HSV2006 Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 (edited) I have all of these installed on windows 10 x64 ever time I run the launcher it says: If I say yes, I get this Edited October 30, 2020 by HSV2006
Retired Game Master GM Tock Posted October 30, 2020 Retired Game Master Posted October 30, 2020 Does removing the Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable (32-bit) install clear it up? Do that, and if the screen for Modify Setup still persists for the x64 one, do a "Repair". Then retry HC Launcher.
HSV2006 Posted October 31, 2020 Author Posted October 31, 2020 The 32bit version is required for an app apparently (the PC is shared). I did try repair and still does the same thing.
City Council Number Six Posted October 31, 2020 City Council Posted October 31, 2020 Have you tried uninstalling the runtime? If you’re getting that prompt it means it tried to load the runtime but failed, which if it thinks it’s already there indicates a broken runtime install.
HSV2006 Posted October 31, 2020 Author Posted October 31, 2020 (edited) Ok, i removed it. Went and got it from Microsoft and installed. No change, is the app not detecting the runtime correctly ? Edited October 31, 2020 by HSV2006
SuperPlyx Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 @Number Six I saw you said in another thread you had fixed the launcher for those of us that had the issue with it not loading after clicking Accept. (thank you ) And it did indeed work for me, the launcher will load up and launch the game however it is still asking for the Visual C runtime as described above. I installed it, repaired and uninstalled and reinstall. It still gives the same pop-up every time I open the launcher. And I believe it is not launching the game in 64 bit, if I am correct in understanding the settings: Suggestion for how to fix this?
City Council Number Six Posted November 8, 2020 City Council Posted November 8, 2020 Are you able to run the 64-bit client through Tequila? There is an issue that it's not remembering the 'No' choice if you tell it not to install the runtime -- that will be fixed soon. But the detection method is so simple and common I'm not really seeing how it could possibly fail. Maybe if antivirus or something decided to block crtcheck.exe.

SuperPlyx Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Hate to double post , but did this issue get resolved yet?
Auranyte Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 I am also unable to run the game as 64-bit through the new launcher, while being able to do it via Tequila. In fact the launcher itself is also 32-bit. Likewise the launcher requested me to download and install the 2015-2019 redistrib runtime. Despite the fact that the 2019 runtimes actually cover both 2015 and 2017. In fact when I do my normal c++ AIO update in the future, the 2015-2019 redistrib will be uninstalled since it isn't required.
HSV2006 Posted December 6, 2020 Author Posted December 6, 2020 if I use the shortcut it runs hcinstall.exe and I get the described behavior. If I run \bin\win64\laucher.exe it runs as expected (in x64)
WanderingAries Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Just noting, I get this same exact behavior when testing on the Win10Pro / Insider Preview / running inside Parallels 16 Beta / running on an M1 Mac Mini.
