• Roleplay is intended to mimic ‘real-life’ as much as possible. However, I am not a realtor and do not know the exact ins and outs of the real estate market.
• Offers: offers are limited to what can be provided in-game. The listing states the cost, but you can offer below, at and above the listing price. You can offer other services and/or items that are found in-game only.
• Just because you put in the first offer, doesn’t mean your offer will be accepted. You are welcome to revise your offer at anytime until the property is sold. The listing will be marked sold when it has been purchased. All offers will get a response within a reasonable amount of time.
• Offers, final sold price and buyer names are private. They will not be disclosed.
• As with real life realtors, I ask that the honor system be used. I will not manipulate roleplay (ex: say there is an offer to get more influence, when there is no offer) and I will expect the same from you. If you say you want to meet at a certain time for a viewing, please show up or leave an IC message explaining your delay or absence. Please be respectful and courteous.
• Once your offer has been accepted, you will be invited to the supergroup to which the base is attached. You will have 2 (real time) days to transfer the funds via the in-game mail system or in character. Once the transfer has been received, I will remove all my characters from the base and provide instructions to change the base code. If you do not communicate with me if there is a delay, you will be removed from the supergroup and acceptance of your offer will be rescinded. I will then, consider other offers.
• I haven’t roleplayed in over a decade – please be patient and kind.
• I am not taking commissions or base building jobs. If you have a specific request, you can roleplay it with my character.

((There are 211 lakes called Crystal lake in the world. 37 of them are located in the USA. This Crystal lake has no association with the Crystal Lake to which you are referring.))

I tried to sell a base that I was not using and was summarily shot down and rudely scolded by the GM team for it.  How were you able to do this?

The intent is to roleplay the sale of a base, which I do. The cost of the base is minimal and not exploitative. The interactions are roleplay based and follow the code of conduct to the best of my understanding.There are strict guidelines for no off-coh transactions.

My goal here isn't the influence, I just really want to meet people outside of the bar scene and Pocket D.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on your situation and how it is different.

My situation was no different other than I was not in it for roleplaying.  It was just a base that I had built that I had no use for.  I was also selling it for in game currency or purple recipes, nothing outside the CoC.  I guess the GM staff here have different standards for different people, which comes as no surprise to me to be honest.  Glad you were able to get what you were after with this!  Hope you met some great fellow players.  Beautiful base by the way!  Nicely done.

What @PotatoLove is doing is very much inspiring more roleplaying on the server shard and her prices are very much fair for the work gone into the base build. I admire the creativity!

@CrystalDragon trust me I suck at it, first time trying it. Always wanted to, just never got around to it.

The usual things, awkward, embarrassed, etc.

But, I tried it and its cool. Luckily Sydney taught me a few things and now we are friends so I think it was worth the experience.

I appreciate the offer also! I have to learn all the little nuances to be good I think.

@CrystalDragon is helping me get back into roleplaying as welll! Definitely hit her up and join her roleplaying for beginners when it starts up again!

I find it's practice and watching/reading what others do. I mimic until I find my own style, kind of just like how most people learn any kind of skill. I will definitely find a few circumstances to have roleplay opportunities in a very chill, non-high stress environment for you. Even I am still intimidated by open group roleplay and pocket D/bars in the general. I'm even intimidated to go into other people's bases, even if there are 'open' for roleplay to everyone. Everyone does things at their own speed; there's no reason to rush into things. Just take the steps you feel comfortable with. Roleplayers in general (so far), I have found to kind, patient and gracious. I bet you'll find the same if you're interested in going further.

 

And you don't suck at it.
