I have one of these at 50 named Iceberg Salad.

Anyway, this is a very low damage support character. Emphasis on low damage.

On the positive side, Arctic Air combined with Entangling Aura is cool looking.

I don't play him too much. I feel like a damage leech. The buffs from Nature are good tho, and I can pretty much count on being the only Ice/Nature around.

Greetings all!

What's everyone's opinion about this combo? I played Ice Control very little on Live, and have never played Nature. Just wondering what to expect out of it.

 Thanks!

If you're not sold on this combo being a controller (as ice control is not real great in the current game), this combo is quite fun as either an Ice/Nature Corruptor or Nature/Ice Defender. I went corruptor on mine for scourging rains, but I imagine the defender version is just as fun.

I primarily play on Everlasting, but you may occasionally find me on Indom. 🙂

Notable Characters: Apocolyptica - Demons/Storm MM; Lurking Monster - Human-Form WS; Environmentabot - Bots/Nature MM; Miss Fade - Ill/Traps Controller; Sister Apocalypse - Beast/Dark MM; Dr. Elaina Wrath - Plant/Rad Controller (Join the House of Wrath, and spread the word of science!); Ruff Ruff Boom - AR/Devices Blaster

Expect to have pleeeeeeeeeeenty of time to enjoy the scenery in missions. Plenty. As in, this is going to be a safe, but slow combo.

I’m leveling an ice/NA right now and loving it. I play exclusively on teams and took Arcane Bolt so my damage isn’t as anemic. Entangling Aura is a godsend that pairs very well with Arctic Air and somewhat makes up for ice’s relatively weak control.

I plan on building for perma-Overgrowth so the massive damage buff compensates for my lack of. I’m taking all the powers in NA as I level but I think I will respec out of Regrowth. I only ever have to use it when I go too ham, but I’ll be taking Hibernate so that won’t be an issue at endgame. May also skip Spore Cloud as it takes a second to set up and only feels useful in longer fights. Living Spores isn’t great either but throwing a Performance Shifter proc in there has helped a LOT with my end issues.

From Ice I skipped Chilblain, Shiver and Jack Frost (since I literally never solo). Flash Freeze isn’t great but it’s nice to have for emergencies and I loaded it with procs so its a serviceable nuke.

I have a tentative build drawn up with hefty recharge and something like 38% S/L defense. I’ll post it when I’m back at my computer.

Here is the build, it will probably undergo a few changes once I've played it at 50 but I'm pretty happy with the 44.9% S/L defense and 141% +recharge.

I like NA a lot but - and this is kind of a perk - half the powers are so situational I don't need to fully slot them. I almost never use Regrowth and prefer to use Rebirth as an emergency heal. Wild Bastion would probably be fine with 2-3 slots as well but I wanted the recharge from DW.

While leveling SC will have utility (and looks cool) but as you progress in the game the debuffs are less effective and desirable.

While it's true that Spore Cloud isn't the best, and since it's main debuffs are both to enemies' offenses it's less valuable to a Controller because you can just stop the enemy from attacking in the first place, Spore Cloud still has its uses. It's Nature's only source of -Regen, and -Damage is one of the only debuffs that AVs don't resist almost to nothing just for being AVs. Spore Cloud is a full 1/3rd of Nature's damage mitigation potential.
