Snarky
I am trying to decide on Willpower or Invulnerability as a secondary. I love Invul on Brutes. My goal for the build is a ranged platform to put Incarnate +Dam boosts on, exclusively. I want to resolve sturdiness, and specifically END problems without needing to resort to Incarnate choices to fix. To make this more pointed I want to take Leadership toggles to get a jump on that goal. THe build is just the platform. I want the Manuevers, Tactics, and Assault. Def, Acc, Perc, +Dam are all in this toons future. So I need a lot of juice up front. I had decided to go Willpower. Then I read posts that led me to believe Sentinel Invulnerability has Endurance bonuses that are substantial and Sentinel specific. Any thoughts are appreciated. THanks. nihilii
Indeed, Invul is beastly on Sentinels. You get all the normal goodness of Invul, + passive absorption, + max end. Mmm. You can definitely get Sentinel Invul to be end stable without Incarnates. For that purpose, make sure you slot Perf Shifter procs in both Stamina and Durability, and the Panacea proc in Health. This is because +end from procs is multiplied by your own maximum endurance. You will have above 130 endurance if you fully slot everything and get your accolades, which makes those procs much more effective than they would be on a regular character. The end result is ridiculously sturdy. It's robust if you want to melee; but even better, as a Sentinel, you're more likely to be at range, where enemies deal significantly less damage. So in practice it often feels tougher than your average Scrapper or Brute.
oldskool
As above. Max end makes improvements to recovery more effective. My own Beam/Invul has a 4 end per second recovery because of a high amount of overall endurance. That end recovery rate is on par with what Willpower is capable of. The advantage Willpower has is innate psionic resistance and higher passive regeneration. That's really about it. Invulnerability doesn't need 700% regeneration. Sentinel Invul not only has Dull Pain, which can work as a direct heal, but also has a passive absorb barrier in Durability. Invulnerability has an easier time hitting 75% smashing/lethal resistance vs Willpower. Not saying you can't cap with Willpower. I'm saying it is easier with Invulnerability. The +defense coverage is also uniform on Invulnerability vs the lopsided variance of Willpower. It makes hitting at least 32% defense to all but Psi much easier. (btw, F psi. Worrying about it isn't worth the time.) Invulnerability does come with some passive to-hit. Tactics will pile on more. You're going to be well over the accuracy cap with both. You can have plenty of room to load some damage procs and still hit +4 enemies before Incarnates.

Maybe this will kick off some training wheels and you will see the might of the Defender later on. 😏
Snarky
Here is the build I have been argoiung with. It mostly won, but I made a pyrrhic victory at least. I have achieved softcap Def to all but Psi without incarnating. As I incarnate I will be going for Alpha and Hybrid that add Damage, and the ranged chain AoE for judgement. Doubt I will be visiting Defender anytime soon. This is the lazy man's Blaster. No jousting. Just hover someplace and start throwing electricity at crap until the team moves on. All the time just blasting in to the horizon. Never their mind on where they were. Hmm? What they were doing. 1
Windchime
Here's mine. I tend to be the first or second in melee. I take a hit or two before most of a mob is sapped completely. My recharge is such that the big 3 single target powers cycle almost seamlessly. There is a slight delay between ball lightning and short circuit, but a quick zapping bolt usually fills the gap. SwitchFade
I have a 50+ elec/elec... While I think elec on sentinels is the best ranged elec version, it's still slightly underwhelming, slowish cast times, lower damage vs water, fire etc. Elec secondary is.... Ok. The 75% cap hurts. Other than that it's fun, when I want to play elec blast. I don't recommend elec secondary.
