Hi all, 

 

After taking  six month break from the game I though I would comeback and start a fresh toon. I have always fancied a Rad/Bio scrapper as they seem to have a lot of potential. I enjoyed my TW/Bio scrapper (pre Nerf) and my Bio/SS tank is a lot of fun. 

 

I have built my Rad/Bio using the outline from my TW/Bio, but I would welcome a few from the expert builders on it. On papers it looks to be a lot of fun, with lots of auras, mixed damage and some nice heals. All good fun for flashback and end game. However at the back of my mind I keep thinking I am missing something. Any tweaks or advice on the build would be most welcome.

Looks like a fairly sturdy build.  You might consider trading Ageless Core for Ageless Radial so you can hang on to some of that defense in endgame.  I find it's great against major debuff mobs like Carnies and Arachnos.  I usually build for more regen and recharge on a /bio scrapper.  If you want to keep your unconventional slotting on DNA siphon (most people either make it a proc bomb or a regen workhorse), you might +5 the heal enhancement to give yourself a little extra boost.  You could also switch to Spiritual alpha and gain some more regen at the cost of a couple % def.

 

In general, I don't think this much investment into s/l defense on a /bio scrapper is efficient, but you've done a good job of it, and if it works for you that's all that matters.

@Deuce Spade The point on swapping the Ageless is a great idea. 

 

The over investment in S/L defence is probably down to my tank addictions as the build plays a lot of my Bio Tank :). I will take a look at DNA siphon and others to see if I can swap things out for more Regen.

After a bit of tinkering, and realising I can still cap S/L with the Telekas Blessing and the Defence Buff from the P2W vendor, I have come up with the updated build. This should play a bit more in to the strengths of Bio and still have decent damage and survivability for +4x8 content?

 

What does the community think... am I on the right track or have I screwed the pooch? Advice is always welcome.

Just some general things that jump out -

 

50% crit proc in Atom Smasher is great when mobbing, less so on single hard targets.  I usually like to put it in my longest recharge single target attack, Devastating Blow in this case, and use that before my AOE rotation.  It works very well on my rad/bio, but others advocate exactly the approach you're taking here.  Try it yourself and see - unslotters aren't that expensive.

 

Your global recharge is fine when you first hit Ageless, but may prove to be a little anemic as the buff gradually wears off. Spiritual is giving you a lot here, and with Ageless you'll still be perma-hasten.  If you find your rotations seem sluggish, you might try finding some more recharge bonuses.

 

Build looks good though, you should wreck stuff pretty well with this.

Builds are both a bit like art and also something personal. Things that work for someone else might not for you and vice versa.

You can do Devastating Blow, Radioactive Smash, Radiation Siphon, Radioactive Smash and repeat. I personally don't feel that Zapp + Ball Lightning adds much to the build but since you had it I kept it.

 

Musculature for more damage and Barrier for a panic button if things go bad (or to finish capping defense).

 

DNA Siphon is pretty much all your endurance needs met, but it won't do much for extended single target scenarios or exemplared under its reach. That aid Recovery Serums is the answer to both of that.

 

Ablative Shield is your number one defensive move so it should be slotted accordingly. After that comes DNA Siphon which is good enough to fill up an HP bar if surrounded by enemies. Then Parasitic Aura. Then Barrier. In my experience Parasitic Aura does close to nothing to keep someone alive where Barrier means pretty much invulnerability for the first 30 seconds.

All good advice,.  I see people skip Parasitic Aura on builds, so many feel the same as you.  I think it's the strongest survivability tool /bio has.  Slotted with five Panacea (my standard loadout) and fully saturated, it gives just under 1000% regen.  That won't save you if you hit it once things have gone south, but it's an awesome opening move in a +4/8 spawn (and you've built for layered defenses, obviously).  With decent +recharge, it's up more than half the time.

First off the advice in this thread has been fantastic. My scrapper is sitting at lv 40 about half IOed and they are a blast to play.

 

Based on the feedback I have continued to tweak the build. I have dropped Zap and Ball Lightning (AOE from the main sets has been fab) and swapped in Body Mastery for more regen. The extra slots have been put to work pushing up regen and HP. I have also added a Force Feedback +recharge proc into Radioactive Smash to help perma hasten when Ageless is not available. 

 

Any more feedback would be great 🙂
