  1. And to be fair Mind Control is a legacy power set so Mass Confusion got its rebalancing ages before Seeds of Confusion even became a thing. Since it was still a newer powerset people comparing Mass Confusion would be asking for them to make it like Seeds which I'd see them making Seeds more like Mass Confusion. Seeds is OP, yes we know, plant is good.

    Just logged onto my Grav/Nrg dom. I made a 2nd build so all of my powers were empty. Fighting a lvl 49 Warwolf Lieutenant here's the numbers from the 4 powers once he was held to be fair to Propel. No using buffs or inspirations, all even playing field 2s animation You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Propel for 74.7 points of Smashing damage. You knock Eclipse Nightwolf Champion off their feet with your Propel! You knock Eclipse Nightwolf Champion off their feet with your Propel! You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Propel for 18.67 (THIS IS YOUR IMPACT) 2.53s animation You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Total Focus for 65.37 points of Smashing damage. You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Total Focus for 113.15 points of Energy damage. 1.67s animation You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Power Burst for 29.72 points of Smashing damage. Looks like Propel is quite a bit lower and these powers are unenhanced which would only amplify how much better the assault attacks are. You want to bring it to dpa propel has a 2s animation to burst 1.67s and snipe at 1.33s only total focus is more at 2.5s, I'd still take total focus' damage for the bit more animation. To further pick on Propel I went back and checked it against Bone Smasher and Power Blast against a lvl 51 Lt Wolf 2s animation You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Propel for 67.3 points of Smashing damage. You knock Eclipse Nightwolf Champion off their feet with your Propel! You knock Eclipse Nightwolf Champion off their feet with your Propel! You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Propel for 16.82 points of Smashing damage [IMPACT!]. 1.5s animation You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Bone Smasher for 29.75 points of Smashing damage. You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Bone Smasher for 51.49 points of Energy damage. 1.67s animation You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Power Blast for 16.82 points of Smashing damage. You hit Eclipse Nightwolf Champion with your Power Blast for 58.23 points of Energy damage. Point being don't rely on ANY damage from your control when that is 5 attacks at least better in Energy Assault even just based on dpa they're waaaaayyy better than Propel. Yes Propel may be better than the t1 blasts and throwing a shoe but that's about it.

    All ranged Energy attacks do knockback which means they can all slot that proc if they like as well. Not saying I see a need for any of that gimmick since you can slot better for permanent recharge. Okay maybe Lift is better than the dom t1 blasts but that's not saying much. My doms don't slot that t1 blast nor do they have any use of it in any chain when you get so many better assault attacks blooming later.

    There's no way Propel is out damaging Power Burst nor Total Focus seeing how they do equal to more damage than the Snipe. Gravity attacks on doms are redundant.
  5. It's the whole reason to go with Mind Control. If you want a pet there's a plethora of other power sets to choose. Mass Confusion gives you 16 pets all at once and you have the regular ST confuse where you can keep enemy bosses as your pet as long as you wish. Who needs a pet that'll just get killed running across the map when you can make many pets with every group? The most appealing thing about Mind Control is the amount of control within the set and how seamless it is to use each and every power. It has no use for a summon pet and I give a very big No to losing Mass Confusion.

    Well in the early levels it's a different feel. So that you have something to attack with you'll want to get bone smasher and power blast. Grav you want the hold and maybe the aoe immobilize. After level 30 I respec and drop quite a bit of those Energy attacks for the later ones. After lvl 30 you'll just end up using Power Up, TF, Power Burst, Snipe and likely epic pool attacks.

On my dom I take Soul Mastery for all those nice powers, one of them is the pbaoe endurance drain, it's a fantastic emergency power which comes in handy if I'm running hot and far from re-clicking domination. To make it a useful power outside of just the refill I slot the pvp -res proc which is sure fire thanks to the long recharge of it so I'm getting a refill and a -res debuff whichever I feel useful in the moment I get both. Aside from perma dom there's plenty of options available for endurance recovery, most epic pools have some kind of endurance optimization power. I'm not saying they don't run hot on endurance but there is plenty of options available to fix it for doms.

    It's a different animal. Has likely the highest ST dps for doms with the energy release mechanic and power burst, snipe and total focus. Then on top of that is the power boost power which boosts your defense values and makes your controls last much longer, paired with domination it's some real long lockdown.
  10. Yeah this is what I feel it's like to be Kinetic Melee at the moment. Honorable looking but not sure how effective it is when the blaster just pews dead your targets.
  11. I like my shield/street justice tank. StJ on tanks has a very nice resistance debuff in one of the ST attacks which is great on those boss fights which also is a part of your attack chain, plus stj looks like you're bar room brawling. The only thing it feels is that StJ may be light on the aoe a tad but shield fills that in nice.
  12. I really enjoy my shield tanker, it has a great team buff in super maneuvers, a nice little damage debuff aggro shield, a fun additional strong aoe attack from your defense of all things. With IO's I run +56% on my positional defenses, have 3300hp, at least 60% resist on everything even psi resist without using the godmode which does come in handy on occasion. Just take all the shield powers, slot some IO's and go have fun. The only thing my tank is missing is a heal of some sort, no big whoop with everything I can get from it I'll just carry a few greens and went with the heal incarnate power which I end up using to heal teammates more so. Tanks are always welcome on teams just take your taunt and team buffs and you're fine to play. So it really just comes down to what you'll enjoy playing yourself.

    Plant control is the training wheels easy dom to play. Mind control once you get good with it is probably the most fun one to play, it's a very fluid playstyle. I enjoy Energy Assault a lot but any of the revamped powersets are likely pretty good, I do like ones with a power boost power, it's a unique ability really great for doms. There's also tons of good epic pools but my favorite is Soul Mastery, Soul Drain is a fabulous power and the whole pool fills up nicely some of the missing aoe damage I may need. Be sure to chase those bonuses with +recharge and +range defense.
  14. I would like to see a Praetorian version of epic pools to be available too. It'll give people reason to go to those zones to open them up with a patron like arc. Some AT's have great epic pools and some don't and with these ones I'd want them to offer some of what we already can't get. Like if we based a pool off of Neuron we'd likely just get another electric pool so I don't want that. But what I would find interesting if say 5 of the different factions got a pool you could align with. Carnival of Light pool would be neat, then there'd be something like Knives of Vengeance, maybe the one with the ghouls for a toxic pool and so on.
  15. For doms I target the most beneficial whole sets and whatever procs come with it then great, usually purple sets are great. For the +recharge proc I do not like to slot those in any way, I'd rather have full control of my recharge than a gimmick proc boost to rely on. Doms for sure are a hard one to squeeze procs into since every slot seems that much more in demand. I like to slot 2 hold procs into my aoe hold since they're pretty much surefire and snipes and other longer recharging powers to take advantage of the almost certain possible added damage.
  16. I have a Grav dominator and I also have experience with Elec assault with the Mu patron. For Grav take the hold, aoe hold, wormhole, pet and likely another aoe control like the immob, maybe I'm missing something but can't recall what else may be important in the control. For elec take the BU, snipe, thunderstrike, the t1 blast and another of the better blasts, maybe the little elec ball pet its optional if you have room. Last for Mu I take the shield, the godmode and for sure the pet and slot it up it's a pocket healer. Generally on doms I don't like to take more than 6 powers from the primary and secondary's so I leave room to build myself through the pools. Hasten for sure, tough/weave and leadership, leaving the last pool for whatever you like. Have fun!
  17. The best of all worlds if you're playing melee is an EM stalker with Force of Will pool. Stupid damage AND you can debuff if you're stuck in these situations. Think I came back from something as the PUG were organizing the thing, looking up I saw a bunch of melee and rather than quit out I moved that debuff higher into my chain. Reichsman sure is a slog though with a dom as the only debuffer just so you know.
  18. Ever been the lone dom on an unplanned all melee Khan? Thank god for Weaken Resolve and the Achilles proc. I was mashing that as soon as it recharged.
  19. Okay good and all and you helped fix something doing 4.2 crit damage scale on fast snipe to 2.3 max scale. That is a reduction of almost half the potential crit damage that wasn't supposed to be. I'd pay no mind to something I can crit 5% more or a smidge better when you're losing half of the crit damage scale. But it likely works out in the end over time so great, you had them fix it to what it was supposed to do. I'm not sure how scrappers play but when my stalker has her goodies ready to fire I'm using the attacks in the primary that benefit most from them and synergize with the rest, usually the AS or AoE attack, snipe is for runners and filler extreme damage blasts. I'm not arguing there wasn't a bug fix necessary but trying to say all melee snipes were better than before is not exactly accurate. A few now have better odds to crit at half the additional crit damage. Fixed thanks!

Sure but if they ever fix Bonfire make sure to relay that message to those players and tell them that their power was built off of Rise of the Phoenix and thus does crazy knockback and with a stupid enhancements it permanently knocks them back in place. There's lots of powers that react in ways unintended and lowering that is still a nerf, bug fix or not. It's trivial. And again I reiterate they wanted to lower the damage output of melee snipes so if they removed their original idea of lowering PPM they did it elsewhere. And again it's trivial.
  21. Okay but their intent was to reduce the abusive damage of melee snipes so you don't just roll back a change to damage from proc'ing if it's not being accounted for elsewhere @Bopper like @Uruare is pointing out. Overall it's a wash for the meleers snipe so meh.

Snipe Powers Fast (in-combat) snipes have had their ranges normalized to 80ft (and 100ft for Psi) Slow snipes are unaffected and retain their increased range Scrapper & Stalker epic snipes only: Internal cooldown reduced from 24s to 12s The internal cooldown is only used for PPM calculations, the actual power cooldown is still 24s Pretty sure this was a thing they discussed in that first build on beta and since there wasn't the level of opposition to it then I'd assumed it flew in under the radar and maybe got left off the newer patch notes. But PPM was getting cut drastically.
  23. To me it looks like fast snipe range may have been an issue to address more so something to do with PvP than anything in game that would seem unfair to snipe a npc running away from you. They're solidifying it into the strong ranged blast that it is and mostly being used as, it does break the immersion now to have to move from your spot to snipe a runner. The melee snipers it seemed to be a wash, changing front loaded damage and lowering proc rates to allow for more crit chances at lower damage and less range.
  24. Maybe I'm from a different era but I enjoy banter in whatever form it takes. Sure it can go a bit too far but if you're going to call someone a "troll" for pointing out your flawed statements then it seems fair game that @tidge gets to respond in kind if they so choose. Nothing's been ratcheted up to the point where we need to tell them to go to their naughty corners. But I'm not saying you can't post this diatribe as I support your right to full communication as well. Edit: You should give a character with a snipe a whirl it is a fun power to use, but I do agree it's much less fun reducing the range on it since you were likely just blasting a runner and it was great to be like "Oh where do you think you are going?!".
