Procs, plus something that has Recharge in it. Since slotting directly for damage doesn't do much, that usually means Acc/Hold/Recharge from Hold sets. That usually leaves about 4 slots for procs, and there are nice options, between Lockdown's +2 Mag, Annihilation's -Res, and of course straight damage procs.

I use mine to mule basilisk's gaze for the recharge proc, which is what I do with most AOE holds.  If you stack recharge for a permadom build and add in an ancillary source of +to hit (buildup, tactics, etc.) it fires decently enough and comes back often enough for those 3x spawn or oops-2x spawn scenarios.  I also usually put the lockdown +2 mag proc in aoe holds but my earth/elec didn't have the spare slot.

I've never been fond of it being a location AOE - while a location AOE has its tricks it is difficult to fire quickly and that really hampers its usefulness in my eyes.  I believe it is possible to set a macro to cause it to fire at your feet, which can help in an emergency.

Basilisk Gaze because I'm pretty sure we have an assault set for damage so putting procs into holds dosn't make sense to me.

I'd prefer the hold time so i can bash on stuff 🙂

If I'm interpreting this correctly, the damage is direct while the holds are via six pseudo pets (only showing one below). Do the Targeted AOE set procs have a chance to fire more than once? Do the hold set procs only have a chance to fire when each pseudo pet is summoned? (Note, I changed the display to show lvl 50 numbers, but the character is only lvl 28.)

Use the "powexeclocation" command. (/powexeclocation <location> <location_power>). <location> can be "self" to cast it centered on the player, "target" to cast it at the feet of a mob, or "X:Y" where X is direction (0 being in front of the character) and Y is the distance in feet. Y=max will set it to the maximum possible distance away from the character.

I'm not familiar with Volcanic Gasses, but I have only found a few limited instances where slotting proc(s) into holds was a better choice than just trying to improve Global +Recharge via set bonuses.

I personally use Basilisk Gaze, I am all for procs but this power takes too long to recharge for the procs, although having greater firing chance, to be noticeable.

Being chased by a wasp is the most complete sport practice!

Brutes have an entire primary devoted to damage -- but here we are, with Fiery Embrace/Burn chugging along... 🙂
