New Stalker: KM/Nin or KM/SR?

Timeshadow

Recommended Posts

So I'm looking to build a Stalker but I've got a few questions.  I'm hoping those of you who've mastered the shadows (😎) can help me out.

My experience with Stalkers is pretty limited.  I took an Elec/Nin up to 50 way back in the day but I haven't really messed with the AT since.  I definitely wanna do Kinetic as my primary but I'm torn between Ninjitsu and SR.  From what I understand, SR's big advantages are the scaling Resist and better DDR whereas Nin has a few more tools with its heal and Blinding Powder.  I'm not looking to solo any AVs or get crazy pylon times.  I just want something that'll let me survive while I stealthily eliminate hard targets.

Also, I've read that Kin's best ST chain is basically Quick Strike -> Body Blow -> Smashing Blow -> AS, with Focused Burst and Concentrated Strike being unnecessary.  Is that right or should I expect to take them?

You wanna play Peacebringer?😒  Fine, but at least check out this guide first: Peacebringers STILL SUCK!!! (v. 1.1)

So, from looking at the numbers in mids it seems like concentrated strike is unnecessary, but you could construct a constant build up ST chain with it. For example build up>body blow>smashing blow>assassin's strike>concentrated strike>build up.  Continuing that chain would have 2x build ups and the gaussian proc, that should beat out the more traditional chain. You'd need a lot of recharge to do it, but it can be done while proccing out AS. This should work, but I haven't tested it.

For Kinetic Melee on Stalkers i have some important information for you. These are 4 Topics:

  1. Attack Chain: You use the first 3 Attacks, then Assassin Strike. This is all you need and it is the highest dps Attack chain you can have on KM. Just make sure to use 1-2 Damage procs on each attack. AS Included. This Attack chain is very good and you will have it on very low levels, making the leveling a good experience.
  2. Burst has 100% chance to crit from Hide. No idea why it is like that, but abuse the fact! Build Up Burst from Hide using 3 Attacks and only using Assassin Strike when you are Sure to use Burst again. That way you have very reliable AoE for a Stalker.
  3. Focused Burst and Concentrated Strike are just for getting set Bonuses. These 2 Powers are not needed and can be completly skiped. The ATO does something similar, so Concentrated Strike is not needed, it does not crit and has very long animation time. Focused Burst is not that horrible but just cycling the first 3 attack powers and AS will be better Single Damage.
  4. Endurance is a problem for you. KMs fast attacks will drain your blue bar very fast. If your Secondary Powerset does not give you Endurance you will suffer. Neither SR nor Nin will fix Endurance. I would recommend to look into Energy Aura or Bio if you can. Both have good ways to deal with Endurance. Bio will also help with Damage, toxic procs for single target and proced out DNA siphon for AoE. EA is a little bit more relaxed and will only require you to click energize, everything else is toggles and passive.

Is QS-BB-SB-AS still the best KM attack chain? I vaguely remember that being the case near the end of live, back in 2012. Nowadays CS and Moonbeam can both be made into proc monsters. BU can be single slotted with the Gaussian's unique getting a double BU for 5s. I average 125s pylon times starting with BU, followed by: AS-CU-SB-[BU]-AS-SB-MB-SB-repeat. Running with Assault Radial Alpha, Degenerative Core, Ageless (For endurance), and Assault Hybrid passive (Untoggled).

This looks like Street Justice. I do not understand why you refere to it in this thread.

As far as i know Concentrated Strike is still bad. But i have been wrong in the past. Maybe it is not useless anymore..
