Cyclops and Minotaurs just melted. For those curious about the bio but not curious enough to run around trying to find an old vampire... "Yes, a real vampire. No, not like the Council. They make those things in test tubes. No, I do not glitter. No, I do not want to go to High School and start a social life. Go away." A good bio can be right to the point.
  19. I do not use target macros. Maybe I should. But writing one for every thing I want to attack and keeping track of them is more than I want to do. I use the game interface as it is 99% time. Soooooo in the Dr Aeon where the boss flies all over the place through hundreds of Goldbrickers in a warehouse? Yeah, I rarely hit that bitch. So, sure, make the bosses fly. Hell, make them pop in and out of extra dimensional space. Or attack us from under the floor. But I do not run the Aeon much. Once I get the badges for this years toon (hopefully soon) I may never run it again. BECAUSE IT SUCKS.
  20. He may play on Homecoming. Certainly, any knowledge of US is not going to change the question ROFLMAO
  21. One thing stands out about old Redside live. You join a PUG and load into a mission. If you can handle the first group you will be okay. Some tricky areas of the map you may need strategy to pull and the last fight will include a boss/EB/AV. But if you could handle the first group you would prob be okay. If your team is struggling on that first fight just bail. Villains gotta be careful. The modern game is just more lopsided. Either we steamroll everything or you get an hour into a 2-4 star and just get stuck.
  22. Things I will run anytime they are advertised is the gold standard. In no particular order: ITF Virgil Tarikoss Market Crash TinPex Silver, they are good. But I need to be in the mood: LGTF, LRSF, Ms Lib, Speed Aeon, any Inc Trial Bronze; I will jump on one if the server seems light in jumping on and I am bored; Barracuda or Khan, Yin, Katie or Moonpiefire Toilet bowl ring; Synapse, any Shadow Shard.
  23. no enhancers at all. lets just get pure AT and teamwork
