Best primary for a bio armour sentinel?

To be honest with you, going with the psi mastery epic pool, using damage procs in Dominate and using Mind Probe should leave you in a decent spot as far as single target damage goes. Have you considered Beam Rifle by any chance? I tested a Beam/Bio Sentinel that killed a pylon in 2:13, for 416.11 DPS. Water Blast is a great choice for AOE as well, due to the AOE's with large target caps.

Here is the beam build I used for that, perhaps it will give you some ideas. 🙂

I'm quite fond of beam rifle. It is nice on single target and AOE, and honestly the whole disintegrate spread mechanic amuses me far more than it should. Sure, it's not a whole lot of damage (shooting a disintegrating target gives a decent damage boost though), but watching it spread over a crowd is just rather cool to watch.

Currently my favorite sentinel is my BR/Bio one.

I actually don't do the psi pool on that one, which is uncommon as I usually do, but damage is still good enough for me (but then I don't hunt pylons).

The DPS on beam is actually pretty sneaky good, due to the -regen and -res built into the attacks.

You'll notice I softcapped the energy defense on the Beam build because the set has no resistance to speak of to the 3rd most common damage type in the game.. Certainly not ideal. I'm not a fan of bio armor generally speaking because it has zilch in the energy resistance department, so a few lucky shots through your defense and there's the possibility of getting stomped.

On a Sentinel I find it's more palatable because you're not typically subjected to as much aggro as melee AT's, and Sentinel's damage is so anemic that offensive adaptation is a difference maker. The -regen from Parasitic also stacks with the -regen from disintegrate so there is some synergy there.

With the addition of the new sets would you have any recommendations to add / swap any ?

What new sets?  I haven't noticed any new sets for Sentinels?

@Rathstar

Energy/Energy Blaster (50+3) on Everlasting

Energy/Temporal Blaster (50+3) on Excelsior

Energy/Willpower Sentinel (50+3) on Indomitable

Energy/Energy Sentinel (50+1) on Torchbearer

They added a few new IO sets. Only one has a damage proc, and it's for Targeted AOEs. So if you were running a ability that was 1 proc short of being a proc monster, it's there now.

Yeah I mainly meant for stat wise, I’m running the beam/ bio with hover so I’d probably benefit from more ranges defence over the current higher melee defence but I’ve had a play around on pines and I can’t seem to do it without ruining everything else 😕

Well they added 2 TAOE sets and 3 End Mod Sets. 1 End mod set is a 6-slot 3.75% Ranged Defense bonus, and 1 of the TAOE sets has 0.94% (3-piece) + 3.13% (6-piece) ranged defense.

Any idea when pines will be updated with these sets so I can try and work out a better build for ranged defence without getting the numbers lost in my head 😂

Water Blast is a great choice for AOE as well, due to the AOE's with large target caps.

Here is the beam build I used for that, perhaps it will give you some ideas. 🙂

Also- Here's a Water/Bio build I threw together but never got around to testing. This should perform pretty well against ST's while also having pretty substantial AOE.

You made any changes since the new enhancements ? I run the same build but with hover so the higher melee is kinda useless for me,  can you see a way to change the build to adjustt for higher ranged defence vs melee without gimping the whole build as a whole ?

So what there is is an update to the database in the utilities board. You can drop that file into the pines folder and it has the new electric set and the new IOs. It's pinned at the top, easy to find. I believe in you.

Cheers I’ll see

For a blasty all-about-the-damage character, I'd stick with Fire myself.

That said, my own /Bio was built with something else in mind and is Dark/Bio/Dark. I off-tank with Tavaris. He's not much of a damage-dealer, so clearing a map solo is slower than proverbial Christmas... But there's very little goons can do to stop him. I joke that being in his way is basically like being caught in the path a glacier. XD

Taker of screenshots. Player of creepy Oranbegans and Rularuu bird-things.

Is this water bio up to date ? Or is this one still good to go. I played the beam/bio one for ages, (swapped jump for hover and max flight speed with offensive adaption and steam/ prestige boost)

So I tested fire/bio water/bio and beam/bio all to lv 50 with 2/3 incarnates maxed.

beam<fire<water

in terms of damage.

beam and water have the ‘fun’ mechanics.

fire is nice yet the lack of extra effects is noticeable.

beams -resistance combined with bio’s and offensive adaption is actually really nice.

the air damage is actually sufficient enough to wipe all minions out, bosses fall quickly with the PSI mastery pool with proc loadouts.
