Shock Star
I'm attempting to make this Sentinel as nasty as possible in both PvE and PvP. So far, power sink > short circuit seems to make quick work of any enemy I encounter save for giant monsters. My current build is nasty enough and I also have the Eye of the Magus accolaide. My main question is... Should I replace Afterburner with Power Surge? Or does Eye of the Magus already make up for not having Power Surge in my build? CaptTastic
I don’t miss power surge on my Elec*3 at all. With capped S/L/E/F/C resist, 60% Psi resist, 24-30% positional defences, and the Regen buff from perma-Energise, it’s got plenty of layered survivability - and that’s before you take their endurance
Shock Star
Yeah... I did use your build as a base. The main reason I put power sink back in is because the end drain on it is absurd when coupled with the Preemptive Core Flawless Interface(i.e. Using Power Sink and following up with Short Circuit is an end drain nightmare for practically anything EB and below). I also decided to add Power Surge for those really tough boss fights or opponents who rely on Toxic damage. Sorry about that. I was new to making lv 50 builds at the time and ended up liking what yours had to offer. EDIT: I forgot to mention the stun I added to it with Energy Manipulator. That one helps make Power Sink a little more dangerous. Edited July 12, 2020 by Shock Star
CaptTastic
One major trick you’re missing is not proccing out Tesla Cage. I have one Acc/Dam then five damage procs (two of them purple) in mine and it turns it into an absolute beast of a ST attack. Have to say my Elec/Elec Sentinel is my favourite ever character because he’s so versatile. He has: Good damage, good control, great in the middle of the mob but easily able to hover-blast too, and survivability that puts many scrappers to shame. There is literally no situation he can’t adapt to or contribute to. Feel free to message me on Discord or on here and I’ll happily share my build with you if you’d like. Shock Star
After messing with a few things, I took the winter set out of short circuit and replaced it with power transfer. And added that set's healing procs to three of my other powers. Edited July 13, 2020 by Shock Star

Six-Six
I, too, have an Elec/Elec/Elec Sent. I've built her on the cheap, with the most expensive IOs being two PVP IOs (Panacea and Fury of the Gladiator +res) no ATOs even. I play her like a psuedo tank, since she can take it, and she's only moderately built for def/res. Lightning Field from Elec Mastery handles the taunt, then close quarters mini-nuke of Short Circuit and Power Sink. I rarely use Thunderblast since it animates slow, but if the mob is nicely packed, I sometimes open with it. Voltaic Sentinel is minimally slotted with just a pair of Blood Mandate IOs. It's untargetable, so it helps with stragglers. The thing I found most helpful with her build is the Energy Manipulator +chance to stun in most of her attacks and auras. I didn't build her for end draining enemies, instead going in, stunning, then killing them while they're helpless. I think my strongest attack aside for Thunderblast is the Havoc punch and the AoEs. T1 and T2 attacks have moderate damage, but their recharge is so fast, they end up dishing out a lot, that plus the stun. I was on the fence about taking Mu Mastery which has bigger damage instead of Elec Mastery, but the aura (which is slotted for +end, heal, +res, dmg and + stun... and is always on) is what made me make up my mind. Very enjoyable. Easily one of my fave toons. My Toons

oedipus_tex
I'm wondering if someone can contrast Elec/Elec/Elec with Elec/Energy Aura/Elec. I have one of the latter at 40, he's incredibly survivable. But as I'm looking to IOs and powers like Unleash Potential to combo with, the benefits of a Resist armor are tempting. Any thoughts on the differences?

Any thoughts on the differences? I need to mess with energy a little more. My build for my elec/elec sent relies heavily on end drain. Sadly, toxic damage is the bane of his existence. He does fairly decent against psionic and negative energy, though his main resistances are his energy, smash, lethal, fire, and cold.
