Beta Decay and Procs

I'm looking at a build for my Radiation Tank and I've noticed that there are quite a few procs that can be placed in Beta Decay. How good do they work and is it worth slotting any of them? Specifically things like Achilles's Heel -res and Touch of Lady Grey damage proc. Any ideas? Thanks!

If you have the extra slots, it's fine to add procs to it. Every 10s you're looking at a 30.7% chance to proc. For a damage proc, that equates to an average of 71.75x0.307 = 22.03 damage per proc per target per 10 seconds. So it turns your Beta Decay into a damage aura that does 2.2 DPS per damage proc in the power.

The resistance debuff also has a 30.7% chance of procing every 10s for a 20% resistamce debuff, so you average 6.14% resistance debuff. That probably has more viability for your character than what a 2.2 DPS has to offer. But either way, procs will offer you random burst damage which can be very nice when it happens.

I didn't see and damage procs that would go into Beta Decay.

It's your taunt aura, but you cant slot taunt sets into it.

You have DefDbf, Acc DefDeb, THDbf and AccTHDbf sets available.

I think the chance for +to Hit ones are pretty much worthless.

Achilles Heel is good, and maybe the Chance for Recharge slow.

Just slot it up well for to hit debuff, its the same as giving you some defense never bad on a resistance based tank.

  • Victory: reserved for future use
  • Indom: Schtick, Pummel Pete, Plymouth, Pilkington
  • Reunion: Ghost Legacy, 7s7e7v7e7n7, Mind Funk, Bluto
  • Excelsior: Phrendon Largo, Fred Bumbler, John van der Waals,Allamedia Jones, Tzapt, Sn1pe
  • Torchbearer: Phrendon Largo, Kenny Letter,  Bewm, La Merle, Enflambe', Rock Largo, Bulk of the Weather, Retired Phrendon
  • Everlasting: Phrendon Largo, Krown, Buzz Words, Bicycle Repairman, Dee Fender, Carmela Soprano, Radmental Boy, Beet Salad, Sporanghi,Sue Ahn Cuddy, Fukushima Technician, Snow Globe Girl, Thug Therapist, Apple Brown Betty

Touch of Lady Gray and Shield Breaker are damage procs.

Self Buffs in AoEs are nice, so I would not discredit the +To Hit buff. It only needs to proc off one enemy to give you the buff. However, it's probably more of a leveling up proc as once you reach end game you can slot for global accuracy and to-hit to achieve 95% probability to hit on most enemies.

That's amazingly helpful! Thanks Bopper. I will more than likely go To-Hit debuff with a single achilles' at the end. Appreciate the help and the hard numbers.

@Bopper:

From what I understand,  it's 30% chance to proc ONCE every 10 seconds. Once, divided by (I believe) by the target cap of the power. In a 5 person cone, That means you will average an extra 12 points or so per target.....low, but on a low or no damage cone it is probably worth it. Once in a 16 person spawn means an average damage bonus of about 5-6 points per target... totally not worth a slot.
self buffs, though... although the proc chances are still divided, they are still better than a single target (fast) attack. and something like a heal going off once every 20 seconds for 12% of your HP that you do NOT have to click, makes it a valuable addition to your build.

Someone is welcome to correct me if they think I am wrong, but if you want to test it, slot a chance for immob and take it into a fight... you will occasionally get one or maybe two targets that get hit by it, but it is a far stretch from a valuable or even noticeable addition to any fight.

Max targets does not play a role. Each target in the radius of Beta Decay will have the same 30% chance to be inflicted with the resistance debuff proc.

right, so the reason that those procs NEVER seem to activate would be...?

Not sure why for you. Show me your build and I'll tell you.
