Well I played them well enough back when it was just SOs and IOs took everything to the next level, since everything benefits from IOs I'll always be coming from the IO perspective. How many new players to the game are there really compared to those that should know about the system? If someone chooses not to delve at least a little bit into the IO sphere that's on them, I enjoy the math so I like what we can do to apply our brains to our playstyles. Plus the grind is so much less on these player run servers, back on live you really had to choose what you invested in, on these servers any new character I make I kit out with a good selection of IO sets by lvl 30+, so IOs aren't all that hard to build up once you get at least one character up to 50. I don't want to dumb the game down for someone that just shows up and plays for an hour a week and doesn't care to dig deeper into IOs, we all had to learn them at one time. But I am happy to help fund someone new to the game's first character or chime into the help channel.

Blasters were only unpopular to people that couldn't play it tactically. Now they are so mundane if ever I feel like a mind numbing easy play day I jump on my tank or blaster, blaster is more fun though watching the wake of devastation it leaves, the tank is prettier and doesn't die. Snipes and nuke changes (albeit not what it is currently) and maybe half of what happened within their secondary's would have sufficed, the extra hp was a kick to the nuts of all the other squishies. Since blasters now have all that extra stuff in their kit and the reasoning for them having more hp than the rest of the squishies is that they supposedly didn't have those options then lets be fair and raise the base and max hp of controllers, doms, corruptors and defenders to match. Seems like a fair assessment wouldn't it @macskull? I don't actually want my dom buffed like this or at all really, the revamps were well done, just pointing out options. Or we could save all that extra coding time and revert the hp for just the blasters since they're good now. I'd like to pvp again though, just not what this current mess is so do pass those sentiments along. Seeing how snipes were the only thing affecting blasters this issue I think I'm a little off topic and ranting at the moon.
-
But can we revert blaster hp max to tolerable levels or must we suffer them with that uber hp and absorb shields to boot? I'm not so certain about you pvp'ers and your wants if all we ever see is such diverse pvp tactics. 😛

Pretty sure tactical arrow was tinkered with by Powerhouse formerly Stars unless my SCoRE server contacts have misled me. Everything from that server was refined and stabilized to the form we have now. At any time they could have realized the powercreep and addressed the issue at that moment, and it was the beta code so the live devs might not have integrated a lot of that change.

The snipe and nuke changes were warranted. Snipe was never really used since most fights just happened in haste so making fast snipe available for everyone is great and being that it is only single target it's not all that overpowering making it a useful attack in your assault arsenal now. Nukes on the other hand in the iteration they are in now have ruined quite a lot. Sure we don't want to go back to what they were before with a full endo crash but these powers weren't all that bad before, just time it right with a few blues and you're good to keep on trucking. For the damage they do to everything in the field nukes should have a 50% endo crash and some of the recharge reduced. I don't want the arbitrary recharge value set for you by the dev team, I'd just like the recharge raised higher so that those who like and use their nuke know to slot it with a set with recharge. Blasters have been made silly which illustrates how out of whack one squishy is above all the rest. I was on a 7 man blaster and a dom STF the other day, that's where we're at, cool I guess. Whoever has the blaster fetish on the dev team needs to have a hard look in the mirror. A big way to fixing things for people calling for more meaningful aggro control, team buffs and a lot of other things that hasn't had their power creep quite set in yet is to tone down those nukes and see where we stand.

Um that's exactly what you'll get then. Seeds of Confusion has spoiled people.

If I'm not mistaken a while back maybe more than a year they did a little poll to gauge what most people wanted. More content, particularly higher level content to do was pretty high. Yet here we are no new higher level stuff and dwindling numbers because even though you can make a new EM scrapper with the new fly they're still only getting to play the same ol' stuff.

New Level 50 Taskforces with INSANELY Hard End Boss AVs
Mezmera replied to America's Angel's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You're getting bones thrown left and right, where has there been any new content not sub-50? You do realize there's a crap ton of stuff to do before level 45? I mean the amount to do end game pales way in comparison, was hoping Going Rogue would have balanced that upwards but alas not. Now we have 3 tutorial zones to choose from. More to do endgame is still more content for any alt-ist. -
New Level 50 Taskforces with INSANELY Hard End Boss AVs
Mezmera replied to America's Angel's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yeah @America's Angel put your talents to use, see if you can solo one of these +4x8. But yeah more high level official stuffs to do would be appreciated, since it polled out as one of the higher things people wanted and all. New fly was neat though. -
Well my EM stalker obliterates single targets. You're substituting just the AS for a bit more AoE so I'm sure EM is just fine all around on scrappers. EM/Bio would probably have people asking where that AV went. The heal I'm sure is kicking in but I'm too busy watching for ET to recharge to care to notice the heal.

Leaping travel (best all arounder imo). Drop an Achilles proc into that ST debuff and now it's -27% resist 90% of the time, great for AV fights. Unleash Potential is a far better defense option than CJ, well slotted you get 20% defense to all and powerboosting nets you another 10%. Underrated set for sure. -

1: Yeah I actually don't like power creep but I do like the ability to use the creativity afforded me with power selections and IO's. Arbitrarily removing recharge from a power with a big cost to obtain which if I'm taking RoP I'm slotting it well enough to get the best bang for my buck. No one wants their actual OP powers (nukes as an example) to have such a limitation so I don't think it's exactly fair to compare a power to Shields godmode which most shield players hardly even use but for the bonuses. 2: Yes I've teamed with spines/fire brutes spec'd specific to farms who were doing regular content and getting beat up pretty well and then there's the fire blaster obliterating the map in a single bound. Again its just apples and oranges. I don't want to tell the brute how to play any more than the blaster. 3: Agreement -

1: I know not saying we walk things back, just pointing out the genie is well out of the bottle so we can't just hold our standards to what was last on live 2: Still fire blast is way over selected comparably to all blast sets so again who's rules we going by? 3: All I really want is more endgame and harder stuff to pit my characters up against. It's more content for you, me and everyone else. -

1: Lots of changes since the game was last on live unless you're to suggest we just delete everything added since. 2: And all the Fire Blast players overperforming? Who makes up this set of what's allowed and not? 3: It was the devs design decision with Going Rogue to give us more content in all its forms, people were promised fleshed out endgame and others were promised more to do at low levels. They implemented the new tutorial zone which is so populous here but trickled in the endgame content and those who were happy to support people having their new low level zones were left in the dirt when it came to more stuff to do with their powerful favorite characters. What the devs decide doesn't mean it'll precipitate into great results. -
Yeah my doms have great defenses outside of my Demonic accolade which I don't calculate into my build but it is in the toolkit if I ever need it in emergencies. Counting accolades into things if it's not the auto ones I don't consider a good basis to make my decision by. The powers should be good and meaningful if ever you need it with a negative aspect once its over. Typically on my shield tank if I ever do need One With the Shield it's actually for the endurance if ever Recluse's wicked end debuff manages to get through my defense. If it shuts a lot of things down I can still ride that nice resistance out while I need it. But I do only end up using it once a week ever. The t9's should be inspected individually by their overall design of the power set I agree with very much. Shield is nice because there's a lot of balance in the set but trends towards defense so a lot of the resist you get in it's t9 is appreciated whenever you'd like to use it that way with a manageable crash.

I believe they redid the accolades, it used to be 25 mins affected by global recharge but they lowered it recently I think to be unaffected by global recharge but at I'm thinking 8-10 mins.

Nah you were fine it was legit on topic. Metaphors started to jump to support sets and then it tapered off to something else. Jimmy was fine to reverse time some of that chat. -
Yes, might want to mention that to the one that started the conversation because it'll affect their lolpvp and then insults anyone that decides to chime in to their discourse if they get the feeling it sounds like a nerf to how their pvp will play, out come the insults. This topic is deceptively really about pvp.

I did enjoy the pvp even when they changed the mez mechanic. Upon my return I saw all the ice/plant blasters and made my own blaster. Once I finished and got my 1600 hp one of my buddies I pvp with said blaster max hp cap was raised......... That confirmed for me that no wonder all I'll see is blasters with 5 procs in their hold attacks. Not fun, not diverse so I'll take my leave until they fix things so we don't regress even further to all we see are blasters and melee toons "having" to survive using their godmodes.

You know nothing little one

Be it buffs, nerfs or what have you, we all have access to play the same things. I don't want any dev time wasted on anything but bringing us and our friends new stuff to play with. Mostly I want more incarnate stuff that was promised when I bought Going Rogue. I was fine supporting a whole new tutorial area for yet more low level content to do in Praetoria for those that only saw more low level content as new but I did want my cake as well with the full 10 more incarnate levels and corresponding content to come with. The same things to do just with tweaked powersets is still the same things to do.
-
I'm not the one saying they can't pvp without their godmode without realizing some kind of change may make it different for you so you won't need to rely on it as much in pvp. They totally redid everything about the mez mechanic to make it easier for you all against characters like mine but all of a sudden I'm supposed to feel bad for you if they have a look at how your t9 plays? Survive, Adapt.

Mezmera replied to Captain Powerhouse's topic in Developer's Corner
I was making the case for why couldn't @SeraphimKensai suggestion of also making Spirit Ward absorb shield tether to yourself as well making it more attractive to want to use. The blaster's not gonna care that he has buffed a teammate as much as if it also gives them a bit more of a shield. It'd be a way to promote teaming, not just going off on your own and actually making use of powers. The suggestion was that we couldn't do that because support sets don't do good things like this which is untrue on its face. Adjust the values as you see fit and make the power only once affecting like vengeance. Pretty simple, I like the idea in addition to what Spirit Ward is morphing into. This is clogging things up I'm taking my leave. -

You do realize Corruptors and Defenders can get power boost from the Soul Mastery yes? It also comes with Soul Drain and a nice resistance shield in the pool as well should you find those things attractive. The "why for not's" don't hold much weight when you can manipulate the values to your liking.
