Ultimate Spines/Fire Farmer

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the forum, and I'm not trying to be mean, just prevent you or others from making a mistake - this isn't an ultimate Spines/Fire farmer. It probably isn't even an average Spines/Fire farmer. I'm no Spines/Fire farming expert, but I would expect to see 45% fire defense on an average Spines/Fire farmer. 39% is perhaps good enough, but I think most people go all the way. I would expect to see more AoEs, specifically Spine Burst, Electrifying Fences, and Ball Lightning. I would expect to see perma Hasten or fairly close to it - you say you have it, but the build doesn't even look close to perma Hasten unless I'm missing something. Hasten shows a 19.7-second gap, but it will actually be longer than that, because during the gap it is recharging more slowly, so probably a few seconds longer than that. It's an impressive amount of regeneration, but if you need it at all (I'm not sure you do), you probably only need it because you have 39% fire defense instead of 45% fire defense. It would have been easier to get that last 6% fire defense and not worry so much about regeneration. That frees up your epic to pick up some more AoE. Endurance can be an issue then, but you have Consume, though many people prefer Ageless.

I doubt this is the ultimate Spines/Fire farmer either, but as an example of a solid Spines/Fire farmer, you could refer to this thread:

In which Warlawk (edit: Ugh, how do I tag someone?) posted this example build, which has the basic features I would expect on a Spines/Fire farmer. There are a number of other Spines/Fire farming builds posted. This just happens to be the first one, and an example of what I'm talking about.

I appreciate the input Werner.

I agree it could be better in several ways...this was just what I consider ultimate for my needs. (folks that team with me tend to agree)

I can speed through fire farm maps in no time...or I can set burn on auto and go make a sandwich and not worry about deaths.

I can also do regular non fire farm stuff without having to change to an alt build, which is nice.

I'm sure others will have their own opinions about it and I'd love to see what they have come up with.

@Werner To tag people just start with the @ and start typing their user name. It should give you a drop down right in the text entry field that will have people matching that name.

EZ Welcome to the wonderful world of farming! The thread Werner linked is also in my signature. It has a bunch of builds for a lot of different primary sets but more importantly it has a bunch of tips, trick macros and other goodies in there. The thread is absolutely a community work and has been refined and expanded with information gleaned from the forums and discord. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up!

It actually would not be a terrible build for a rad/fire farmer, but then Rad focuses more on extra damage in single target attacks to spread contaminated damage rather than utilizing an array of aoes like spines does. maximum recharge for fusion-powered atom smasher to maximize contamination, devastating blow and radioactive smash to 'trigger' contaminated explosions and build-ups , and proc-infused irradiated ground spreading the effects of +recharge and -res to maximise all the delicious contaminated bonus damage is a VERY different methodology from spine's maximizing aoe chains.

But for spines it is... a little slow. It's a good start, though. At least it gets you thinking about set synergies.

this is my Fire Spine build, Its a bit on the end heavy side but with ageless it doesn't matter. also went with Pyre mastery to take advantage of Fiery Embrace + fireball and melt armor helps me kill things faster. the forced feedback in ripper procs all the time.  Burn->fireball->Ripper->Throw spines and cross punch if your FF fails to proc and ageless is down

Softcapped S&L Defense

hardcapped Melee defense

this build can solo the  ITF.....my fastest time +2/8 30min  (take oranges with you for the 2nd mish)
