Rad/Fire (non-farm build)

I have a rad/fire farm builds but is there a good rad/fire build for all content? I tried searching most recent forum posts here but couldn't find anything and I am not very good at creating my own builds. Something I can do TFs with and other content.

Here's what I use, does great in most content, although like a lot of softcap defense builds it will falter against massive debuffs (no solo ITF +4/x8 tricks).

I have one that i use.  I will try to remember to post it tonight when i get home.  And...here it is.

 

This build follows the logic of the Dark/Dark Task Force Brute I mained from Oct 20 until Apr 21   Pump the resists because the defenses have no debuff resistance and can disappear.  Then rely on heals, inspirations, team, smart play etc.  It is not as solid as Dark armor in my opinion,  But it does pretty well as long as you realize what it does well (ton of damage) and what it performs less well at (main tanking non stop)

As someone who did a Brute version of the Tanker Brunker build I have to say so many sacrifices were made to just squeak by, and even so there is a massive 30% less negative/energy resists compared to the Tanker build.

 

But it does do a bit more damage on all attacks compared to the Tanker build. But the downsides (It's martial arts and not Rad) is no AoE until 26-28. Rad melee at least avoids this.

I'll throw mine out there too for comparison and discussion.  Like Dark Dove, I focused more on defense as opposed to Resist as did Snarky.  But mine has a bit more defense and probably cheaper to build since I don't use Purples.  What I'm curious most about Snarky's build is that he avoided using Procs in Irradiated Ground.  Has the Procs' % change to PPM changed their usefulness in quick pulses or quick recharge powers?  Maybe I need to rethink how I should use these Procs?

Nope.  Irradiated Ground should have a bunch of procs in it otherwise it's just an end hog without the big payoff, so keep doing what you're doing unless you desperately need set bonuses there.  It is the pseudopet that can get an extra proc chance so it's worth it, much like putting procs in burn can give you more than one chance to proc.  While you can safely use burn without procs and still do a lot of damage, I notice a big dropoff in damage from Irradiated Ground when slotted with just regular enhancement.

 

This is easy to test for yourself though, some unslotters which are cheap or a trip to the test server can help you figure out what's right for you, if you're skeptical.

You could potentially use anything else, though you'll probably lose some recharge due to not getting the extra luck of the gambler out of Evasive Maneuvers unless you plug in some other defense set mule powers.  I don't think 7.5% recharge is going to break anything though, as long as you take combat jumping to replace one of the flight powers.
