You Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 I have at the moment on 191.25% global recharge bonus. There are still rooms for two more sets of purples. Since I have 3 FF +recharge proc and can keep them up rather frequently, meaning at the moment I am on 291.25% almost all the time. Most of the attack powers are around 80% recharge time, which I may use a few boosters to bring up the % more. So eventually adding to my current global recharge bonus, my main powers are close to the cap recharge. Does it worth to get those purples? Or just get 1 set keeping to my global bonus to around 200%? After all, I can get to almost cap recharge by myself already: 200% global bonus + constant FF proc + 80-90% on individual power. Any thoughts? Thanks!
FoulVileTerror Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 What's the longest cooldown of any of your powers? What's the average? If you're shaving off 30 seconds from a Tier 9 that you use all the time, hey! That's not bad. If all you're doing is shaving 0.3 seconds off a bunch of quick-cast Powers . . . eeeehhh . . . 3
Doomguide2005 Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 It all comes down to build goals. What are you looking to do with that recharge? Gapless attack chain, perma-(power choice), other? Have those goals been met? What would you be giving up to get there (defense/resists, mez protection, etc.)? What AT and sets are you?
Outrider_01 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 2 slot hasten boosted +5 and about 180%hasten gives you Perma hasten at just under 120 sec recharge for 120 duration, no Incarnate. After that, all my mids builds show insignificant jumps of recharge unless you use incarnate, which can drop hasten to like 105 recharge. Or 1 slot hasten, about 160% recharge and Ageless gives 130 Hasten recharge to just under 120 and its perma while Incarnate is up. I am not Arcanaville or Luminary and definitely not a number cruncher but you are getting insignificant bonues to recharge that may shave a few seconds off stuff. Might want to see if there is something else you can get, another bonus. 2 "Farming is just more fun in my opinion, beating up hordes of angry cosplayers...." - Coyotedancer

Sometimes the extra 10% is really not contributing (unless you are slowed, I suppose?) There are really only a couple of cases where I'll pursue maximum recharge with almost no concern for other possibilities: 1) Perma-something. Domination is the ur-example. There are some other power-set specific choices (e.g. Mind Link) but I'm not sure that I'm routinely challenging my characters in such a way that demands powers be constantly on. 2) Nukes, and other "long"-recharge powers (e.g. Recharge Intensive Pets, Unrelenting, click powers that take the Gaussian's %Build Up). For the nukes, shaving more than a couple of seconds can improve speed, but I find that it depends on attack chains and things that contribute to it (like Build Up). I have found that for my Crabbermind, I want Recharge Intensive Pets available as soon as they (naturally) expire... The higher tiers require LOTS of recharge to make that possible. With enough recharge, Unrelenting becomes a self-buff as well as an occasional self-heal. I should note that I generally chase set bonuses, and I see the big Accuracy bonuses from Purple sets as being pretty useful, such that even if I don't need the 5-piece +Recharge bonus I will try to keep a 4-piece Accuracy bonus. I think this is true: If you are specifically chasing %procs for inherently medium slow-recharge attacks, you will probably want both global +Recharge and global +Accuracy to make such attacks part of a regular attack chain.

Yup. Followup needs 313% total recharge for the followup, focus, slash, repeat chain. I don't think I've ever hit it but but I'm close enough forthat lovely triple-stack of FU on Focus. Really helps claws' damage overall.
DSorrow Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 What's your endgame? Recharge for the sake of recharge isn't worth it, but going for more recharge to enable a better attack chain, get a perma buff or something else could very well be.
