illusion Trick Arrow build

I did this build.. It is a bit endurance heavy. I think that Incarnate Alpha will fix that a bit.  If my math is correct, which I think it is. I am at 2.2 recovery where 2 points of recovery or more is the goal for no endurance issues. 
Flash Arrow puts you at Defense cap all around almost.. But I also wanted to have Range cap inherit and not relying on Flash arrow. 

At one point during the build I was torn between a Defense S/L Shield and Resistance Shield.. But then settled on Resistance when I realized Flash arrow benefit.

Some issues I don't like..


  • Superior will of control in Spectral Terror.. Needed for Range Defense cap and the Recharge.. I am sure I could of found a cheaper way to get range defense cap.
  • Oil Slick slotting- Again Recharge.. 
  • I went with Psionic Mastery but was considering Fire Mastery for Consume as it has a duration.. But in the end I like the World of Confusion bubble.. Was also thinking Soul Mastery but Consume beats out Dark Consumption because of the duration..  Of course Psi has no Consume..  But again with Incarnate eventually endurance is not an issue, so consume becomes less of a need. 
  • Cloud Sense in Flash arrow has the damage proc that breaks blindness and generates aggro once the proc goes off.. So not ideal for blinding one group and pulling another.. 


What I can tell you soloing 3/8 extremely easy.. I think once Alpha slotted 4/8 is very doable..  
I like the Psi resistance as well. Helps on Arachnos for sure.. Very noticeable as the Incarnate mission is usually my litmus test.. I can solo without pets almost, albeit a bit slower..


I got tired of reworking it but I just feel it in my bones there are improvements to be had.. If you see anything let me know..

Skipping Disruption Arrow is an odd decision. That's your -Res right there. -30% resist is pretty much the same as a +60% damage buff for yours PAs (more if they trigger Build up on themselves via Soul Alliegence proc, which you should slot too). Ditto with boosting flaming Oil Slick damage. 


Skipping Blind & Deceive is also a little strange (Decieve can take Malaises Illusion or the Purple set for a decent chunk of recharge & ranged def). Personally I like having two holds on my Grav/TA


Your epic also looks underslotted. Not sure it's even worth taking the blasts if your not going to slot them. 


Here's a rejigged Carni with TA merged in from my Grav/TA. You do have the classic Domi problem here, going for Recharge AND trying to cap ranged Def at the same time. Personally I'd probably replace Spectral / Ball Lightning or Oil Slick with a set of purples to gain a bit more recharge at the cost of ranged def. Dumping Sorcery for Fighting will get you closer to ranged cap too (if you can wrangle the slots). I went Mu for the "Set my slicks on fire" but it has a +End power and Charged Armour gives resistence against the 3 most common damage types.

Don't slot damage procs in Flash Arrow. One of the beauties of the power is that it doesn't aggro. The proc will defeat that.

With the expansion of IO sets, you shouldn't have much problem getting into 42-46% defense range across the board.  I would definitely bring back disruption arrow no matter your play style, it's useful.  Mid's isn't being cooperative with export, but here's one that you can play around with.  I like Assault Trollers...  I fully expect to have my pets go buck wild and argo everything on the map to the point that I get overrun.  With EMP Arrow you can add another 12% damage resistance to all and -kb that my Mid's doesn't reflect.  You won't be "Capped" but you're gonna be a lot tougher to kill than with just range defense.  You can probably get an extra 1% defense by snagging hover, but I don't like flying most of the time; so I opt'd for group invisibility.


I took Leviathan because Water Spout...  Always wanted to work it into a build, and can't you just see your Phantoms shooting mobs out of the air like skeet?  I love Psi mastery for Indomitable Will but you left it out of your build, I would work that mez protection back in for the sheer awesomeness.  I haven't used World of Confusion in a long time, have they fixed it so that it's more effective? The mobs used to just laugh at it's mag 2 confuse for 1 second.


Phantasm still has 85% damage, and 85% recharge despite short changing him with slots.  I have to see if tactics will proc from the rest of the pets other than Phantasm.  If so, swap Assault with Tactics with a buildup proc if you like (or grab super jump)... but damage will come once you have stacked your -resist.  I usually slot -to hit into spectral terror, he's pretty beastly for flooring accuracy.  Saved my bacon more than once on "WILD" pickup teams.


Phantom Army is still permanent without Ageless, and I left the buildup proc in there.  On Poison Gas Arrow, I dropped the wisp proc into it to see if it might spawn extra pets that you can buff, but you can always kick that slot over to another power.  Maybe you could put it into Stamina with the +heath proc for some self healing.
