There is my first try, but I'm  trying for a end build for TF missions and AVs.

A few things jump out at me. First, I am very curious as to why you would take the Mace Mastery for the Scorpion Shield and Focuses Accuracy. You have Farsight. I highly recommend looking into Soul Master or Power Mastery to take either Power Boost or Power Build Up. Combining PB/PBU with Farsight will give you a permanent 12.3% boost to the to-hit and defense of Farsight. If you are looking at end game, I also recommend the Clarion Radial Destiny power to stack with PB/PBU to make Farsight softcap your entire team (something like 50% defense to everybody and something similar with To-Hit). Farsight lasts for 120 seconds, so remember, that's permanent boosts as long as you stay on top of casting it. Also, by taking Soul or Power Mastery, you can get a Resistance armor that will further improve your survivability.

I would recommend not 3 slotting Hasten with recharge, you only need 2 slots. Same could go for Amplify. In fact, you should slot the Gaussian Proc into Amplify if you're gonna use 3 slots.

I highly recommend taking Screech. With it, you can optimize your -Resistance Debuff attack chain, which is important for solo (AV hunting) but more importantly it is huge in team settings. Also, if you're willing to invest in a Proc build, Screech not only offers up optimizing your -Resistance Debuff attack chain, it can also optimize your effective DPS attack chain. I wrote about it like 5-6 months ago, so I can try to link that info to you if you're interested.

Slowed Response is a fantastic power for Procs. I would recommend incorporating those.

It seems like your build is based on a budget. But if you're willing to spend, I have plenty of other suggestions to make, starting with getting the PvP IOs that gives you +3% defense and +5% resistance. Also, check out Reactive Defense for additional +3% (can scale up to 10%) resistance.

Surprised you didn't take Howl, that is your only non-nuke AoE attack that applies -Resistance debuffs.

Ok, I'll just leave it at that for now. If you'd like, I think I have buried somewhere a Time/Sonic theory crafted build that might give you some ideas. If interested, I'll post it.

  • Thanks 1

As noted, I have yet to play a Time and only once played a low level Sonic back around issue 18 maybe. When I built this, I kinda just looked-up other builds and guessed on what powers I needed by their builds. Influences-wise, I would like to keep the build in the $100 mil range if possible, since I have yet to get my farm brute to 50 lvl. This is mostly a team build, I didn't solo AVs that much in live and I doubt I would now.  Use to be a huge fan of ITF Saturday  afternoon runs, so likely that's where she would mostly be at once I get her up to that lvl.

Again, any advice or help would be welcome. As I said, I have years of experience playing defenders (dark, rad, empathy) but a noob to those two powers.

By end game, you want and can easily have perma Farsight and Chrono Shift. I will echo the sentiment for Power Boost or Power Build Up.

Power Boosted Farsight gives your whole team over 30% Defense. Due to this, you don't need an Epic defense based shield.

Time Crawl is handy to help defeat AVs as well as to boost your other Time debuffs. It would be nice to have Screech for the extra resist debuff, but I would take Time Crawl ahead of Screech, personally.

I'd likely choose Agility for my Alpha, although there are other good choices as well. Intuition, Musculature, and Spiritual all have high value.

Long term, I would target Apocalypse in Shriek, Vigilant Assault in Shockwave, 5 slot Armageddon in Wail and move the leftover slot to 6 Slot Defender's Bastion in Scream.

It would be nice to have both, but not sure if Time Crawl would have as much of an impact after factoring in an opponent's resistance. Typically (correct me if I'm wrong), you want -regeneration for the tough enemies who happen to heavily resist it, while not needing it for the weak enemies that dont resist it.

As for Screech, you can make attack chains with it that can reach 92-97% average resistance debuff, as opposed to the 76% you get with shriek-scream-shriek-shout (the optimal non-proc ST DPS attack chain)

Some good advise and builds here, shows me I really need to read-up on Sonic to decide about Screech and Time Crawl.

As a side not, I always felt that as a Defender in any TF group, this quote from Futurama kinda fit my style;

God Entity: "When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all."

New Defender here! I usually play melee DPS types but I'm wanting to make a high end Time/Sonic Defender inspired by a certain time-traveling physician. 🤪

I have no clue where to start on a build. Are the options above still a good starting point? Not sure what goals to effectively build towards.

Any advice or builds would be greatly appreciated. Influence is no object. I'm more than happy to submit a build but again, no clue what I'm doing yet! 😁

My version is more proc-heavy, I like the combo of lots of -resist + lots of procs . No need for Scorp shield or the Fighting pool really. PBed Farsight gets me capped to everything and Clarion + PBed Farsight gets me to ~incarnate caps. Going Soul also gives me the opportunity for a perma Fort pet which is free DPS and happily softcapped (and also benefits from the -resist I throw around).
