I commend those who use this power as a tool for pushing enemies into the Storm Cell, however the repel is not there for this purpose. Jet Stream is a utility power used for safety, getting enemies further away from you. Many players will appreciate that ability, especially at early levels. Eventually players may no longer will want the utility and can choose to respec out of it, or slot a KB2KD IO to remove the repel if they choose to, or they may like to keep the utility and leave the power as is.
The options are available to players to tune the power to their liking and we will not limit those options. The repel has utility and is thematic; it will not be removed.
Does the KB>KD conversion work on repel? It doesn't work on Ki Push or Hurricane's repel.

All three of them speak for the entire playerbase, apparently, according to an earlier post.
If people are having that much issue with storm cell placement and jet stream repel, I'm inclined to say it's a skill issue that can be overcome with some practice. After some hours of testing, I got it down pretty well.
The devs added a knockback to knockdown conversion because knockback is such a hated effect. Pretty sure it's not just three people.
Personally, I wouldn't have an issue with the set if it was just knockback in Jet Stream. But you can't convert repel to knockdown. You're still going to shove enemies away.- 1

The one thing that feels off visually is Chain Lightning.
Why are we creating all these clouds and storms that drop the damage down from the sky, then randomly creating a ball of lightning in our hands then chucking it up for a free throw? Make it come from the sky, or outward as a bolt, like the chain lightning from electric control- 2

Okay whole player base.
You're right. Too hyperbolic.

And if you see the value of the repel, especially when soloing? Oh wait, I forgot, all powers must fit the meta and be tweaked and optimized for only ub3rl33t hard-mode players, where anything that drops your DPS by even a fraction of a % must be eradicated. 🤡What are you even talking about?
It's not about numbers. It's about a mechanic that inconveniences every other player on your team when you use it.
It's about not making melee players have to chase an enemy you threw across the room. It's about not making every kinetics ability miss everyone because you threw their target across the room. Not throwing enemies outside of a Faraday Cage where it's safer. It's about not making every power that gets a bonus for the amount of enemies in its radius less powerful.
The game is designed for enemies to cluster up. Repel does the opposite.

The repel is fine. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not useful or shouldn't be there. If it bugs you so much make sure Storm Cell is down first (there any many reasons why you would want to do this anyway)."Be sure to use Storm Cell first to make this power not suck"
or just make the power not suck to begin with.- 3

Except they've admitted they haven't.Every single person in this thread who has said repel sucks has admitted they haven't tested it?
I've tested it. Repel is bad. Repel sucks.- 3

OMG all you people bitching and moaning about the repel need to stop. GO PLAY IT BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN.
Storm Cell follows you around like Carrion Creepers. It doesn't need a shorter duration or recharge. It works fine. You would know this IF YOU ACTUALLY PLAYED THE SET.You're assuming no one has tested it.
People are literally posting pictures of their test, to demonstrate why it's a bad mechanic.- 2

Here's some focused feedback for the people wanting knockback or repel removed or changed to KD or whatever . . . just because you don't like the mechanic doesn't mean it needs to be removed.
When the whole playerbase (except for contrarians) dislikes something it's probably not a good thing to keep in the game.

Looking for a good plant (or tree specific) hero name. Everything I could think of besides Arboreal Boy is taken, and I'm not thrilled with it.

Mine is "oops I hit the wrong key".

Character name: Explore Builder
Global: @Wravis
Base or SG Name: Lake
Shard: Everlasting
Passcode: exploreonfoot-20176
Item Count: 3,100
Category for Contest: RP under 7k
Other associated contributors: @Jibily (he's also me, though)
Additional Info / Must-See Areas of Note:The base code is exploreonfoot because it's better if you explore on foot.
It's a mountain lake with hiking trails to explore!
Plus a couple caves. Some hoodlum vandalized them.
Also many, many hidden areas. But I won't post their locations because that defeats the purpose of hiding Easter eggs.- 3

Thanks GM Impervium for your quick action here. I feel better knowing Dacy and Easter Bunny will hold a clean contest and invitation unimpeded by any discusssion arising. Reasonable to say they'll have more contestants too.

Man you should just stop posting here. You've been patronizing and rude every post.

You asked why I made a suggestion. I answered.
You did not like my answer to you questioning my suggestion. You are arguing with my opinion with your opinion.
I didn't ask for your opinion. You asked for mine.
I made a suggestion. The Community Leaders can think about it. They are the ones that will make the decision.
There's no need to get belligerent. This is a forum. People discuss things.
You gave your opinion and I wanted clarification on why you think there's a benefit of building out of the base. I even thumbed up your post because I thought it is potentially a good point. But instead of clarifying you threw a fit. 🤷♂️- 1

I think that there are probably more base builders that don't build outside of the base than do and obviously someone that builds outside of a base is building a more "impressive" base to many base viewers/tourists.
I'm not sure how obvious or true that is! There's nothing inherently more impressive about it, is there? The only real instant benefit is outdoor bases not having walls around everything. But you trade those walls for endless void.

I would make at least 1 category that is for bases that don't build "outside"/"on top" of the base.
I'm not saying that it's a bad idea but I'm curious why you think that distinction is needed.

Ok Dacy, lol, we will simply disagree and call it a day. And that is okay, for we all come to the wisdom bridge on our path where we learn one who disagrees with us is not a threat, but simply someone who sees things a little differently, who could actually be our friend, and from whom we might learn a thing or two :).
However, so long as you apply this lay view of "more things = bigger and better" I'm gonna have to not join this, or any other community event so managed. Which is kinda sad because I was thinking about taking part, maybe. But that’s life! (As you can tell, these are only my first three posts to this forum, as I don't do social media. Rather, the game is my social media. Looks like I'm off to a great start!).
I will, however, wish all participants utmost joy and success. Y'all have fun.
Good luck,
Monk of IndomWhere are you getting "more things=bigger and better" from? There's the same amount of "smaller is better"/"less is more" categories.

Now then, I'll leave you with one final vision:
Two players are engaged in a discussion, with a couple witnesses about, in AP:
Player 1: "Hey I see you won the Base Building Contest. Congratulations!"
Player 2: "Ahhh yes, Thank you. I see you won too! Congratulations to you too, and well done!"
"Thanks!"
"I won in X Category, UNDER Y number of items."
"Ahhh very interesting. I too won in X Category, only I won in... OVER Y number of items."
"Ahhh I see…"
Witness 1 to Witness 2, “Player 1’s is bigger than Player 2’s, let’s go look at his first.”
“Uh huh.”
I will leave it to you, Good Readers, to assess the outcome of such a discussion, and upon whom, in secret, the greater or lesser esteem is placed...
Monk of Indom
Switch the random hypothetical and the outcome is different. Maybe those random witnesses are more impressed by someone creating a small but meticulous base? Impressed that the person was able to limit themselves and still create something award-winning.
What's I think is more likely though is that they go check out both.- 1

Which is a nerf to super speed. It makes speed pool as irrelevant as fitness now. Just give everyone inherent hasten, if I have to slot stealth IOs like every other power set (as Storm/Dark/cold could slot end instead). This doesn't differentiate builds, it homogenized a piece for all builds. It was one of those benefits to those power sets pre IOs that persisted past IOs. It persisted until this dumb change.
Super speed makes you run super fast and jump far. Do you also think Leaping is useless? Teleporting?
They get you there faster. That’s what they’re for.
I agree the change is stupid but that doesn’t make the set irrelevant.

Cool, thanks for clarifying!
Sorry I have a hard time hearing you when you're up there on your high horse.
The posts were all saying it takes knockback sets. Which means absolutely nothing when hurricane also takes knockback sets, can be slotted with KB>KD, and still repels.
