STJ/Bio any good?

Hey y'all,

 

I'm a casual player who usually plays ranged, but I decided to make a scrapper for something different. I'm really set on Street Justice and Bio Armor, both individually and as a combination for theme of my toon. But I've been trying to find builds on the forum and haven't had much luck in finding one, and I'm not very well versed in the sets to feel comfortable with trying to make my own. I'm okay with the build being expensive, and I'm willing to take tips if it feels like I'm begging someone else to do my work for me. I just want a good direction to take this toon and want to know if this combo is any good (knowing obviously almost everything in this game is viable).

I don't have hands-on experience with the pairing itself, but StJ and Bio are both solid. I know StJ/Bio is a very strong Stalker combo so it can't be much different for a Scrapper.

 

StJ (at least on my Stalker) was very end heavy so Bio's extra Recovery options will complement that well too. Go for it!

I have a StJ/Bio and love the character. Hits like a truck in single target. Fast animations on everything. Survivable enough if you're willing to pop Shadow Meld and use insps.

StJ has an unique spot in leveraging epic Moonbeam. With the combo system and Crushing Uppercut's 25s base recharge, an attack chain of Crushing Uppercut - Shin Breaker - Rib Cracker - Moonbeam - Shin Breaker - Rib Cracker fits just right.
 

I decided to skip AoE damage entirely, and just use Judgement for that. The damage aura still ends up killing minions fast enough for my liking while I work on bosses. YMMV.

For some performance metrics, this character can solo Apex, Tin Mage, +4/x8 against any faction with no insps if need be (just abuse Shadow Meld and take out problematic targets fast).

It's good, anything with /bio is, really.

 

That being said, with Street Justice in particular I would roll it as a stalker. It's a weird case where you don't sacrifice anything noteworthy, plus the rotation is a lot smoother due to how AS works for STJ.

It is better on a stalker.

 

But you do lose the awesome animation of rib cracker.  

 

If Assassins Blow could use the rib cracker anim, then Stalker Street Justice would be perfect.

Feeling like I need to give credit to were credit is due!

 

I searched all of the Scrapper posts for a StJ/Bio build and yours was the only one that I saw.

 

I have since created this character and I must say this character is a BOSS! +4/8 missions, with a less than 2 min pylon time is very fun. I did change out Shin Breaker for Spinning Strike, however.

Well, you do lose the damage aura. StJ is better on a stalker as it loses a ST for AS so that's a win. I haven't tried /bio on a stalker yet. I have a /bio already so I'll likely roll /invul for my next melee.

My StJ/Bio Scrapper is by far my best character. 

 

I managed to softcap him to all damage types if I use Agility T4, and using Musculature he is no lower than 43% to any type. He's built for survival first and foremost, as I'm a firm believer that live scrappers deal 100% more damage than dead ones. Bill Z and I duoed Kronos a while back and I could have tanked him indefinitely if I had to. 

 

He solos AVs with a little help from Enevenomed Daggers. He can do it without them if the AV doesn't have significant smashing resistance, but it just goes faster if I fling a dagger now and then. 

 

I actually skipped the tier 9 in Bio on his current build as I found I almost never used it. I haven't missed it so far. 

 

Sadly, I don't have a Mid's build to share with you, because a Mid's build does not exist for him. I built him as a personal challenge to make the best character I could by the seat of my pants in-game. 

 

So, in answer to your initial question: Yes, it's a good combo.
