Hello all,

Its good to be back to this game. I recreated my main Calligraphy, a Spines/SR scrapper and leveled him to 50 the old fashioned way. He has been piece mealed together and though the build I have for him suits most purposes, I would like to explore more of the endgame with him. So I have his current build and was hoping for suggestions to take him to the next level. Obviously a lot of the slotting is poor as i didn't have the means to be efficient. I have or am able to get purples easily enough, but only have enough merits to probably get 2 sets of ATOs. So if you have ideas that don't lean to heavily on those that would be perfect. Thanks for taking the time if you glance at this.

I have a spines/sr i quite like. When we got the game back i planned to run it as my main as its so cheap to build /sr toons for good defensive values and easy content play. But i ran into a farmer on day 2 and he showed me how easy it was to set up an account and run an afk /fire brute in the background so inf wasn't a problem and i ended up remaking my elec/kin instead. Looked over your build and i see a lot of stuff that could be shuffled. 6 adjusted targeting and 6 devastation don't help you at all bonus wise. Stamina i assume the 5% recharge was the aim but its not helping your defense and its overslotted. You have a lot of defense pieces already that can easily be converted (convert-out of set conversion, click the little arrow below and change category) that would give you more luck of the gambler/reactive defense pieces. If your dead set on running without the scrapper ATO sets you can still get around 45'ish very easily to melee/ranged/aoe. I prefer barb swipe over impale and i noticed you skipped weave which would bump you to about 50 if you took that over laser beam eyes. Gaussian piece should be in build up where its pretty much guaranteed to fire off every time you click it. Heres a reshuffled version to show you what i mean with the red fortunes and serendipity's converted to lotg/reactive. The couple of pvp pieces arent necessary but its soooo much easier to gear up toons on HC than live (you can just throw 3 random def bits in your passives like agile/dodge/lucky til you have merits/inf to buy what you want) :

as @Meknomancer mentioned, consider starting a 2nd acct for a farming brute. @FourSpeed has a great start-from-scratch thread worth reading:

i have a very old (circa 2014) icap build you're welcome to if ya like. since moved on to SR on Brutes (to take advantage of HP, give the Scaling Res mechanic a better head start & ceiling, improve E/N Res), but it worked well for Incarnate content.

     These are my powers taking defensive sets on my Claws/SR.  As I think on how I'm going to slot her i27 build upgraded from her last +max health and regen build created late i23 I see that list as where I'm going to place 5 sets Shield Wall at least 3 slotted preferably 4 slotted for the E and NE resists (with a nod to @Bill Z Bubba for that idea) and 4 sets of LotG plus 1 LotG def/+rchg (for a total of 5 the 7.5 recharge IOs).  Again 3 slotted, probably not 4 and almost certainly not more.  Then we need to add a Kismet +6%, Reactive Defenses scaling defenses and Shield Wall +5% resistance.  I'll need 9 base slots plus another 20 to 25 level up slots to do this (out of 24 base slots plus 67? level up slots).  I liked using the LotG in the passives in the previous build (no need to worry about endred).  Thus LotG def, def/rech, def/+rchg.  Then 1 LotG def/+rchg in CJ for 4 total.  Next I liked Kismet +6% in Focused Fighting (though in Senses works just as well) want it in a power available at low exemplar levels.  Thinking Shield Walls in FF, FS, Evasion, Weave and Maneuvers since I'm already using LotG in the passives and I want the endred --> def, def/endred, def/endred/rech and then def/rech except for one power using the Shield Wall +5% special.  The Reactive Defenses scaling resists special can be dropped in CJ with the LotG.  That should pretty much do it.  Then just need to play with with the rest see how it shakes out.
