Hello,

I am coming once again for feedback on a build, I have played this character through to unlocking incarnates, has been a blast. Freezing touch hits like a truck. I mainly just do random content, Itrials, Radios, TF and the like. Any feedback is appreciated.

Pick up grant cover.  While you don't get the defense buff from it, you do get more defense and slow debuff resistance.  Getting your defense debuff resistance a bit higher will make you a lot sturdier.  It's also useful to stack active defense x2 because the DDR it provides stacks as well.

Made some rather large changes but should enhance your game play quite a bit. . .

TLDR:

Soft Capped to positional without SM (use as a oh crap button)

Another big hitter atttack in GIS

Increased damage of Snipe

Moved around picks for better exempting

Better Resistance

Higher To-Hit

Higher Status Protection

Better Defense Debuffs

Thanks both will have a look! Appreciate the effort!

I didn't notice the de buff resist for grant cover and easy swap in for One with the shield for me, that is really only an oh shit button I am rarely using.

I totally hadn't noticed I was missing shield wall global boost.

TheDarkeone, cheers for the full rebuild. Some parts I like but overall I don't like losing that much recharge and -res from the build. Totally a person preference thing though, same goes for GFS, I just don't really like the Attack, for a bit less DPA I prefer the AOE and procs from Frost.

I'm going to nick the bits I like, lose a little recharge and move close enough to def cap without being exactly on it. I like the franken-slotting on Moonbeam!

The tweak.

Oh hey. I've done this exact combo before. It's actually in that DPS list I sent you.

So, Summon Widow won't be a great little help DPS wise. That set IS a good mule. But I'm personally a fan of Boxing - Stupefy 6pc as a mule. Recharge and ranged defense. You definitely don't want to skip Greater Ice Sword. In fact, that's the best spot to put the ATO2. Skipping Ice Patch? Man, that's like a set defining power. And with a defense based set, that soft AOE control it gives will ABSOLUTELY be a life saver. Red Fortune 6pc gives ranged defense and the 5% recharge, Food for thought. Active Defense is up so often it won't need a recharge. If anything, an End Redux. Still won't notice it.

I did a quick take on it. Replaced Moonbeam with Zapp. Dropped Frost and took Ball Lightning instead. It won't need Tactics with this much global ACC and the Kismet also works hard. You'll be able to do the best ST chain with this and still do ridiculous AOE. I really liked this combo when I did it before. Anyways, here's my take. Hopefully it keeps the things you MUST HAVE (also, my best IM/BIO times do NOT use frankenslotting, and they're the current best times).

Some lovely food for thought thank you! I might riff off some of these ideas! I can lose frost if I get lightning Ball, Mu looks good. Yeah for Widow its really just a set mule it seems to melt in about 3 seconds most of the time.

I'll have a play with some of my own tweaks 😄

It really is a fun combo. And I'm a dumb who LOVES Ice Patch. It's simple hilarity. The only "issue" is if you Ice Patch then Shield Charge. Sometimes the total amount of Knockdown becomes Knockback. Either way, Ice Patch will keep you alive.

Lol okay I will cave and add in Ice Patch again.

Okay with my tweaks.

What I lost from your build

  • a little def, I am 0.2% off Melee cap, cap on Range and AOE still
  • 30 odd % of regen
  • a little fire/cold and psi res
  • a little status resistance

What I gained

  • 500 400 odd hp (Mids doing something weird final HP is 2290 on live)
  • 11.25% recharge
  • 14% Damage
  • 2 -res procs 1 res proc
  • 7.5% end red
  • a little Smash/Lethal resist.

Build below 😄

i’ve been playing an ice/shield scrapper for a few weeks and have found the build doesn’t really require tough/weave, seems to be strong enough without it - especially with the small P2W buff

very bizarre that the above build doesn’t seem to include Frost, it’s one of the 3 main powers. without using frost, one mayaswel play a different powerset

If you're not dying you're not living

What Moonsheep said. Frost is a top power on any AT. Not so sure about dropping tough and weave, you can get hammerings on itrials when you wander off/find yourself alone.

pop a purple if things are getting sticky. soloing alone even on x8 things are mostly fine, ice patch is a good damage mitigator

once OP has more confidence and experience with the character/game they’ll likely be able to drop the tough/weave training wheels

the best damage mitigator is playstyle and experience
