So i saw a thread that someone mentioned about the forms of both Bio armor and staff fighting does anyone have experience with this does it make a big difference in the characters abilities?  i mean can you run damage on one and endurance on the other or get more damage running both as damage it really could have some potential here.

I have a lvl 50 bio/staff tank basically you can adjust your forms and never run out of endurance, or do more damage, or be more resilient. You get 1 of each at the same time, and their effects aren't mutually exclusive so it works really well.

I've got a staff/bio scrapper. Or maybe she's a brute. Either way, she runs with both +dam forms and it works great.

@Yomo Kimyata - liking the look of this build!

 

I recently reached 50 with my staff/bio brute and went Leviathan for thematic reasons, but I see you make good use of the Artic Breath debuffs. I'm looking to start investing in some enhancement sets, and this looks right up my ally.

 

A few questions though...

  • no slotting in health or stamina - that works?
  • hasten is two slotted because of the IOs?
  • do you miss mercurial blow as a fast attack? 
  • do you actually ever use kick or spirit shark to trigger the force feedbacks?
  • how survivable is this build?
  • have you tweaked it since it was shared?

Lemme answer your questions in reverse order, since there are indeed some changes I would make to it today.

 

*  The main changes I would make today is to make sure to put a Theft of Essence +end proc in DNA Siphon and Parasitic Aura, and to swap sets and put Panacea in Parasitic Aura and Preventative Medicine in Ablative Carapace.  Some other rejigging, and I would do something like this (still a W.I.P.)  Slots are harder to find, so I cut back Arctic Breath to a debuff mechanism.

* Quite survivable.  North of 40 melee defense even without the Guarded Spin bonus (which puts you in the mid 50s I think.)  Good (not exceptional) resistances in offensive mode.  Two heals that are generally up every 30-40 seconds.

 

* Not really, I use those as place holders.  Although if I am closing in on melee I might use spirit shark.  But you can definitely leave those empty if you wish.

 

* Nope, don't miss it at all.  I've only used it on a tanker, and then I would add an Achilles Heel on the off chance that it would trigger.  This is primarily an AoE build, and with so much recharge one or more of your aoE attacks is pretty much available all the time.

 

* Yes, those two slots are supposed to be boosted to +5.  I never bother to fill that in in Mids.  With so many +recharge procs, you will easily be perma hasten.

 

* I've never had a blue bar problem.  With the Theft of Essence procs, both DNA siphon and Parasitic Aura are blue bar fillers so long as you have a few enemies near.  It's been awhile since I fought AVs with this build, so there is a chance that you might need blue inspirations for long fights against a single target.

Thanks for this! I took a run at a build based on this and another I found and am loving it.

 

Love the Force feedback proc idea. 

 

Some of my changes

  • I ended up without an Epic PP and just SS and SJ so I could get more slots.
  • I did take Spring Attack for fun, a slight splash of Knockdown crowd control, and for just one more Force Feedback that actually does trigger occasionally. 
  • I couldn't fund the whole thing yet, but looking among the unbuilt recipes from other toons I ended up with three each of Panacea and Preventative for now - both sets in Ablative
  • I am using Touch of the Nictus for the Accuracy on DNA and Parasitic

 

It's been loads of fun. 

 

Also - was it you who did the TO contest recently? If so - it was that that helped fund me as I leveled a new toon!
