Elec/Elec - Sentinel or Blaster?

I want to make a character with Electrical Blast, and the classic E3 Blaster seems like the obvious choice, but I'm starting to wonder if he might work better as a Sentinel.

If I recall correctly, the conventional wisdom is that the E3 is somewhat lacking in ST damage, but can drain a group's endurance as long as they can survive SC+PS.  Also, there's a hold in each of the Elecs, which seems very handy.  Fastsnipes are now a thing, but not consistently available to an E3.  At the end of the day, it may be a bit underpowered in ST performance, but it has some neat tricks and looks and feels awesome.  It can also be a bit dangerous, but one of main Blasters BITD was Fire/Fire/Fire, so I'm *very* familiar with the consequences of jumping into melee. :P

As a Sentinel, my blasts would be weaker... but I get Zapping Bolt (which seems amazing) over Zapp, and a version of Tesla Cage that does significant damage.  Zapping Bolt looks better than several other Sent "snipes" given its one-second activation time, and, while Fire/ already has Blaze and Eng/ has Power Burst, Elec/ doesn't have a T3 blast, so ZB can fill that role.  I don't know about any differences between the two ATs' version of VS.  From my secondary I get resist shields (though I doubt their usefulness), mez protection (I do not doubt its usefulness), and +20% recharge.  End-draining capacity seems intact, but I lose Build-Up and a second Hold.  I also lose the punches, but having an Elec melee character already, I'm not particularly married to the blaps.

I wonder whether, while other blast sets are weaker on Sentinel, Elec/ might actually be *stronger* on a Sentinel.  Even if that isn't the case, surely Elec/ loses less than most.  I'm happy to play an E3B, but the case for an E3S seems awfully compelling.  From the Sentinel point of view, is there anything I'm overlooking?

One thing to keep in mind is the fast-snipe changes. While getting permanent fast-snipe is difficult on a Blaster outside of Devices (you need to over-slot Tactics plus get a Kismet IO) you can potentially do so which allows you to use Zapp as part of a standard single target attack chain which helps to alleviate those problems with Electrical Blast.

Yeah, when I mentioned fastsnipes earlier, I had forgotten that Blaster Tactics was boosted from 7% to 10%, so I thought that Zapp would only be fast when I had Aim up.  A Kismet in CJ and a well-slotted Tactics were already going to be in my E3B build, so with a slightly different slotting I'll indeed have a zippy Zapp.

Sentinel's still compelling due to Tesla Cage, Static Shield, and Lightning Reflexes, but definitely less so if Zapping Bolt isn't such a big deal.

I would definitely go with Sentinel, with a build like this in mind, an Elec/EA/Elec.  For a Sapper it's great!

Played a triple E blaster to 50 back in the day. It's a very effective build. Played as a blaptroller, and face rolled most bosses.  I'll probably do it again. Thinking DP/SR for Sentinel.

You wouldn't happen to have a Build you could share? Just as a starting point...

That incident involving a nuclear accelerator and a banana… You know… I REALLY don't wanna talk about it!

They haven't been on in 2+ months. It would be better to ask/search in the Blaster forums if you are asking about the Elec/elec.
