A "money is no object" TW/Bio build

DR_Mechano

Recommended Posts

Just finished my SS/Invuln brute build who, despite the 2 winter IO sets and both ATO sets, wasn't too bad to get going I'm looking for a new pet project and now I'm (slowly) learning how to play the market I was curious what a top of the line, no expenses spared, TWP/BIO build on a scrapper would look like.

I've been tweaking in Mids I can usually hard cap s/l resistances but can't get my defenses anywhere near the 45% mark, is it possible with Bio armour to pull off, looking for some guidance.

Here's the one i just made. Mine's 47 so haven't tried it yet. Also note that it'll be keeping the amplifiers on so that's why defenses can stop at 40.

Hmm a pretty sound build but also using a lot of IOs that are low level, I know Kinetic is a go to but I hate slotting it in an a power I'm actually going to use. I might take that build and make some tweaks to it, stripping back some defense for more offense but thank you for posting it 😄

This is the build I've been running with.  It's an offensive juggernaut as that was the intention.  Kill things before the kill me.  But, even with that mentality, it's extremely survivable with the regen, heals, and KD mitigation.  I really enjoy playing this thing.

Great build, thanks ! I will be using this, slightly modified to my taste but 95% this one 🙂

Question guys. I was told that unless you're going to perma hasten with Titan Weapons that it wasn't worth taking in a build, is this true?

I'm not sure I read that, but the build I posted is about a second from perma hasten.  I put +5 boosters in the recharge IOs for Hasten.  Maybe if you were pretty far off, it could be debated, but I can't imagine skipping it entirely if it were 4 or 5 seconds off.  YMMV.

I'm a few seconds off on paper but actually perma-hasten with my offensive amplifier and the likelihood of the force feedback proccing a time or two over the duration of hasten. Really though I don't know that I couldn't get by without hasten altogether. At +3/8/bosses (I'm not level boosted yet) anything short of an EB is dead before I ever even get to use follow through, and that was true leveling when I didn't even have hasten.

Been taking a variant on the first build posted, dropped Hasten and Moonbeam, took some different pool powers. What do you guys think on these tweaks.

You could presumably cap melee fairly easily with a whack of defensive sweep. The problem is that unlike parry or divine avalanche or guarded spin, the devs for some reason known only to them decided to make defensive sweep melee/smashing instead of melee/lethal. Practically this means that all those ranged attacks that are lethal and debuff defense, i.e. tons of them, are hitting you full on and causing cascading defense failure. With basically no source of defense debuff resistance outside of ageless radial if you took it and your teammates, that can get bad fast. Now of course /bio has layered defenses so you're probably still going to cakewalk council no matter how many minions are pinging you from ranged with their rifles. But a couple of crabs at ranged adding to the bowl of pain arachnos already is can ruin your day.

As far as fighting pool, i wouldn't skip it, especially if you're planning on keeping offensive adaptation running.

That's disappointing to hear. I really dislike the concept of the Fighting Pool's tough and weave as much as I disliked Stamina on live, it wasn't really a choice.  Guess I'll continue to stick with non-melee classes as much as I like my tw/bio scrapper.

That's disappointing to hear. I really dislike the concept of the Fighting Pool's tough and weave as much as I disliked Stamina on live, it wasn't really a choice.  Guess I'll continue to stick with non-melee classes as much as I like my tw/bio scrapper.

You can choose to do without it, you just won't be as tough as you would be otherwise. I really don't understand you character concept folks but what kind of sword fighter wouldn't also learn some hand to hand stuff on the side? or do cardio for that matter?

What powers instead of Tough and Weave exactly do you need so badly that it gimps your concept to the point of not playing the character ? I find that in most builds I always have some free space so that getting the 3 fighting pool powers isn't even an issue. And thematically speaking being tougher and weaving around in combat is on theme, no ?

I think he more or less meant  these powers end up in most builds to a degree where it seems pointless to 'not' have them, so they should probably just be inherent like the fitness pool was made eventually.  It's such a integral building block in many cases it may as well be inherent.

I agree, that these power are mandatory for almost any melee char, but to say "screw all melee characters because I need to take these" is a smidge extreme

That's likely more because of many players wanting to be tough and self reliant, than relying on their team.
