  2. I think the best thing to do is for you to get a good 1:1 comparison against your favorite set. It is super easy in Mid's Reborn. In the Mid's app go to the "Windows" tab and hit "Power Comparison" Then you can compare any primary or secondary from any different or same AT to one another in terms of damage, healing, debuf...etc.
  3. Personally, after leveling and into endgame I find the pets underwelming. I like the idea of procs in the pet, but since I typically spec xxx/fire/fire I out damage the pet by so much that it doesn't matter. Currently I am enjoying my symphony as a hover ranged toon. When perma, primaries come up quickly and the broad cones are easy to use, a relaxing playstyle when that's what I am in the mood for.
  4. I started some dom's because I never played them before and there were two things that finally hit me 1. With the right primary and perma dom active you can literally render just about any map "controlled" 2. Once you do that if you couple it with the fire secondary and epic power sets, you flat out damage most other AT builds. I personally find that if you hold the entire map then the secondary effects of your secondary powers don't do much to change any outcomes and fire secondaries and epics do a tone of singlle target and AOE damage.
  5. Ignore with whatever anybody says is best, even me. I have leveled just about every dom primary and used several of the secondaries. The most fun toon I have every played is my fire/fire/fire dom, with permadom, played like a blapper and it is great at endgame. You hold/disorient/knockdown everything then you choose how to level everything else with an arsenal of single target, AOE and PBAOE top level damage. When the team/enemy requires you can easily stay at range and still be very effective as most of your primaries are at range/targeted AOEs. I think the only trouble with dom's as they areen't the easiest to level and you really need to invest in IOs.
  6. " using the newest version of MID's it now contains multiple databases for multiple versions of City of Heroes and defaults to a generic database that does not contain all of the IOs/Power that Homecoming uses" THATS IT!!! I would have never figured that out. Thanks so much!
  7. Sorry If this is the wrong section, but I cannot find any info. After the Mid's versino that changed its icon. I notice that all of my builds are missing IOs in many powers/slots? I'm not sure what powers were unslotted. Any thoughts?
  8. This is an all fire build that may help you. I tend to focus on permadom without hasten as it is my most favorite way to play the game. 9. All of my favorite DOMs are perma and I agree it tends to be more fun when I am not worrying about clicking hasten. Also, when you have super high recharge your essential dom powers are up faster and stuff can't attack you. I like fire as the Epic as it has some nice AOEs to burn things down once they are held. Sorry in advance but I can never seem to get mids to post nicely in the forum. 10. I had a friend who died all the time and it hit me...I can save her with perma-lockdown. Once she realized she would always be safe, she then started to run ahead...making me chase :)
  11. So much also gets down to how good you are at the game/powerset/AT. I've seen people with so many different power combinations and ATs all kick ass. IMO the biggest learning curve is /Bio. I really use it only on Stalkers and Sentys, because I like the +25% damage boost that helps those toons out. Why don't I use /Bio for a great defensive mechanism...because whenever I analyze it in Mids it always looks kinda "Meh"...but mostly because "I" suck at playing it not because of the set itself. I NEEDE A /BIO Mentor!!!!! So if anybody can point me to a good thread on how to play it I'm perfectly willing to give it another try. Also one more question. Since Brutes fury can jack up your damage bonus, does the 25% /Bio bonus make a noticable difference in PVE team gameplay? Thanks in advance!
  12. Totally agree with Snarky. Dark/Dark is very tough to kill for the reasons he/she said. Many layers of protection, Res, Def, Great heal, 2 Mez -only need one but I use 2 on tank. WIth that being said I like my Dark/Dark tank even more. x/ele is by far my second favorite all rounder. This is not a complaint to Snarky but...perople we have the best community in gaming. When we talk about what is bes please SHARE the love and show those builds 🙂 - notr claiming mine are the beast at all but these work well for my playstyle. After being on homecomming since it started I still cant figure out how to export the entire build and mak it look all nice and formattred so I leave you wityh the link form. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1440&c=647&a=1294&f=HEX&dc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
  13. DreadShenobi "Attune all your IOs and grab the recharge base buff +20% whenever you exemp to lower level on dom. 5 purple sets and 5 attuned lotg recharge and sg base buff = 107.75% global recharge at lvl 25. Attuned Basilisk's gaze in an aoe hold is another 7.5% recharge that exemps to lvl 10. Preventive Meds 8.75% recharge and Positron's blast 6.75% recharge also exemps to lvl 20. These are all easy to fit in, provided you have the catalysts to attune your IOs." That really helped I can now permadom down to level 19. I've also heard there is a recharge temp power I can get too.
  14. Where can I find an upgraded Mid's to start fooling with it. Is it available yet for i27?
  15. Thanks all for the replies! This really helps put into perspective. I'm going to go back and try more /Bio Thanks!

    Brute Build List

PSI Resistant AOE Brute targeted at harder content villains not just numbers Electric/Electric/Mu Brute What makes my build different from some of the others is that I sacrifice some misc resistance to really ramp up my Psi resist, making it easy to go after Carnies psi-Arachnos and Rikti as well as Pretorian psi and ele damage dealers. With lots of S/L/E/Psi toughness it makes it easy some of the harder villains. Big Toxic hole, but I only come across those in Tinpex (I think the Tin Mage Part) and I can't remember the last time I died in one of those. THe end building power of /ele allows me to skip Ageless and take Barrier which is the best Oh sh*t power in the game. Couple this with the self heal and it is rock solid AOE fun 😄 Def Mele 45.7% Def S/L over 43% Res S/L 78% Res Energy 90% Res NegE 55% Res C/F 70% Toxic 35% Res Psi 87% I can never how to properly export my build so it all looks nice on the screen, but the link below should work/ http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1455&c=670&a=1340&f=HEX&dc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
  17. Fire/Ele Well we all know why we like fire. I have never been a fan of bio as I don't feel it's tanky enough for sent/blasty/brutey. If you want the 25% offense go run a blaster as you can IO slot it better. I love /ele on senty/brutey. I can cap ranged def and get all but toxic near the cap. It has an end drain so I can skip ageless and pick barrier. Between the def/res and barrier there is no reason one should ever die. I do like fire/rad too as it is pretty tanky.
  18. Thanks a ton! Gonna also check out energy!
  19. I realize there are clickies involved and the like... But even in Mids I can never come up with a build that seems as all around solid as /rad or / atomic or whatever its called...unno the radioactive shield stuff😄 My very first 50 on homecoming was a fire / bio senty. He has all of his accolades and T4s but is sitting around unslotted as I gave up on him after I put together a fire/fire blaster build that I liked. I have also played around with /bio on stalkers because I love the offensive stance damage bonus. Now that I have just about every blaster primary and secondary I am getting back into sentinels. I would love to just pick back up on my fire/bio and re-IO him and play him properly rather than grind all the way back up with a different power set. But after playing around in Mids (that is not the same as real life playing) /rad seems tankier by staring at the stats alone. I will likely build a capped range with some solid all around resist. Thanks in advance for your comments
  20. I know a lot of people love it and I do love the offensive stance damage boost. But, when I look on Mids and in my combat attributes window I just don't see it as a great set. Its hard to compare to some other sets since it has some click powers for absorb/regen. Maybe I'm just playing it wrong. Thoughts?
  21. What secondary would you choose for Psi mitigation def and/or res? For example I want to be able to trash carnies and arachnose psi demage dealers 😄 On my brutes it is electric armor because its easy to cap s/l/e/psi resist and get some good positional and s/l defense. Thoughts?
  22. As per the direct ask. I feel strongly that I would like to see the largest damage boost of 1.125. I would like to see opportunity completely reworked., Personally if you give me a good damage boost I wouldn't mind if it was gotten rid of. I love the overall concept of Sentys, but I don't play them because with a good build on a blaster I can cap or come close to capping all defenses and get enough s/l or S/l/e defense while majorly outperforming Sentys on damage. Therefore I stopped playing them over a year ago. Basically if you give me a tankier blaster that has to stay at range, that would be a lot of fun.
  23. I'm late to this thread but... I am always surprised how little love fire/ and /fire gets. I have about 7 fully speced doms and fire/fire/fire is my favorite by far. I usually lead teams so I like to have my permadom not dependant on hasten or ageless and I always prefer barrier over ageless for those times you may need it. Bonfire is slotted with KB to KD. I usually run ranged def around 35% because thats usually the best i can get when slotting for recharge. My dark doms can get it up around the low 40s% I have every weapon a fire blaster has for all but the nuke and my damage multiplier is still good. I feel that it competes with every blaster but a fire blaster. for overall damage. Depending on the group I can focus on holding or just blast away. I have both a blapper (uses combustion/burn,hotfeet) and hover (stays at range and adds in fire breath (needs a range boost IO) instead of any melee) build that both work well. It may take a little while, but I frequently run off to see what I can do and there is enough holding and overall AOE to kill +4/8 groups without fear of getting killed. Mind/fire/fire also performs well IMO.
  24. To me, when I'm not permadomming, being a dom is not fun at all and you don't really contribute to the team. With that being said, it is worth the time and money to slot your dom to be perma 100% of the time...very rewarding playstyle. I prefer to go overboard to have dom without hasten or ageless turned on, as I like to run teams and when I recruit i routinely miss the "click" window. My only complaint that when endgaming if you want to SK down to just run with friends on lower level TFs you lose all of those bonuses that keep you perma. Usually for me it is anything below the mid-40s that breaks my perma. Perhaps you increase all of your Primary power magnitudes to dom level and get rid of the Dom endurance buff. Therefore you get all of the hold power but you need to slot other things for endurance and recharge. I'm squishy, I find most of the melee powers in the secondary set to be useless. Almost forgot...I would love to have the Nuke missing from the secondary power set.
  25. That worked Click the Options button in Tequila and check the Launch Parameters box. Make sure it's empty, it looks like you somehow got a '[' bracket in it. Thanks for the quick reply!!!!
